Oh, I wanted to help Doru so badly when I heard his desperate cries... It also seemed so callous to me that no one from the party sought to find out what was going on in the undercroft of the church, although the DM gave them plenty of opportunity to understand that something was obviously very wrong and that someone truly desperate was trapped there. They all just let whatever was going on to go on. I know that on a metagaming level, they are aware that there is a starving vampire in there. But, the characters know nothing of that sort, and leave someone who is apparently in a great deal of pain and anguish suffer. For all that they know, there can be a cultist's victim screaming for help from under the church's floor.

Can you please tell me the sounds/music used during this extremely suspensful moment, when metrion is hiding in the trees around the 35:00 minute mark?

My players arrived there at night last session, so noone was really "happy" to see them. They managed to waddle their way into town and to the inn, which was'nt really packed. Now, starting their new day, they went for shopping at Arasek's, learnd about the Waggon and the Festival that starts that evening. Let's see, if they spare the tigre. 😂 Van Richten is also their sidekick, so they kinda got the hook here - maybe they find out about him. Thanks for the guide,- I was really unsecure about *all* the hooks here, but I'm reliefed that I don't have to use them all. 🙈😌

Aethrandir is both sweet and brave, and yes, a great storyteller too. I actually cried when he told the story of the hero girl who returned home after earning her glory. But everyone is truly amazing. I love the way this story unfolds and the intensity of roleplaying.

Unfortunately the cards dont slowly turn anymore. Just bought and found even more people that cant get the webm to play correctly.

Amity having helped the pig to jailbreak and escape death row should be its own pre-Barovia prologue spin-off. That’s such a cool story.

As a former lifeguarding swimmer: please don’t try this at home, kids. Re-enacting Baywatch (in cold water!) fully clothed (and armoured) is one of many ways how you end up with several drowning casualties on the scene rather than just the one. But: great scene in the game! The kid was such an interesting and sassy character too. Well played!

Oh no, this is going to be yet another episode where Amity sabotages the group for her own sense of safety, gets away with it unscathed, and Aerthrandir gets all the misdirected flak for it.

I know I’m several years late to the party, but with ever passing episode, I have more of an urge to see Amity thrown to the direwolves in retaliation. Not because she’s a coward, that’s excuseable, and even interesting to watch, seeing how that’s the theme of this series - but because she’s constantly selling the others out actively, while simultaneously painting herself as a victim of group dynamics when people are rightfully angry at her. And somehow her waifish poor widdle baby spiel gets some of the others to rugsweep her backstabbing, defend her and blame others for the bad situations, life endangerment and tense group dynamics she caused. Such a piece of work, she must have really high charisma to pull that off. Very well played by the player who voiced her, of course! impressive that you manage to do it so well without feeling icked out by her character (or icked out enough for it to be noticeable in the way you play)! I’m having a blast with this series!

I'll be running CoS for the first time in a couple weeks, so I've done all the prep work but I'm listening to this with the module open in front of me cos I am ever wanting to learn how to be better with descriptions and things... and just getting to the bridge and "huh, why's he reading that part?" as Strahd appears. Just amazing.

I’ve loved their dedication to the story and staying in character but this was the first time I’ve gotten frustrated. Caomihe metagamed the heck outta that potion interaction. When you say Im not going to meta, then fail the check, and then STILL meta bugged me.

No idea if anyone checks these. I've been listening to the podcasts of this show and loving it. The players were introduced with their names and characters, but nothing else. Do they have channels where their campaigns can be found?

I feel like I missed something with Metrion saying Lillisan feels "cold." I remember his mission and all, I just wonder if I spaced out about something else. But great episode. It will be nice to see Aerthrandr relax and geek out for a bit. The guy has been so wound up, trying to be the responsible one for the party for a long time. He needs a breather like this.

I find the casts inability to stick to a point of view unbearable. The swap between third person and talking about their player, to them talking as their player is nearly seamless. It can be the same person talking, “metrion does this… wow that’s a great introduction you had!”… same sequence of sentences, swapping between 3rd person and 1st person like it’s nothing. I slogged through nearly half of the first episode but I can’t continue, it’s unbearable and terribly incoherent

Why is Caoimhe like SO into Irena? They've barely interacted and she's acting like its been this long term near romance that is so very deep instead of very superficial interest. She's acting like she's been in love with her forever instead of only knowing her for a few days and just an earnest crush... there is this deep intensity she is trying for and i just don't get it? Did i miss something important?? I don't mean this as a bash to the player btw, I'm asking genuinely if i misunderstood something or if it's meant to be a flaw in the character.

The more i watch, the more i dislike Amity (the character, not player). She tries to be friendly yet has zero qualms with leaving others to die if it means she is safe. The others at least have guilt when forced to.

I should relisten to this. I’m starting a new CoS game soon (which was why I first listened to it) and I tend to run pretty close to RAW, so it’s great inspiration as well as having great players and a great DM.

I too have used the pillow wall in dnd, lmao. But my pc was a changling in a male form, but her natural state was female (we tweaked changling slightly). I had the whole party thinking i made a flamboyantly gay male human because she is also naturally very affectionate and touchy feely, so she was hanging on everyone's arms and hugging everyone 😂 In her male form she was always blushing at the cruder guy talk or when one of the party started to change before bed and he would build the pillow wall when having to sleep really close to someone.

Blah blah blah roll play, blah blah character flaws, a group that doesn't want to do anything but insult and argue about everything is hard to watch.. imo great players, but some of the pcs are better off being left a village somewhere. "Questing is for people with no life" fine then become an npc.

I think i missed something... Even on open ground, the party should be able to easily out pace the mound. As a large creature, its speed should be halved as it squeezes through the narrow halls. The party should have been able to kite it incredibly well. Of course, if they had just sacrificed the PET PIG...

I'm running Curse of Strahd for the first time with a group that has never played this one before. A few sessions in and they have already heard plenty about Strahd and and are starting to get paranoid about how powerful he really is. They have no idea about this part, getting to meet him so early in the story where he could easily curb stomp them all. I am so excited, especially for the rookie vampire hunter that has been talking smack all the while.
