This does not prove we need Blomkamp’s Alien, I’m sorry but Sigourney Weaver is in her 70s, too much time has passed and passed her prime to reprise the role. Same thing with Hicks and Newt, the actors are too old at this point to get an authentic and “true” alien sequel. No one and I mean NO ONE, wants to see Ellen Ripley and co 50 years later, the sequel everyone WANTS to see is Ellen Ripley and co 5 to 10 years later, which got wasted in Alien 3 and was the time to do it when all the actors were in their prime and still young enough to make a cohesive sequel to Aliens. Now I know Weaver COULD still do it and still expresses interest doing another Alien film, but again no one wants to see a 70 year old Ellen Ripley on the big screen unless you want the studio to use CGI to de-age her or use another actress to play a younger Ripley, but all fans would be offended by that and would cancel it.
