A FRUSTRATING SEARCH

Bank on the banks of the tamar again on the Cornish side looking for a described adit off a mining site. False info maybe or has it collapsed and been buried since?
HIDDEN DEPTHS OF DANESCOMBE

After initially travelling out to purchase top soil from a local garden centre and walk the dog we decided on an unplanned trip in the Tamar valley... Once there we decided to hunt for a shaft that I had spotted years ago deep in the woods and we succeeded and also found a partially blocked adit that I had no idea about,I already knew of one near a converted engine house but this one was an acc...

MAFFERS ATTEMPTS MARKE VALLEY

Today we find ourselves south of Caradon hill in a wooded valley.. Sometime ago we had a couple attempts of lowering the water levels for this one, however today myself( Maffers) attempt to re visit this beauty... I done this several years ago with a club I belong to and made it to the end... Personally I don't remember the ceiling being so low or was it before I had back issues.. Anyway viewers...
SHAZZERS SOLO MISSION...SHE BOTTLED IT 😂

Shazzer wanted to try a solo mission. This was her first time in an adit on her own needless to say she bottled it because of the height of the water. This one will be re-visited and completed soon...

Back at DGC today with the gang... We appear to be working through one area at a time with the plan to cover the majority of this historical mining area.. Today's excursion takes us past Wheal Maria and on up towards Wheal Fanny which is really off limits but even today I find a few new features whilst wonder dog safeguards Shazza

Today we went on an explore of Holmbush mine. The oldest mine in our neck of the woods having began mining in the 1600's.
WANDERING THE CLAY WORKS

A brief look around some older clay workings today with the bearded wonder What an amazing landscape with industrial waste and machinery still present as we look around on the very edge of Dartmoor and it's history
GRENOFEN TUNNEL
Просмотров 23221 день назад
Well what a strange afternoon indeed. Originally expecting a walk from whiteworks to nuns cross farm we found ourselves almost stranded down some back track in the snow, luckily we were able to retreat before we headed into disaster. Then we descend to grenofen bridge for a marked adit that didn't show where the grid reference said so as a last resort to bring content we head for Grenofen tunnel...

THE EMOJI MINE( DEEP ADIT) Final explore of 24
That bridge led to the incline plane for the East Cornwall Railway before the viaduct was built and the new section of line. I've wanted to have a wander on it for years.
@keithdawe8521 I'm aware of track remains towards top of woods but not sure if part of someone's garden
Saw the emoji mine today up minions
Nice down there i knew bout the first 2 adits but the 3rd next to the done up building never knew was there learnt something today and even the one you found the other day never know that either
Yeah I'd seen the one with the gnomes on top before but not that large looking entrance, that whole right hand bank needs investigating further lol
@maffersnshazzasbigadventur9135 yeah shame you can't get in be nice if one is open
cool video, when we filmed it we spoke to the monks and they let us walk around inside too. no english but nice people
@ForsakenExploration ah not seen all you're videos yet,I know it was boarded up years ago when we looked
Nicely done buddy 👌
Had to move quick after you're video. Get in quick while you can
beautiful place for a walk, nice video
Can't get enough of the tamar valley, constantly finding stuff except on this occasion lol.... I'm luckily located where 10/15 minutes either way gets me to caradon or tamar valley
@maffersnshazzasbigadventur9135 cool mate
I was looking at the big shaft or collapse when you come in other end top path above wheal b looks like a adit at the top of collapse but cant get to it to look proper need to look again at some point
A minimum of five open adits and possibly a couple more collapsed ones in those woods. Several ruins, one up the top to your right you mentioned has an open shaft. Several other areas of interest too.
Have messaged you on fb may come through as request
ruclips.net/user/shorts1tZ6lQpTk1c?si=xdfrbdzJn957413I We had a go at that one, needs a pick axe to get the root out, then you can in!
Looks Inviting! Shame it's been recovered
Hi guys, that vertical shaft you show. i am sure its covered over with a iron manhole lid. Just situated down fron the sand dunes. We use go up there as kids. But you could easy see daylight around the edgings, but over time would say filled up with the sand. Cheers pard mark
@@markdavey7936 hi cheers for comment,I'm wondering if I've seen that cover now you mention it but could be mistaken
Found it get on going to be a good dig that hope the adit goes for a bit and don't just go in a little bit not sure when I can get back down there as I'm going to other place if I got enough time might pop down after I'm finished
Love the cane handle, that one’s gonna need a lot of digging
@GingerMole I'll need help, will take me a visit a week for a year with my physical restrictions. 15 minutes effort and I start suffering.....Of course an offer of assistance would be gratefully accepted lol
@ I’d come if I could get a lift out there
I just subscribed to your youtube channel
@@DeDraakAap thankyou 😁👍
Cracking video chaps ,the local scout group built the cabin and use it on a regular basis ,its a cracking spot👏
@@rdoney36 thankyou we thought it was abandoned as looked the same as a couple of years ago. Glad you liked the video
@maffersnshazzasbigadventur9135 😎
Thanks for the shout out legend.
Always a pleasure, have to sort a collaboration this year... Well overdue lol
@maffersnshazzasbigadventur9135 yes sir 🙌 we are game
Shame you couldn't finish it but can't be making your back worse, need you healthy for our next coop 😂 nice adit!
@ExploringWithConnix I made it all the way years ago and water was much deeper but dries out,has a really tiny winze and signs of a blockage/ back fill area with some timbers still in place
Good effort tho mate the men that mined that must of been 4 foot or thay was on their knees all day
Having constant crushing of the nerves is no fun at all i must admit...it takes a huge amount of effort to stay head strong through the discomfort even after heavy painkillers plus I get out of breath easy because of the trauma
Just get in there 😂
😁
@@GingerMole I've got to just to redeem myself and not look a prat lol
Where's is this???
@@DeanLird Brixham Devon
Them engine houses are brilliant shame about the ivy on them

Would love to theow a fly in that river it resembles my local one neer cardiff absolutely lovy scenery i goto get out more
@@divins774 it's a popular sea trout, salmon river plus I've heard of brownies to 4lb being caught
Seems like a lot of the clay pools are now used for weekend boat/sailing activities, like at the end.
@sandpit72 yeah I did find a little shed nearby with ropes/ anchors etc
where is this Scotland? England? its absolutely beautiful
Devon UK
There is a carpark at the end of that road get up on the bank you can see right in the quarry
Another one I didn't know of!
@ExploringWithConnix maffers knows em all lol Well just a few then
It's like they put them metal sheets in the roof to mess the bats up! 😅🤷
@@ExploringWithConnix ah did wonder reasoning for it...another option was maybe over head lighting
Very cool!
That broken fence and gate look out over thats is a quarry down there thats where the wheels are matebetter to come in bottom path for that
@Gunniboysexplorers I just picked shortest route for obvious reasons,it twice as far than coming bridge end or scrubtor but yeah thought it looked suss below broken gate
@maffersnshazzasbigadventur9135 yeah bit of a long walk around that area that steep hill don't help i should have started from the top and worked down the slope but I started from adit up glad you finally found it good video that
They sealed it up pretty quick, prob one the neighbours, they was giving me the eyeball when I was leaving there
Hi mate that adit i found that you mentioned a dog turned up then seen bloke walking threw the trees so i left before he got to me tho not sure if he lived in the houses there
Fantastic mate your a real trooper. All the love and best wishes to you and sharon for 25. Hock aye de noo 😅😅
Take it easy my friend and enjoy the evening
Used to drink in there at times when Marcia had the place . . . good atmosphere . . . cosy . . . food was good.
I suppose all trade now gone to wheal tor or crowsnest

@@Maggie_1957 we both had the festive flu but it was still nice. Hope you and yours had a lovely xmas. See you in 2025 and thanks for all your support x
nice
Cool 😊
The path is the old tramway and feels like it goes on forever when you walk it to Minions from Tokenbury Corner. 😄 great place to explore and i've still only seen about a third of it.
@keithdawe8521 I was trying to work out which mine this adit belongs to.. I had it as just east caradon as didn't wanna put wrong info up
@maffersnshazzasbigadventur9135 I think your right with it being East Caradon. I've not explored that area much.
好地道
Big crater up top of that with big shaft up on the side of it
With more sink holes right up top no adits tho well nothing i could see
Had a great time, Great explore! 👍
Is this the top adit with fence in front of it and a stream coming out of it i did clear the leafs the other day to lower the water
That's the one,I have done a video on it from my first visit it's in 2 parts, just done a few shorts as already filmed before
I've always found moss-covered forests enchanting, this was a very beautiful area, I watched it three times just to try and identify the various types. Thanks for the walk!
@@d4mdcykey thankyou so much for the comment we're lucky enough to live near lots of forests like this. Hope you join us on the next one 😁
Bit of a mission with all them trees down bit of a jungle out that way lol
@Gunniboysexplorers I struggled I must admit...bit of a coincidence bumping into 3 kings,I'd virtually come away from the adit and spotted figures coming in from opposite way
@maffersnshazzasbigadventur9135 I struggled after the finding that adit i went up over the adit to find way out and ended up in a bog and almost filling my wellys haven't met 3 kings yet still need to sort a meet up with me and you at some point if your still up for that no rush too
Remember that one, well deep that ochre 💩 . There is or was a rotten wooden gate just inside the adit
How deep buddy I only had my wellies so didn't get chance to get closer
@maffersnshazzasbigadventur9135 Yeh was over knee deep and possibly deeper but that was around the area you were. Managed to get to the adit but didn't go in but I reckon that's pretty deep sludge for a fair distance.
Nice 👍
Good video mate nice to see shazza back out and the puppy keep up the good work 👍👏👍
@KennyDavies-q3u glad to have her back to be honest . Got to get another in before Christmas and hopefully a boxing day special
IS THAT BEEDLENS NATURE RESERVE? CUZ I HAVE BEEN THERE ON MY TRIP TO ENGLAND
Could be I've learnt about something new ,I didn't know about this 🤔 area
Devon UK just across the river from Cornwall
Great video guys. Might not see you before so ... Merry Christmas ❤
@3kingsadventures cheers my friend, best wishes to you all over festive period
I reckon those refuges in the tunnel are caged is to stop people hiding in them and jumping out and mugging people.
