A night under the Aurora - Southern England - 10/10/2024
Join me for an hour under the Northern Lights in southern England on the 10th October 2024. This impressive geomagnetic storm was visible across the whole country and even much further south. This is a video of the first substorm from about 21:30 to 22:30.
I may have captured a STEVE in this video, but I now believe it to actually be a close relative of STEVE known as a SAR arc. If anyone who knows a bit more can identify it, I'd love to know for sure!

Driving across a frozen lake - Sweden - February 2024
Просмотров 603 месяца назад
In some parts the quickest way to get about in the winter is simply the shortest way, straight across the lake! It's a magnificent experience to drive out onto the lake, with the flat snow-covered ice all the way to the horizon in places and snowdrifts sweeping across the road. These ice roads over lake Storsjön in Sweden are maintained by the road authority and open when the ice conditions are...
Why Britain's longest river is flowing uphill - How tides and tidal bores form

Gracias por compartir tan bello video es fascinante escuchar el ruido de las aguas 👍👍👍❤️🤗🤗🤗
Wow what a brilliantly put together explanation. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this, thank you. Well narrated and easy to understand.
Go to machine mart and buy a self priming water pump rather than scooping out the water
I like your content, show me more🥵
For all the people supporting the genocide of Palestine hope you love this weather and your homes 🏠 are nice and warm and dry
A very nicely made piece and your mode of delivery is well paced. However, I can almost hear *Sir Isaac Newton* wincing in his grave at Westminster Abbey. 😢 The Moon does not orbit the Earth. They both orbit a common centre of mass called the *Barycentre.* The tides are caused by the interaction of gravitational and inertial forces. *Gravity is an Inertial force.* At the centre of the Earth these forces are equal and opposite. The tidal force is a force emanating from the centre outwards, which acts along the surface of the ocean producing an inertial motion, which we observe as tides. Kind regards and take care.
Brilliant, but it's hear not here! 😂
Blimey ~4" of hail ?! It was just normal rain in Hampshire
Yep that's what you call so going over and giving you a good downpour
That's quite sizable hail stones
Leicester got hit viciously bad the next day (Saturday), it was definitely a supercell that's for sure with meso cyclones spotted, constant thunder every second and lightning aswell with hail and biblical amounts of rain, currently some sort of leak in the attic of my family's house due to 4 hours of torrential rain, absolute brutal storm it was and still remains in my head after two days, I also do feel bad for the people at the Leicester vs Everton match that had to sit through that abysmal weather at the king power stadium
Also forgot to mention, the lightning wasn't just normal lightning, it was like constant fork lightning with plenty of positive cg strikes
A winter shower in Scotland.
Beautiful. ☄️🌈
Beautiful. 😂😊
BBC will still claim it was the warmest and driest year ever
Evidence of your claim ?
Morons will still claim rapid temperature rise is normal.
Shocked to see how bad the South has been hit! It's awful you have to bail out your house in heavy storms too, would a small slanted roof over the wall (or something similar), help keep water out?
That's SNOW good! Boom boom.
Ah a good old winter coming
Moist! I followed that storm in oxfordshire, decided to divert to get home quicker since the a420 was snarled up due to flooding. Although the back roads were not blocked with traffic, the flooding on them was impressive for such a short storm as what it was in our area. I completely missed getting any of the storm over me though which was kind of a shame as i rather like storms:)
Very laborious all that bailing. That hail got quite deep. Did it make the air much colder?
I'm envious. Here in Chicago we've had an extremely dry August - September. Soak it up dude! Cheers!
Please come to kerala grow a beard (to look older) and work for some important department. we need people like you to talk to the higher ups on why keralas flooding situation may only get worse every year. This is serious stuff and im sure its happening in places where people stay in the state of Kerala. Our people have money and ways to make their own land flood proof. But those like you need to come there and educate the common man
THANK YOU VERY MUCH for such as explaining! I have traveled many times through Bristol chanel many times and I have never seen river full. Low tide only. Great job 🙏❤️
hey, does this phenomenon causes land slides? Here in Country, a huge landslide had happened taking the lives of 200 people, the main reason was told the soil piping
Great job! Awesome idea and well presented piping feature
Love The Bore....Been riding it for about 40 years.
1:08 i saw more moons
Severn is the biggest one in uk but there are similar ones in morcamb bay and the solway firth
Salmon leaping
great video, well done
It’s a magical experience ..years ago we took our 12 year old son to see the bore ..we managed to park in by one of the best places ..it’s amazing but over so quick ..I remember the river was meandering its way down and very low ,heard shouting than water as a huge wave came round .people on canoes in front and it rushed passed us leaving the river 12 for higher and now speeding the other way ..just fantastic
Privet🖐👀👍
Fascinating!
when a rogue wave hits a coastline and runs up a tributary. Fascinating. These might be too small to be called a rogue wave at sea but it all rears up when it comes to land to see its height increase. Increased sea rains, earthquake somewhere, and probably even the temperature of the water and of course air currents.
Camera could be a little sharper and have better high definition but nice footage overall
Very interesting, would be better without the irritating music.
💕♥️♥️🌊🌊🌊🌊⚓⚓💦💦💦🗺💙💙
👏
Where is this, what causes it, how fast and how far does this travel?
This is a tidal bore on the River Severn, filmed at Minsterworth, UK. It's caused by tidal water being funnelled into the Severn Estuary, which forms a wave that travels tens of miles inland, as far as Gloucester.😊
🎶🌟🎶
There is no such thing as a tidal wave
Flatlander member!
How many metres do you reckon?
Aloha, can we surf that wave?
Hey there, very interesting footage. Always interesting to see the impact on a small scale based on the bigger picture of tidal movement. As you watch the energy and the power of the water you also can regnoize, that there is full grown nature - everything is in a kind of balance beside those strong impacts. I wonder how is the impact under the surface - this river must be always very muddy. Which fish like this twice a day party ?
Nice orca yang yang
Clears all rubbish out of the river.
Is it real or hands made 🤔🤔🤔🥱
I always thought the Severn Bore was a particularly annoying bloke in a pub in Bristol!!!
Almost immediately after your look into the flowing soil pipe, I asked myself "Good, now we have to have him go back in the dry season and have another look then" and there you do. Very fine, clearly explained and educational.
Is this a daily occurrence? Please excuse my ignorance but I assume this is directly related to ocean/sea tidal fluctuations based on time of the month, year, etc...otherwords, this water connects to the Ocean....it appears to be a lake vs Ocean/Salt water...very interesting and great camera work...
During the big spring tides the bore tends to come up river twice a day (at each high tide) but at neap/small spring tides it doesn't tend to occur at all really. The local weather conditions can also impact how big and when it arrives!
I remember my dad telling me about him and my granddad fishing a match on the Severn when the bore came up, luckily everyone got to the top of the bank but several people lost all their gear.
