Tullie Textiles August '23: Kitchen Batik
New subscriber here. I have started slow stitching and it is easy to add a blanket stitch around your little project. But with the addition of the beads, it takes it up a notch. So, now I am recycling fabric but finding a use for all the beads I have left over from my jewelry making days. Thank you for inspiring me!
@@felicific9641 that's wonderful! I'm so pleased you've been inspired and are able to use up some of your supplies too. Thanks so much for letting me know and happy stitching!
Have you tried making the template out of thin plastic?.
I haven't but I've seen others do this and I think it's a great idea. I think milk bottles would work well.
love this
Great instruction. First time I had your channel recommended.
Thanks! I'm glad you found it easy to follow. Happy stitching!
Great session Helen - can't wait to have a go.
@@EmmaDenham-p4w thank you! Have fun!
Lovely. I'm going to try that.
@@tanyacurtis2884 have fun!
A cat brush would work beautifully I think to fray the cotton yarn! I’m gonna try this! Thanks!!
@@LisaLisa-zl9vu good idea! I think that would work well. Have fun!
So lovely. I wish you had shown how to change thread when you've run out; I'm a visual learner!! I'll try it out.
@@LisaLisa-zl9vu thank you! To change threads you can just knot the end of the old thread and new thread together and then tuck the knot inside the button, hope that helps! Happy sewing 🪡
@ I’m not even thinking! Dah! It’s all eventually hidden all that stitching onto the clock. Yes it’s a no brainer. I suppose it was too early in the morning when I watched the video! 😆
@@LisaLisa-zl9vu we've all been there!
I love how simple these are to make and how cute the finished item is. My mind is whirring with how to use them in projects. Thanks for sharing.
@@nicolehewittcreates they're great aren't they! Simple but effective!
You down nice work what is the Needle type or name of needle
@@sheetaloswal9092 thank you! The channels are stitched with a normal sewing needle and then a blunt darning needle is used for the stuffing. Hope that helps!
I just love them. ❤️❤️❤️
I am going to try this.❤
Have fun!
Hi Helen, love your block, very pretty
Thank you!
Lovely craft.
I really enjoyed this! Never thought to make a log cabin in this way. I must try this!
Very pleased to hear you enjoyed this, I had fun recording this one! Happy stitching 🪡
I love this Helen. Log cabin is my favourite. I am currently making a slow stitch quilt so I will definitely be adding a square like this xx
Fabulous! Happy stitching and do let me know how you get on!
Log cabin blocks are so fun to make
I agree, so satisfying how they build up!
Very clear, many thanks
Thank you, I'm glad it's easy to follow!
I'm looking forward to having a go at this! Thanks for sharing the technique. What will you do with it now it's finished? Stitch?
Thanks Rachel, I think these would look good with some added stitching and then I'm thinking of making some little fabric pots or similar. I'll keep you updated!
