Great job on your flying fun and progress! Scary moments for sure. Did you check your frame losses after landing? Hope you don’t have that experience again. I’m glad you showed the battery setup that was better than most reviews out there. Like your j10 all my new freewing 90’s are going to be 8s. Sad to say but, spectrum uses some ancient radio signal tech compared to some other competitors like Jeti and Frsky they are light years behind. Having flown EDF's for a while, I have been kicking around the idea of a turbine model. The initial investment is kind of a hard pill to choke down but, I would really like to have a model that would fly longer than the 3:30 to 4:00 minutes I usually get from EDF's. There are trainer turbine models around but the turbine itself is something a bit more of a challenge to acquire. I have thought about a used set-up but without knowing enough, it would be easy to end up with a timed-out engine, a damaged unit or one that is no longer supported. Another problem is the flying field I fly at is not really suited to jet operations because the field is just too small. I guess one day I will just have to jump in and commit to one. There is always a challenge I guess of sorting out these issues.

Did the wind change direction only you took off left to right and at 4 min 6 secs you appear to have got too slow on downwind and almost stalled then you landed a little after that right to left ?. Even in little wind you still need to land into wind with this model. Check that the battery tray clicks into place as it has a habit of slipping backwards when you go vertical. I stuck a bit of extra foam under the canopy so that it almost touched the back of the battery to stop this happening. If it does happen it is instant tail heavy and crash !!!!

@@paulrkytek6587 There was a crosswind and the wind did change direction as the day went on. Those flights were spaced out pretty far. So it was CG tested by the book but the book is wrong. The battery was all the way forward. It was way too nose heavy. When I was flying, inverted the nose weight was preventing me from flying level. It’ll be a much better for flying plane once I get to CG right. It’s still flies really good though.

I do have the elevator and flaps set correct. In the first flight where I flip the plane I didn’t notice, but the back section came loose from the fuse where the glue seam is. So it was causing the plane to nose down. I’ve fixed that now And I’m gonna keep practicing. Thanks for your help.

This is the hardest plane to learn than any I’ve ever flown. But it’s worth it because it’s so beautiful and has such a presence in the sky.

Please, please Do NOT use flaps on take off or you will pitch down.🙂, fly closer, fly smoother, fly wider turns, use more expo, easy on that elevator, add power on go around well BEFORE applying up elevator SLOWLY OR THE NOSE WILL LIFT AND YOU WILL STALL. Book CG at 90mm or 3and a half inches is correct, do you have the 2mm up elevator from neutral set for normal flying and do you have the flap to up elevator mix of 1.5mm for half flaps and 3mm for full flaps programmed in as page 9 of the Flightline Instruction Manual. Good luck with the next flights. Try making the downleg approach smoother at half the height in this video turning about 150 yds away from you, when aligned with runway half flaps, then pause, start to reduce throttle slowly then go full flaps, continue to reduce throttle slowly, keep the model very slightly nose down until you are about 4 ft above runway, start to level out, by now you should be at 10% throttle down to 5% and wait for the plane to land itself before pinning the tail down to prevent the nose over. Good luck with the next flights

Excellent advice. If only ppl just remembered. I try telling my new to flying friends the same stuff but they don't listen.

Great reivew mate. I find landing on the shorter grass with belly landers is better as they slide along instead of getting tangled.

I guessed that the long take off was that the CG was too far forward. But you answered my question. Looking forward to your next flight. My J-10 is ready for the maiden-building up my nerve.

@@robertlawson1053 I seen a video where the guy says that the canards and the elevators need to move opposite each other. It’s just a video so I don’t know for sure if that’s the right way to set it up or not but I’m gonna try it. Honestly, it might not even matter. I would’ve done it today, but it was too windy.
