Christ unites those who believe in Him. Many prophets are trees bearing fruit of false gospels, and Lord Iesus is going to say He never knew them. Lord Iesus warned us to know them by what they proclaim. The unity is in agreement with the Gospel, and that unity is the true.

Where it comes to historical claims, I rely on awareness of the original source of the claim in order to perform my due diligence in regard to whether or not the claim is actual fact. I've heard many of these sorts of historical claims, and they seem plenty plausible, but there are never citations of sources or other evidence to support the validity of the claims. My opposition to Halloween stands on the fact that it's a celebration of evil and death as if those things are cool and fun and endearing. Would Lord Iesus ever support celebrating such things? Never. People ca simply be skeptical of the historical claims, so I suggest you consider presenting argumentation based on what is obviously factual. Shalom, and cheers.

My family and friends came to me asking this question pretty frequently during fall time, my answer: Halloween has both pagan and Christian roots, but nowadays modern celebration is mainly just secular. The holidays origins can be traced back to Samhain, a Celtic festival that was connected with the belief in threatening spirits, it took place in harvest season. The early Catholic Church may have Christianized Samhain and its eve as All Hallows' Day. The Church also held celebrations and vigils for saints and martyrs. So in reality theoretically it all depends on why and how you celebrate. I believe useless consumerism is not necessary such as large inflatables that just end up in the landfills. But to enjoy this time is not inherently evil or a sin. Certain practices such as costume wearing originated in the 15th century, to look like demons. This practice reminds me of Cherokee Booger Dances which can be explained through teaching morals. It’s a toss up to decide what is good and what is not in such a niche topic. It’s important to remember what Paul wrote, "'All things are lawful,' but not all things are helpful.” As long we remain faithful to God and worship him, and do his will, I think we will be fine. Here's my question, and it's not just about Christianity but all spiritual beliefs: Just as you said you can't understand why some people support certain political systems, I'm coming from a similar perspective. There are thousands of gods worshipped around the world, and it's impossible for me to examine all the texts. So, what do I do? Like with political systems, I look at the outcomes they have caused. When I see that the idea of a god (not just Christ) has led to wars and many deaths, and only became peaceful and good when it lost the power to cause harm, I'm unsure if the idea itself is now safe or if it's just safe because it no longer has the power to cause damage. In other words, if a majority of people who share a belief in a certain god have caused harm, it might not be just the people's fault. It could be a systematic failure or a deeper problem that makes me wary of the idea itself. Again, when I say "god," I don't mean necessarily your god. Nearly every belief-backed system in history has been associated with cruelty at some point.

I wish I'd found your reactions sooner. Love this!!! One key thing I've noticed in the video... is during the church scene, the priest drops his Bible before he goes up in flames. I struggle with my faith and Ronnie's music hits me hard. I kind of see it as he chose not to do that. The word is not the problem, the people representing it are. The prople twist the word how they want it. They don't live by the word themselves so inturn create the evil some of us see in religion. It's hard trying to find answers in a church where you can see they dont even practice what they preach.

I'm just now seeing this here so forgive my delay on responding (not that you asked me to). I should clarify that in that Twitch stream, the guy in the chat would not stop trying to convert Ronnie or bringing up god when he knew Ronnie did not want that to continue. And I'd never want to actually speak for him beyond what I have actually heard him say. I'd like to address the "not wanting to hear it, not wanting it to be true" aspect, as a Christian. I can only speak for myself in what drew me to his music when Watch the World Burn came out. I was a believer for 50 years. I was facing an illness at that time and had decided for the second time in my life to dig deep into the bible and increase my faith but this time truly put it to the test in the most unbiased way. To my shock and horror at the time none of it held up to scrutiny. My de-conversion was a painful process and not something I "wanted". The bell could not ever be un-rung despite trying to get it back. I have no ability to believe in it now and I think I can say I speak for quite a lot of us who used to be Christians as to that also being their experience. I have never talked to one single former believer who decided they didn't want to believe in Christianity anymore so they could live an easier life and none of it was "soothing" at the time. This is a huge misconception. I respect your beliefs. I can see you have passion. I know you believe you are right, but please understand there's so much more that goes into no longer believing than how you are looking at it. Just as you are saying that everyone believes Christians are narrow minded and how we can be that way, I would advise you to consider that many of us had very painful years of losing our faith. I can't say that's what Ronnie went through but I do recognize some aspects of his bitterness toward it. There can be a lot of spiritual baggage and even anger toward it once out of it. I am now at total and complete peace with my beliefs in a way that I never felt before but it took a long time to get there. We're all on our own journey and this video is part of his, also as it relates to his own daily struggles with feeling "crucified" by society so often for things he never did. IMO it's all an expression of him artistically working out his own trauma. That said, I appreciate your dialogue and wish you all the best!
