these look sick what are they called?
@EPAON123 Thanks! These are Rota RB wheels. A knockoff of the Rs Watanabes (which cost 4x more 🙃)
Man thats alot of work, Bravo! Im in the processes of restoring a 1980 Datsun and just finished dashboard repair. about to start tackling the rust. anything you recommend or cautionary advice?
@l.m3081 Thank you! It's been a long haul that's for sure. I guess I'd caution not to get too carried away with fixing the rust. I definitely went after spots that weren't really issues and just created more work for myself. A power drill and set of wire wheels work wonders. Save actual grinders for real heavy stuff. Take your time and don't be afraid to try and learn and try again. You got this! 👍
If I tried to drive my 1980 ZX down that same road the way you did with your G37 then I'd be dead. Be safe!
@fellowtrades7438 Appreciate ya man. Safety first 💯
Fantastic work. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for your vid, lots of information, I am ready to work on my 1983 z turbo. Did you make a video of removing windshield?
@chin3seatsit124 glad it was helpful! I just bought a windshield removal tool from harbor freight and cut it out with a friend. We didn't do very well and ended up cracking the glass, so unfortunately I'm not real qualified to share instructions on that 🙃
Just happened onto you and hell yeah nice to see another ax getting some love
oh my god the dinner plate tires hahaha
Yeah not my style for sure
280zx content! love it!
Thanks man! It's a labor of love
Great video. I was gonna feel my way through this same process this summer. Glad to see someone else do it and share their lessons learned lol
Happy to help my man! Learned a bunch for sure, but once I got into it, it wasn't too terrible. Good luck with the project!
Hey man, I just wanted to say that these videos have been insanely informative for me. I have an '82 Turbo with a bunch of similar rust issues. Your dashboard removal video is pretty much the gold standard in my eyes. Keep it up my dude!
Awesome man! Thank you so much for the kind words! Glad I could help out with your project. It's a labor of love keeping these aging beauties on the road. We're all in it together <3
Dude really? Its a dead mouse, keep going
OMG, like totally, really! OK. I'll keep going but only cause you told me to.
Amazing video dude! I remember couple of years ago I restore the wiring harness of my 1981 Datsun 720 pick up truck, it is a pretty intense job but with the right tools you can do that job pretty easy, also I restore the wiring harness of my 1977 Nissan Junior pick up, funny how in a couple of years the wiring keep the same color codes for almost everything
Thanks man! It's been a long process but so rewarding to have it coming together, and actually working!! (mostly... LOL)
You converted to a black dash? Did you sell the old one yet? I need one.
I restored and repainted the original dash. Polyvance makes an excellent line of products for the entire process, and has a great step-by-step video here on YT on how to do it. Highly recommend 👍
Dope, I finally got a 1982 280ZX Turbo 5 speed I’ll be doing a lot of the same with, as the previous owner completely stripped the car for paint inside and out and then lost interest. It’s been sitting in a garage for 14 or so years. It’s all there it’s just… everywhere instead of where it should be. lol
Awesome! Hope you're finding the content helpful 👍 It's been a slow process for me doing it in my spare time, but so satisfying to see it coming together. Love seeing more people working on the S130. Thanks for watching!

Can you give a demonstration of how to change the driver side door latch? My 280ZX driver side door,, wont stay closed.
Always something with these cars lol. I haven't worked on my door latches yet, but I highly recommend getting a copy of the Factory Service Manual: www.xenonzcar.com/s130/fsm.php It will have step-by-step instructions for pretty much anything you can think of. And probably be a faster solution than waiting for me to put something together.
Thank you for documenting this.... it will help with my 280ZX 83
My pleasure, thanks for watching!
I have a 83 red and black one and the voice module works...
Ooh nice! Take good care of her. They're getting harder to find in OG condition. Mine certainly isn't lol
