What is the "Sacred Heart of Jesus?" (#282)
Просмотров 13День назад
Source: www.podbean.com/eau/pb-iatug-1740dfb Catholics talk about the "Sacred Heart of Jesus." There are images, paintings, and devotional prayers dedicated to it, and Pope Francis just released a 30,000 word encyclical about it. To Protestants or American Evangelicals, the language and images feel kind of weird. But what is it? Greg and Cory unpack the concept, imagery, history, and practices....

Source: www.podbean.com/eau/pb-mtt4i-1710cd1 The Catholic Church teaches that in addition to Heaven and Hell, there is a third possible destination for a soul upon death: Purgatory. Monks determined how much of the funds they collected should be given to God in an interesting way too. They held the cash in their hands, said a prayer and tossed all of it skyward to God in the heavens. Whatever God did not keep and allow to fall back to them, they kept for themselves.

    Americans they have a huge lack of history, I thank the lord for me being born in a nation that was born for Christ and this nation is Portugal the first Europe’s nation state with one of their own as king and how the first king of Portugal a secret Templar was related to Bernard de Clairvaux, head of the Cistercians. who he was related to and how eleven knights created a new country and a refuge for the holy grail 🙏 and than later on after 500 years to evangelized over the whole world to make known the name of our lord Jesus as our true god and true man,among our brothers from Spain later on, all thanks for these nine men who formed a brotherhood called the night Templars in Jerusalem in 1118 to provide protection for pilgrims from traveling to the holy land, but this order of the temple existed a decade earlier on the opposite side of Europe ( Portugal ) that the protection of pilgrims was entrusted to a separate organization, and that in league with the Cistercian monks and the equally mysterious Order of Sion, the Templars executed one of history’s most daring and convert plans, the creation of Europe’s first Templar nation, Portugal, with night Templars who came from Israel to my little Portugal to establish a powerful nation to defend our true Christian faith of the divinity of Christ as true man and god, the mother of god,her virginity of our blessed mother and the holiness of Mary Magdalena etc. and to protect the holy grail because our enemies the Islamic and Muslims were invading Portugal and Spain and also they wanted to destroy the holy land and to make it disappear Christianity but all thanks to God in the first battle in Portugal by the power of our mighty God, as Afonso was praying the whole night our lord Jesus appeared to him on the cross and instructed him to draw his cross on their clothes of arms and on the flags and that Jesus himself with his legions were going to battle with them, so Jesus said to Afonso do not be afraid and that his cross was going to win against all of his enemies, viva Portugal 🇵🇹 and viva Spain 🇪🇸 the only nations in the world who evangelized over the pagan nations 🙏❤️and this brings me to Ephesians 6,10-17

    It’s funny you talking about people wanting to see the bible in your hands, my understanding is that in the early church with the priest facing east the congregation wanted to see the host after the consecration. So they would say “let us see” so priests started to lift the host above their head.

    Acts 2:38-41 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added THAT DAY about three thousand souls.

    Being in “communion with the Catholic Church” does not save you. Even if you follow all the rules and go to every mass. Jesus said you’ll know them by their fruits. Becoming a member of the church cannot save you and doesn’t make you somehow more holy in the eyes of God. Jesus never said to join his church. He said to repent and be baptized and you shall be saved. He said to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself. He never commanded to sit through a theology course and join a church. So by making people go through months of classes to be baptized the Catholic Church is creating a very unnecessary barrier and burden between people believing and then actually becoming baptized. Someone could potentially go through all of those things and get baptized without ever truly believing and still go to hell. Whereas a genuine believer would be denied the chance of Heaven because they were refused baptism on the basis of not having enough knowledge of the Catholic traditions. Mark 16:16, John 3:5

  • @Wewillbeokay8

    There’s no registration fee to join a Protestant church and you do have to be attending the church for some time and be involved to generally become a member. HOWEVER, if you decide to give your life over to Christ you can do so with a heartfelt repentant heart. And then moving forward you live your life for Christ with the help of the Holy Spirit, prayer and genuine faith in love for the Lord. In the Bible when someone decided to follow Christ it was always in that instant! They heard the gospel, repented and believed. They were immediately Christ’s followers. There was no half a year’s worth of classes and membership paperwork. You just followed Christ. So why would someone have to go through all of that now? It truly makes no sense.

  • @Wewillbeokay8
    @Wewillbeokay8 7 месяцев назад

    I am writing this comment before having listened to the podcast, but in the Bible when the apostles preached to crowds they heard the gospel and were immediately baptized that day “having heard & believing”. It really should just be that simple.

    There is such a large number of christians that embrace the lies of Trump, Globe Earth Denial, Evolution Denial, Vaccine Denial, etc...why, if christ leads them to "truth"? Christians clamor daily about embracing the so called "truth" of christ. Personally, I would never be able to trust the testimony of christians when it comes to christ because of the countless lies they embrace. The overwhelming examples of christians embracing lies makes their so called "truth" irrelevant and moot.

    Far from being impractical, it's the most "practical," common-sense thing to do because it's the most real way for anyone to live. I've lived as a non-believer and as a Catholic. I know many non-believers and many Catholics. The difference is palpable. There is no true joy and peace of soul, nor full forgiveness without Christ. A non-believer can only forgive up to a certain point. A non-believer can have plenty of pleasure but no true and permanent joy.

    The Nazi movement was not, on the whole, atheistic. It inherited and built upon centuries of religious-based prejudice. While Hitler himself indulged pagan (not atheist) symbolism and mythos, the lion's share of Nazi leadership was soundly, unambiguously Christian.

    I'm sorry Christians, you're not crazy, you are just really, really, really impressionable and you believe in magic. In a normal world that makes you silly if you are an adult. We don't hate you. We want you to practice your religion as you wish. The problem is that you have way too much political power and your beliefs in magic and spirits and ghosts and Jesus is starting to affect the day to day life of people who do not believe in those thing. We need freedom from religion too and this video just popped up on my feed.
