People should be reading the labels of everything! Once u delve into this you'll never look at supermarkets or all of these industries the same way ever again. They are making us sick!!

    I am part of the doll community. Now, I ain't part of the reborn or American Girl dollside of things but I got into the doll community with an expensive brand called Smart Doll. Smart Doll is a 2ft tall (hinge doll) bjd that looks like anime girls (and some guys) and is created by the son of Jimmy Choo (the shoe brand). However, these are all the tip of the iceberg as the bjd (ball-jointed doll) community is a multimillion community with many large companies that sell castings of bjds for hundreds of dollars. I have at least 5k plit between 2 Smart Dolls(1/3), one Aimerai * Codenoir (uncle sized) bjd, 2 (1/4th sized) bjds from a niche doll artist "Logan Dolls", and 1 (1/3rd sized) bjd done by another artist "Ace of Dolls". The clothes are way more expensive than human clothes. For most you can change out the eyes, for some you can change the hair (with wigs) and with very little you can change out the hands (for different gestures). People will mix and match different branded dolls to get different looks. I am currently working on my own bjd brand. The doll community is very broad. Graveyard Girl has delved into bjds, reborn, and other types of dolls in the past on one of her other channels.

    Very interesting discussion and kudos to both of you for putting a lot of hours into preparing for it. The examples of men's spaces you found were on the higher end of both balance and quality. I would like to address the topic y'all brought up at 33:30. While men probably aren't listening to the podcasts, a good amount of men are absolutely hearing that message everywhere (from socially to social media to even from school authorities), they absolutely think that that's what women really think, and some men are taking it 100% seriously. It often strays into misandry, like Lucy pointed out, and is absolutely contributing to the gender division and the rise of folks like Andrew Tate. I think men need to understand that some of that discourse is said, like Jennifer said, in jest or just to vent but women need to understand that when enough men hear things like "men are trash" loudly and for long enough, it has an effect. Nobody would argue with "some men are trash", but men also need to hear that they're valued and wanted, or that they have a path to improve with specific solutions and actions, and the only spaces where that's happening are in the men's only spaces y'all found. I would also recommend Chris Williamson for another example of a more male leaning, but very balanced and open, discussion space

      I agree with what you're saying here. I'm a 46 year old man, and I'm friends with a lot of men from roughly the ages of 25-55. Some men are listening to podcasts, and they share with other men what they find.

      When I was about 20 years old, this was in 1997, my friends and I made a research project out of reading women's romance novels, as found at the grocery store. We each bought two books, and we gave a book report to one another about what we found -- there were three of us, so it was six books. It really changed our whole outlook on women and relationships. Men scan.

    That's really interesting. I guess it has its good bits, but if there's a pressure to have fun, there's definitely not only pressure and anxiety, there's also a decreasing respect for introspection. Not to mention we need space for boredom, it is absolutely essential for original ideas and inventions.

    Yep, I'm 57 and have never regretted not having kids. Motherhood just never appealed to me. And before you call me selfish i look after my disabled partner and am very involved in assisting older people who need help with taking them to appointments or shopping and deliver food when they are unwell (and, yes they have grown children who are too busy or possible lazy to help). Live your life and do good in whatever way you can.

  • @Leah-izSic
    @Leah-izSic 11 месяцев назад

    So you don't want to bring life into the world because you want to travel? That's selfish as hell tbh, I'm ok with people not wanting kids. That's fine. Do what you want with your life, but to simplify it to such selfish ideals is ridiculous. I love my babies. I wouldn't change having them for anything in this entire world. I would rather struggle with my babies than be childless and a millionaire. Your reasons seem trivial other than the health factor, that is a fear that follows my family as Nuerofibromatosis runs in my family it causes flesh colored moles that are actually tumors to grow all over the body head to toe. My mother has it everywhere and was told she was selfish for getting pregnant with me, and she should abort to prevent this possibility. I even died in her womb at one point they thought that I'd have to be removed medically from my mother's body and again she refused and got a second opinion and they found my heartbeat frail and barely there but here I am 30 some odd years later and I can't tell you how grateful I am that she refused to listen.

    • @CorrectsYou
      @CorrectsYou 11 месяцев назад

      Nobody is telling you not to love your babies, and her choosing not to have them because raising them would make her miserable based on her standards of living is not selfish. The babies have to exist before life decisions that would effect their raising become selfish.

    • @Leah-izSic
      @Leah-izSic 11 месяцев назад

      @@CorrectsYou she has no idea if it would make her miserable she said herself she's confused and I never said that she claimed I couldn't love my babies. I stand by what I said saying you don't want to have children because of her reasoning sounds selfish.
