Lol lived in salinas my whole life. Just got out but not too far lol salinas is 15 minutes away. I havent even seen the video. Just too funny because there arent really pros so wanted to see what is being advertised about it. Haha. About to find out. Just spent my life trying to leave that place. 🤣

Please just visit. The influx of people to this area has caused real estate prices to soar. I was born and raised in PG, but, along with many others, I’ve had to purchase a home in Salinas and commute in to work and care for my parents. You won’t find a home here for less than a million, and that will be a fixer upper. Many properties are being purchased by people making big bucks in places like Silicon Valley, Sacramento, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. The real estate agent you’re watching makes big bucks selling our property. That’s why he pushing this area so hard. He doesn’t care what he ruins as long as he’s raking in the bucks. I don’t know where he’s from, but I don’t think he’s local. He’s guessing at his dialogue. I saw a clip of him pushing Carmel property yesterday. (More expensive than PG.) He’s hitting regions where the property values are high, but such people are ruining our community.

Been a resident since 1966. Great place to grow up; fields of sage, chaparral and cattle, foggy wind swept coast line to get lost on and acres of Eucalyptus trees. So much freedom and so little direct supervision. "New" smell,? The compost digester at the land fill. "Old" smell, the Giodotti hog ranch that, ironically, was the neighborhood between Windy Hill Park and the Marina airport.(Formerly Fritzi Army Air Field) Always a bit piquant on a Nov. Morning with an Easterly breeze. Been around the world a couple of times and I always end up here. Spendy?. yes, but worth every dime.

Just stop over pricing the homes no one can afford to buy them.

I rather live in Fremont than living in Salinas. Salinas is a living hell with gang violence and a lot of arrogant people too. Plus, it is so expensive to live there.

We wish they would have turned parts of Fort Ord into a Del Webb type retirement community. The prices of double wides in the Monarch Pines have gone through the roof.

Police and gangs will harass you or worse, depending on how you look in Salinas.

I’m so glad you let the haters who hates California. I’m a long haul trucker and has been for 17 years now. I travel up and down the California coast because I haul mainly refrigerated cargo. These fresh produce ships to around the country including Canada. Especially during winter months those states that gets snowed in , gets their fresh fruits and vegetables from California.

Oh you poor sorry tourist. If you don’t like Monterey, don’t come here. We love Monterey, they are lovely, resilient people who have had some hard years since Covid. Ride the trolley, eat some ice cream, play some boche ball. Listen to music at Cibo, sip some scotch at the Mucky Duck. Our people are beautiful inside & out. Stay away Mr. Poopy Pants or we will come & criticize your town.

I lived in Monterey for 3 years. The locals are very weird. Everyone is in a clique and they hate outsiders. Moving away was a great decision. The weather sucks most of the year and locals are indeed miserable A F!

Wow. Everything in the “review” is the exact opposite of my experience every time I visit the area. Maybe somebody should explain to this person the concept of getting back what you put out there.

I lived there from 96 to 98. I was a bartender at The Gold Rush. Crazy times!! The smell he’s talking comes from Gilroy Garlic Factorys when the winds come down from the the north and to to ocean. I can’t believe this guy doesn’t know that. Maybe he should take a trip to Gilroy. He’ll find the same smell there.

Been there , done that , it is all about the money . Local government ? " tourist trap " , not that much . Good people , some . The tourists , WOW, not in a good way . Exspensive yes , otherwise a decent place . The original (?) capital of California . Yes or no , yes .
