My favorite spooky sso tale is the glueman lol. I know, it’s silly yeah but here’s why; yes the story ain’t scary rlly, but like if u take a hot minute and think about it, and put yo self in the shoes of a glueman horse owner victim, I’m sorry but no thanks I’m having an aneurism

I was annoyed when they changed jumping. I enjoyed the quest and liked the fact that jumping was limited to Star Riders. I am also not thrilled with the magic horses being available to all players. It kinda feels like many of the things that were reserved for star riders are being opened up to non star riders. I paid for the membership from the beginning and then got the forever one. I do like that the trail ride prizes are star rider only. Sometimes it seems as if SSO is forgetting about those that pay to play. I went into this game knowing that to fully immerse I would need to pay.

I just wish I had joined earlier (I joined 2018) but I say that as if I was born a little late for that. It’s the convenience if that makes sense. Not needing to run to the mailbox, global store (that’s kind of useless) broken quests (kind of? Idk they’re boring. Might just be a me problem) but it just seemed cooler back then

Been playing since 2014, I always had a rule: Never delete any horses. And I didn't, ever. But after a long break, I came back recently to play, and all of my horses were gone. And now in 2024 there's no chance to get them back, I have no idea what's happened with my account, I contacted SSO about it and they couldn't help. I had a black G1 friesian called hawkeye, he was my favorite, and a G1 fjord. I'll miss them both

They're making the game easier removing the challenge and it sucks... it is another thing that makes the next gen of kids CODDLED. Bcs we were able to handle these 'challenges' right? It was fun! Not scary... why wouldn't the kids these days?

Though it was freely and some times scared the crap out of the little child I used to be when I played during this era of the game, and I am grateful for the fact that I was able to play during those days, and I truly has broadened my view on how much the game has progressed. Though I miss the old game, I without a doubt enjoy the modernize game

Also when reuniting alex with tin-can, we start to understand horses. When we start the game, we don't have the ability to understand horses, but then suddenly we act as if we had the ability the whole time. I think they should make a new quest about it

It's like so much lore went into making the original SSO. 12 previous games and some additional cartoons. And you can tell the quality of quests dropped, when they started rewriting their own stuff instead of adding to existing lore. The arrogance of thinking you can make something in a hurry that will excite players more than a storyline crafted over a decade 🙁 We didn't want xenophobic talking wild horses that send letters to each other and a glued on druid cult that makes magic an everyday phenomenon. We wanted the spookiness, humour and detective work of the original Star games 🥲

I miss the old graphics so bad 😭 The characters and places were so iconic but now its just washed with softener. Like Doyles Abbey used to be creepy when I was younger, but in a cool, mysterious way.

And omg yes the need to get feed again. I need it back. Im ridding this horse to death. And im so used to feed it or do anything. Like in red dead redemption

I joined when we still had the old graffics. I couldn't figure out how to follow qeust Lines or understand how to do anything 😅 at least that's how I remember it. I rejoined cos i wanted a horse game and was really happy with how they have made the models. Everything is super easy now. Like maybe to easy. It made me skip so much dialogue until some of them started talking about some wierd stuff. And it actually made me pay attention. As for horses care or global store. I don't use them. It's more fun to go to the different stores and buy what I need. Like with the hair dresser. I have played for 2 weeks and love it. But I feel like something's missing too. And this explains it pretty well.

I think what new sso is doing is that they are definitely catering towards their newer audience that being younger kids who are used to games being pretty convenient, sso thinks that their older player base is leaving so they need to change their game for the new audiences which makes sense but they didn’t have to take the soul from the game now it just feels like a airbrushed version of the old one. ;/

I joined sso relatively late in comparison to some ogs (2017-2018) however I really miss the way sso looked not for nostalgia since I didn’t get to experience old 2013 sso nostalgia but for the way the game looked, the style, the characters, the horses, the animations everything! I know it comparison to new games sso’s old look is outdated but I love the way 2000s style games look, the slightly unsettling feeling and realness is way more exciting then sso now. But that’s just my opinion!

I used to wake up early wnough before school just to play sso. Every point you had is perfect, they really did take the life and challenge out of it. I miss the ferries, the bus, three separate trailers. the cold tolerance is what i miss the most!! im still working on finding the last dino skeleton just to have a reason to go to dino valley and i pray they dont update it soon. I hate how fast it is to complete quests or travel. I now purposely ride across the map just to get that immersive feeling again. Also, no one talks to each other anymore. Its so heartbreaking.

the caroline soundtrack was 10 years ago..? i remember that like it was yesterday...

personally i started playing sso in 2020. i was 10 then, covid started and because of sso i had something fun to do! it wasn’t exactly like the really old sso, but there were still a lot of features that are just.. gone now. as a young child i used to watch a lot of sso content, in 2018 especially. with the special, colorful shire horses and stuff. so i was so happy when i could download the game! i played a lot, with my friends as well. but as the years went by, all the unnecessary updates came in. sure, the graphic is so much better now, everything looks prettier. but it doesn’t feel personal. where is the charm? the new players also get super pretty clothing now in the beginning, you don’t even have the desire to get new clothes that quickly. no brown saddles and orange tshirts. i also still tap w all the time, because the horse used to slow down when you don’t lmao. maybe i just grew up and that’s why sso isn’t so charming to me anymore, but something also just feels.. different.

One thing I truly miss is the old music, why did they feel the need to change everything 😔💔
