Ford 841 Tractor Ep22: Making a Stand for the Dearborn 10-80 Plow
Просмотров 6102 года назад
I was able to buy this two disc plow and put it to work this year in the garden, but it's been a real pain to put on, as it's really heavy and won't stand up on it's factory prop. One of this year's spring projects was to make a stand for this plow so it will be easier to use and clean. I grabbed some wood scraps and bought some good lag bolts...and you can check out the results. Check out my o...

    I removed the end loader from my Ford 3400 last week. Wish I’d had a hoist like that. I used hi rise farm jacks mostly. I had to cut off the fender bolts and one of the front bolts. I disconnected the boom arms from the main frame assembly. Getting the main frame finessed away from the tractor was a nightmare. The whole experience has been a nightmare actually. It has been one heck of a learning experience though. Once I get the tractor working properly I hope getting the end loader reinstalled will be much easier. I plan on using 1” pins in the front instead of bolts.

    My brother took the front end loader off of 631 and took the forklift off of his 860 and out the loader on his. He then gave me the 631, got it running and out on some 14.00x24 tires to use it. The ford loader used a front hydraulic pump moved from the 631. I got the cover from the 860 to use the tractor hydraulics for a customized Case loader modified for fruit lugs on the 631. I had to install power steering as the 631 was no longer able to be safely steered with the additional weight on the front. To remove the new loader on the 631, I uncouple two hose couplers pull a bolt at each cc axle and two bolts on each side by the bell housing. With a cherry picker, I can pick the weight of the front end loader and back the tractor out of the loader (hoisting the back of the loader to clear the vertical exhaust). If I re couple the hoses on the tractor, the three point works with an added filter. Have fun

    I have a 52 8N with Wagner Loader... I use it to pull stumps as well I keep bucket on for more leverage like other commenter had mentioned... Depending on stump size and species of tree will dictate how much digging with shovel still has to be done ...My biggest problem with this method is rear of tractor raising into the air... I have a platform attached to the 3pt hitch that I have 3 55 gallon drums filled with water to help with situation....it helps... but could be better..I noticed you had nothing on the rear of tractor to help hold it down ...this method beats the other way I pull them ...that's with a 35" truck tire mounted on rim and chains or straps and a 4×4 to pull ... Roll tire up against the tree stump. On the top of the tire Run chain down the center of tire.. where the chain meets stump at back of tire hang chain down to lowest level that you can wrap around lowest level of stump.. attach chain to pulling vehicle in a straight line with the stump as possible...or tire will fall over..etc..and pull ..tire acts as leverage and rolls away from stump with chain riding on top of tire and pulling upward on stump at same time.. takes some messing with to figure out little tweeks and things so it will go more smoothly... But it works well and has Treemendous pulling power...see what I did with the TREEmendous thing...lol...Good video it's interesting to see how different people tackle the same problems... Thank you!

    Well done videos. You're missing the two straight steel straight steel stabilizer bars that go from your ball hitch pins to below the fenders. They control the side to side sway. You can order the straight ones... some that have some adjustment in length. Your top link is too short. You might also lengthen your top link so that both discs are touching the ground at the same time on level ground.. Hope this helps. We have had our 841 for 15 years and use it for many tasks. • @frankdavidson9675
      @frankdavidson9675 2 года назад

      coils are robust compared to other parts in dist cond. is first to go most of the time this causes pitting i n the points if you have pitting in points replace condenser --- it must be correct value mfd to match the coil electricly if not that causes pitting now all the points do is this as they open this remover the gd from cond lead and coil lead and points all connn that tiny screw thats side ways ---to prove this conn a ohm meter to that screwthe other meter lead to gd it depends on points open or closed if you get a reading open and close the points the reading will come and go . when everthing is working right this is what happens with switch on batt is conn to coil post as the points open that voltage flowes thru primary coil to the cond creating a magnet field in the secondary coil and due to turns ratio this a high voltage going to the dist top to fire a plug as point close this stops this happens very fast

    • @Zehn-X
      @Zehn-X 2 года назад

      Hello Killerman, thanks for the comment. The manual for this tractor has a step by step troubleshooting routine if there's an actual mechanical failure in your system. Mine worked previously, so I skipped it this time. If I didn't have pressurized air, I would probably seal the fill and dipstick holes, then take the pump off and fill the send and return ports with as much hyd oil as it would take, then fill the pump with oil too and put them together like a sloppy joe. Tighten it up and try the engine and system as soon as I can to see if I'd get/keep prime. I'd then unload the extra oil if it worked, or catch it under my dipstick hole. Another option is to build the hose like I did, attach it to the hole on the pump and while running the tractor, use vacuum on the hose. All that said, my experience with this is relatively low, post your specific circumstance in the Ford forum on YesterdaysTractors.com - lots of people there who are happy to help!

      @@qwins5200 well, after you go eat some protein, take a nap and reconsider your life choices, you'll be more ready to recognize that what you've quoted is EXACTLY what you're requesting. Next time read the other comments, ask a question, and maybe you'll receive what you want.

      @@qwins5200 haha nice. Because it tries to turn over, you have fuel and spark. You'll probably have to pull the distributor, get tdc and align the rotor to plug one. Happy to help if you have questions.

    I have that exact problem. You saying the distributor may need to be adjusted?

      Awesome, that's why I posted this video. Yes - When you have TDC, the distributor rotor should be pointed at plug one wire. To do this, pull out plug one and the distributor, then turn the crank until you have air rushing out of the plug one hole. Then adjust the distributor so that when you drop it in place, it ends up pointing at plug one wire position. You'll have to have the distributor cap off to know where the rotor is pointing, so you might mark the position ahead of time. Good luck! Happy to help if you have more questions.
