RD400 Ignitech CDI. Goodbye points!
Просмотров 2,1 тыс.4 года назад
Installed the Ignitech DCCDIP2 programmable ignition. Set the base timing with a dial indicator and it fired first kick. Very impressed so far!

Finally got my RD fired up. Sounds good so far, just need a little time on it before I start tuning.
Warming up the RX-3 (dash view)

A short video of the RX-3 warming up, on pump gas.
Can you make a very detailed video on this
What size and kind of fuel line did you use?

Finally got to your page and seen the engine.... Sounds so musical...
Thank you Buddy!
@@13BTRX3 You're welcome! Thank you for the subscription add!!!
Nice!!
Useless video unless you show the effect on the rotor blades.
You can see the blades
This is good info to have.. Have you tried this on the new gsxr 1000 coils or gen 3 Hayabusa coils?
I have not, only the gen 1 Hayabusa.
@@13BTRX3 I've heard they're supposed to be better coils, but I can't find any info that says for certain that they are. They just cost more. Lol. Do you remember what rpm you were testing these at? You may have shown it in the video and I might have missed it. I'm trying to bump mine up in the stock ecu, and I know they're higher in the lower RPMs. Just recently got my Gen 2 motor back going, and I may have went a little excessive on the compression ratio and it was cutting up in the higher RPMs. So I closed the gap to 014 and it fixed it.
@@TEAMWRIGHTEOUS it was a relatively low rpm, as high as the MaxxEcu could pulse them though. I haven't had any ignition issues, but my bike is stock. I don't think that oversaturating the coils is a good solution, long term. Set the dwell time time where it should be, and if it's inadequate, start looking at aftermarket coils with a shorter charge time.
@@13BTRX3 that's the plan next. But I've got spare coils laying around. So if I can bump it up 0.5ms and get it to light the fuel with less gap, then I'll run it for a while. It's strictly a drag bike, so it's only going to see increased saturation for 6 seconds at a time. And if I kill a set of coils, I'll swap in another set of stock ones and put it back to the stock settings in the ecu.
@@13BTRX3 I'll see if I can find where you're at in Maxx ECU and see what it goes up to. I have the MTune software for the Maxx bikes we tune. Appreciate the great video and info.
What AN adaptors you use to connect on EFI lines.
Russell quick disconnects.
@@13BTRX3 thanks for repply...but what size? 5/16?
The pump and rail is 5/16, the filter is 3/8
What pump?
Bosch 69420
What exactly are we watching/looking at? An electrical fire on a telephone//power pole??
It's a flare on a drilling rig.
I have an rd350 with the same exhaust system. I was wondering if you could tell me what sized jets you have in it, as I am having some tuning issues.
I'm running PWK 28mm, not the stock carbs.
Still show this video to people.
Awesome machine. Car still around?
Thank you. It sure is, hopefully it'll be out in the spring! It's been a couple years since I've made any passes.
Nice👍
Looks quite easy to engineer!
Весьма серьёзный автомат перекоса ! Превосходный сюжет!!!
это 15-местный вертолет. вещь красоты!
Blur all d way can only c ghost..
Happen to know what handlebars those are? kind of the same height and bend I am looking for.
If I recall correctly, they are emgo superbike bars.
Hi , I see you are running the ignitec system, are you running charge coil for the 12 volts battery system? Did you need to make up your map or was there a good default for the RD ? Nice bike mate well done.
Thank you. Yes, in still running the original alternator, I just fabricated mounting points for the pickups. They sent a base map but I modified it a bit, it was a little too aggressive for my setup. I have used base maps from a banshee, and an rd400e. Both worked well.
Didn't know swashplate was powered by hydraulic
some are some are direct similar to a car steering system
On medium to large helicopters the force needed to move the rotor blades is far more than a human can handle and needs hydraulic boosting, also the autopilot systems required hydraulic or electrical actuators to move the flight controls.
@@johno9507great point about autopilot. On small airplanes when people add autopilot they have to add motors, or repurpose ones used for trim etc.
Fly by wire or direct controls.
Que buena moto se ve y suena de 10! Una locura
Sounds good 👍, I just bought one to restore and it doesn't have the original engine so Ill probably go the briggs and stratton route as well.
Faaa de 10 como gatillazo conbesos carburadores.salu Rafa de Argentina mardel
great bike. What ignition are u using?
Thank you. Stock points for now.
@@13BTRX3 sounds great! And u are not having problem with points?
Only have about 100 miles on the bike and have reset the timing twice already. They were brand new points so they may have just settled in though. I plan on going with a programmable cdi ignition soon though. I just want the piece of mind that once it's set, it doesn't need any attention.
Man the bike sounds great!!! I got a 79 RD400F Daytona I need to get back to work on.
Thank you. They are a blast!
You got that right!!
I'm starting resto on one this week :) (Sydney)
Sounds awesome, love those bikes!
Thank you!

love that cluster
it should not run that hot
That dude about hit the ground! haha
That has to be a very intense 8 seconds.
It'll roll your socks up and down.
Its a shame you wont have room for the orig.variable ratio.pulley system. But,with that 7 or 8 hp,you wont really need it!(I think they were2.2 hp).
I plan on making one its an awesome way to piss off the neighbors haha
Wow, sounds pretty crazy!
Thank you.
