5 guys from the Notre Dame Glee Club singing Rockapella's "Zombie Jamboree" during their annual Fall concert. Arranged by Deke Sharon.
In your channel name does it mean Adult Contemp?
Same on European Tour '75, Clark. You got me a BOAC bag for the trip!
Ritmo, ironia, amore per la musica... Perfetta...❤❤ Bye from Italy 🖐️🎼🎸🎺🎵🇮🇹
Classic best 80
Wonderful song ❤
yes very classic
I saw them in concert in 87. I recall having danced in the aisles when they sang this.
same here except it was late 86, saw them with Sergio Mendes. Sergio Mendes died at 83, from Long Covid, famous for 11 AC Hits which means he breaks the 10-hit song barrier and gets an AC Discography tribute. For the memory of him and Brasil 66,77,86. Saw him@Ft Lauderdale FL Convention Ctr I won trivia ? @ 105.9 WAXY FM. Took grandparents in 1986 Manhattan Transfer joined Sergio on stage. All loved it! I was 15!
Who could ever forget Lohengrin on the Club's first European tour in 1971..terrific. Class of 1974.
Brilliant
In 1988 I was in the Navy and bought this on cassette tape in a mall in North Carolina. I was SO homesick until I got home and began playing 'Brasil'. I wore it OUT and felt happy and joyous whenever I heard it. Magical music which turned me on to Djavan, the Caymmi familia, Ivan Lins and the magnificent music of the immensely talented musicians of Brasil .
Djavan!!
good
Anyone know what this song was talking about?
Troppo forti rallegrano le cuffie. Ritmica perfetta numeri uno.....
Mitici
Harmonies straight from heaven.
Predivna muzika
Composer: DJAVAN - BRASIL ; )
I used to watch VH1 countdown. I would wait for this video to come on!!! I miss the days when VH1 actually had music and no reality TV!!! 🤗😢
I first heard this song at 4 years old. It took over 30 years for me to find this song again. Thank you Google 😊
The album is phenomenal with awesome elaborations on Djavan. This music video, though, is entirely unexpected at the same time that it's so very them. So curiously weird. Must have been so fun to work on this video back in the 80s.
Brings such a good memories!!
Gosh I played this on play on video cassette everyday without fail........the greatest vocal group of all time
The first time I seen this was on BET
oh, hijo putas, losers, vagos, increible que no haya un directo con sus lyrics de shit en ingles...por puesto rip a quien sea... gentuza
Love. This. Group
Great. Dinner. Music
Love this 👍🏽
Muito bom!! Não conhecia essa versão... I loved it!!
J'ai retrouvé une cassette enregistrée dans les années 80 sur ma radio préférée. Il n'y avait pas le titre, ni l'interprète. Merci à Shazam d'avoir trouvé.
I think this is my fave song by them. Some great live versions available on RUclips and this studio version, all make me feel good and in a heartbeat groove with the song. Love the bass, love the percussion, love Tim on lead vocals with the other three doing their normal stellar best. In this case, singing background vocals.
Wtf. Jesus this is fucking horrible
How perfect is this?! Miss you, Tim Hauser.
L O V E! Memories of simpler times....x
Great vocal group! And this song was (and is actually) great and cool. For Tim Hauser!!!
I was seven when "Brasil" was released. Remember it like it was yesterday. Much love to the transfer and the legendary Tim Hauser. Thanks so much for this post.
this is one of my favorite songs of all time. Check out POMLAD's version of this. Outstanding! I'm sorry to hear about Tim.
+jones 4 walls Agree. Great song. The video makes it even better. They seemed to enjoy making it (except for the chef-lol).
Rest in Peace Tim Hauser. This was my favorite of theirs!
Class of 1968 here. What m,memories!! I love this
No, I meant exactly that, Lord Invader, a Trinidadian calypsonian whose real name was Rupert Grant.
I must not have a sense of humor, I didn't find this anywhere near as amusing as the crowd.
Don't you mean Lord Intruder ^^
@tarmbruster1 What's the title of the cd? I know Notre Dame's Men's Glee Club has recorded this number on cd. What about Michigan's Men's Glee Club? Is this number recorded on one of their cd's, and if so, what's the title of the cd?
Just beautiful.
Most of his songs were originally written by Trinidadian calysonians.
@bartvkessel Not at all. None of the calypsos sang by Belafonte were his creations.
@vanillapop21 You can't be serious. Lol.
wow...these guys are actually pretty good..smiles
my high school's boys choir sings this every year, and the are amazing!! but these guys are okay too
If you think this was beautiful, get the recording. I listened to it for days.
This may possibly be the most beautiful piece of music I've ever heard.
Wrong! "Zombie Jamboree" was originally sung by the Lord Invader in the 1950's. Please get your information right before posting. Rockapella's version was only one of a long line of cover versions.
That it is, bigj, that it is. I'm glad the U of M Glee Club is sounding so good, 'cause the football team these days....well.... GO BLUE!
