I received no compensation from Jones Bikes for this video. I just love his products and thought it would be fun to film my ride up at the Mt Bachelor Bike Park. This might be the first fully-rigid bike to be caught on camera up at Mt. Bachelor! I appreciate all feedback, questions about the bike, comments, and suggestions for improvements.

Biking Roxy Ann/Prescott Park - Greenhorn Trail on a Jones Spaceframe (Ti) + Jones H Bars (Carbon)
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.4 года назад
Biking Roxy Ann/Prescott Park in Medford on the Greenhorn trail, riding a Jones Spaceframe. Trail conditions were pretty dry, and it was a really nice day with quite a few people up there, so I didn't break any speed records, but it was fun! I was fortunate enough to have the trail to myself during those 3 minutes, which is somewhat rare. Bike: Jones Spaceframe (titanium) with Jones H Bars (car...
DJI Osmo Action - Rocksteady On vs Rocksteady Off vs Dewarp On vs Dewarp Off vs HDR
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.4 года назад
This video is straightforward - just clips of the DJI Osmo Action with Rocksteady mode on and off; Dewarp on and off; and Dewarp on and off in HDR mode. You should decide for yourself, but our conclusion? Regular 4K video with Rocksteady Mode On, while it does slightly reduce our field of view, it more than makes up for it by creating a very smooth image. Dewarp on vs off was not all that notic...

Over kill...to much bike...but with a motor
Good video, thanks 📸
if you can afford it?!!!
rider with wisdom!! Much more important in this world!!!
Not a 'spaceframe' by any stretch of the imagination - simply a marketing gimmick name.
Those trails look like a worn out Nevada working girl, very tired, filthy and spent.
For the price, just leave it as a bike packing bike, because for $7K you'll a fantastic DH or Enduro with top notch components.
i did big sky montana on a redline monocog ... lol.. do not reccomend
what is the lightest ever built on this titanium spaceframe?
I have not rode a bike for a long time, then tried riding a hardtail, with the suspension in the front it feels weird, so I returned it to the shop. I will be buying rigid probably a marin dsx1. I just remember riding a bicycle back then we don’t know about suspensions. We just have fun.
Thank you for the review! Great video, just loved all the great shot and amazing scenery. Just recently opened a new bike shop in Cadillac Michigan and we are a jones dealer (Einstein Cycles ) and I just starting looking at these bikes in more depth… the more I look the more I love what I see and hear.
Still riding the Jones?
Many thanks for the informative video. When riding downhill on your Jones in the bike park, did you lower your seatpost? Generally, don't you miss a dropper post on your Jones?
How bad is chain rub on the tire?
With the C-Rims and the Bulldozer 3.25" tires, it makes using the lowest gear nearly impossible -- you CAN, but grinding a greasy chain the sidewall of a $100 tire is not for me. If you can tolerate really wide Q, you could get a wider crank to change the chain angle, but what I would do is get rims that are 35mm inside width instead of 49 like on the C-Rims. I think the Bulldozers would round out enough to clear the chainline, and also corner like tires should without worries about rolling off at reasonable pressures. Maybe 40mm inside would also work, and if the 3.25" don't round out enough, going to 3.0" or 2.8" would do it and have enough squaring off of the profile to get that tank tread grip if that's your thing. I definitely am not a fan of the C-Rim in front, at least on this frame with that fork -- the rim quality is superb, but the width squares off the 3.25" tires so much they feel like they dive into sharp turns. I *think* that a narrower rim (or giant tire) in front would fix that, but I'm not sure.
Can this frame be converted into an ebike?
Thanks. ButYou could have mounted it on helmet or chest for better explanation.
How do you find the titanium against the steel?
Not going back to covenmntional flat bar, I have the loop bar with ridgid MTB conversion.. This Jones Ti is my dream bike now 🍺🍺🍺
My Dream Bike 👍🏼
How is the pedal bob uphill on the LWB Spaceframe?
I have that exact model and have never noticed any. The spring of the Ti + curves takes a little sting out of the pedals and more out of the saddle, but it never feels or acts like a dedicated suspension.
Hey would you have any interest in selling your Jones bike? I am looking for one of these in a size medium. Thanks.

nice video i hope someday i can have a nice bike like that. jones is way out of my legue
That is a very interesting looking bike.
What’s the weight of your steel lwb?
About 33-34 pounds
good looking trail, and the Ti ain't bad either, (-;
Such a beautiful bike, makes me want one even more than I already did!
I have an older steel Spaceframe (pre 29 plus rear) and also a Salsa Beargrease Fat bike. I agree with you that the Fat Bike with a 4.8 front tire smooths out the rough and rocky trails better than the Spaceframe with a 3.25 up front, but the Jones still remains lighter and more versatile everywhere else.
What a cool ass bike, nice video.
... Would it be OK or a really bad idea to stuff luggage into the upper part of the fork?
Jones sells custom bags specifically designed for the Jones Truss Fork.
Thank you. Intrigued by these bikes for sure. I recently threw a Ritchey Kyote bar (27 degree sweep) and 2.8s on my Surly Bridge Club and was amazed at it's versatility and off road performance. I was trying to emulate a Jones bike but I still need to ride one of the bikes soon.
Good review
nice clip 👌
Very useful! Say, on the sore wrist front, have you tried RevGrips? They are supposed to help further isolate your hands from high frequency vibration.
I have the same bike in Large with Jones Carbon Rims and BB7 brakes. Have had it for 2 years (4,000 miles). Love it is an understatement. Super comfortable and safe it handles everything I ride extremely well. I had 29x3.0 on the rear for more chain clear but 3.25 up front for float and comfort.
oh my gooood
oh my goddddddddddddddd
Watched this from the ER after crashing my Jones. Don't worry, the bike's OK!
Thanks for the ride!
looks like a smooth ride.
Great review: about the chain rub you are mentioning: what chainline do you use with the 1x12 boost 148 setup and your 3.25 Bulldozers? Is 52mm enough to clear the tire?
I don't have the numbers, but I have a this exact bike built up by Jones, and the chain cannot be safely shifted to the largest cog with GX drivetrain and 3.25" Bulldozers on the Jones C-rims. It's fine on all other gears, but I think it was silly to put on a rear tire that has that caveat. Using the largest cog will "work", but it's going to grind whatever grit and oil on your chain into the sidewall. IMO 3.0" is the max to put on the back if you use the Jones C-rims that let the tire get very wide. I think they are great rims for build quality, but I'd prefer a 40mm inner width rim for at least the back wheel.
FYI Jones dealers in Northern California ( San Francisco ) area ALL suck. Called over 30 dealers listed on Jones web site. Dealers did not know about any of Jones bikes or products. Jones should : A. Train or provide video for dealers on bikes & products B. Dealers should be required to carry a full range / sample of Jones bikes & products. C. Be removed from Jones web site if their NOT customer orientated.
Any Jones dealers in the Silicon Valley Bay Area ??
Silva Cycles in Los Gatos had a Jones Ti Spaceframe in their shop that they let me ride many years ago (2014 or 2015). They're an awesome small boutique shop and might be able to get one in your hands.
@@edl8538 that's the owner's bike. He still has it. I rode it recently. It's a SWB Ti Space frame with top end components. Nice bike! Light!!
@@ljgmdad IIRC, the new Plus models have 148mm in the rear and 150mm in the front, and the older model 135/135. I think that the 148 is better just because it lets you get symmetrical spoke angles in both front and rear for a very strong and reliable wheel. From what I read in Bicycle Quarterly about the older model, it was superb for the steep road and fire road riding of the Pacific Northwest -- put on 55-65mm slicks and shorter cranks to reduce pedal strike, and it flew on anything but mud and loose fluffy stuff. With the new Plus custom models, I think the eccentric BB lets you do that without using shorter cranks, but people with short-to-medium femurs seem to be going shorter these days, anyway.
Sweet video! Like the sound quality too. Very pure.
Well, my Jones should be delivered Friday. Can't wait! (got a complete LWB...should leeave room for upgrades while saving money in the short term) Great review!
Nice vid! 2 Questions: To what degree are you confident that the extra damping is from the Carbon H-Bars and not the Ti frameset? Have you spend any time on a unicrown Jones and how does the trust fork (both Ti and Fe) feel different? I have an SWB Complete that I adore, and I'm looking for some more control and compliance on technical & choppy downhill downhills. Considering getting a truss and carbon H-Bars but both are $$$ so I'm trying to get some feedback from those that have some seat time on both.
I can say 100% confident -- I have this same bike, and tried both the Al and carbon bars on it. On any path with any buzz or chatter or drops, I can immediately feel a difference, and after an hour, it's night-and-day for me. I don't have super-strong wrists, so you might not have problems, but I am totally sold on the carbon version over the aluminum. Also, they save 3/4 lb and don't get super cold on winter days. Now, the unicrown fork with aluminum bars might be as nice as the truss fork with carbon or Ti bars, but whatever chatter makes it up to the bars, the carbon or Ti will further reduce.
A Jones is definitely high on my list for next bike...though I'm not sure if I'll go LWB or SWB.
Nice review and I'd like to pick your brain. I picked up a 24" Jones LWB Ti frame a few years ago and built up for bikepacking and less aggressive singletrack (49mm ID carbon rims, ride the new chuparacbra the XR2 tires in 29x3, carbon jones bars, SRAM Eagle, Ultimo mechanical hydraulic brakes, etc.) and have a Ellsworth Ephiphany (29/27.5+) full suspension that I use for more technical singletrack, shorter trips, etc. But I've been riding the Jones more and more on singletrack and whatever else as it's more comfortable and a bit more upright (I'm 55 now and not getting any younger)--plus the geomotery is enough different that it always feels wrong on the one bike after riding the other for at least the first while. Thinking of changing them both out and just going for a 25" (L) LWB Spaceframe in Ti. I run a setback seatpost and 80mm stem on my current 24" Jones diamond, but my short legs/long arms likely don't handle the standover of the 25" LWB Diamond, but thinking the spaceframe may hit the sweetspot with it's much lower standover. Having been someone that's ridden them both--thoughts on whether good approach or ? About the only downsize I see besides cost, is the smaller frame bag space on the Spaceframe, but the 25" would offset that a bit vs the 24".
Hi great video, thanks. I have had a few Jones bike's, I have had a love and don't love affair with them over the years. Because of the lockdown here down under I rebuild my Jones LWB Spaceframe from the box's (was in part's to sell off) and your right of only I had been riding this bike on the day I had a unplanned dismount over the handlebars! I would not have ended up with a TBI, so is the titanium frameset better riding than your old steel Jones LWB? I'm guessing I should change my Titanium Jones Loop Handlebars to Carbon one's after all you have said and Jeff did say I should change to the Carbon one's! I just have always liked titanium handlebars on all my bikes.
The titanium build is 27.5 pounds, compared to the 33 pound build of the 2015 steel Plus. You obviously feel this on the climb, but you can feel it on the descent too. The Spaceframe is lighter and thus has less inertia, so you can whip around and it feels lighter and "sportier" if that makes sense. Due to the properties of titanium and the design of the Spaceframe, there is also some flex in the Spaceframe, whereas the steel diamond frame of the 2015 Plus is solid as a rock. This means the Spaceframe will give a smoother ride. This video shows what I am talking about: ruclips.net/video/rfGu3yGcnJQ/видео.html Yes, make the change to carbon bars!
@@Oregonproductionscompany hi thanks for the reply, I was hoping to Titanium truss forks would like be a little bit more comfortable? I had one of the 1st 24" Plus Jones (LWB) and I have found that the rear end is much more comfortable on my much newer LWB Spaceframe so like the video you have linked in a Titanium Spaceframe would be better again, but it's my hands and the fork stiffness that concerns me?
@@overland_adventure_nz The truss fork, whether made of steel or titanium, is supposed to be as rigid as possible. I don't think Jeff intended for any flex from the truss fork. He has talked about his Unicrown fork providing a little forward/backward flex in this video: ruclips.net/video/FTIF3TqpkH8/видео.html so if you want more comfort, you might want to look into a Unicrown fork. I have personally never owned a Jones bike with a Unicrown fork, so I can't really attest to its riding qualities.
@@Oregonproductionscompany Thanks for your replys, I'll see about a set off Jones carbon Loop handlebars first and go from there.
Great clear and balanced review. Thank you for sharing.
