From his 1999 album "Freestyle". Tune composed by Victor Cormier. His parents were Charles & Mary Cormier, whom had fourteen children. This waltz reminds me a bit of the more well-known "Portuguese Waltzes", which was popularized by another Newfoundland accordionist, Art Stoyles.

This Is One Heck Of An Accordion Player. The Best In Newfoundland (My Opinion). She Has A Unique Way Of Playing.
You should post the whole album 😎. Great stuff!
Do you have more by the flummies? They were friends of mine in the late 70’s
There were more of them in the source video. I don't think I had clipped them. Check the URL in the description, and if you click their band name there, you'll find they were supposedly also in the "Tape 24 - Day 3 continues", "Tape 4", and "Tape 25" videos.
@@canadian-celticfolkmusic8222 I found more right after I sent you the comment. Hey, thanks for taking time to respond
Nice to listen on cassette
One Of Newfoundlands Best Accordian Players Mr Wince Saunders.
I'm Emile's son Jim - thanks for posting
Hey Jim, enjoyed listening to your father's music. A few tunes of his are some of my favs. Did you or any other siblings pick up the fiddle as well?
@@canadian-celticfolkmusic8222 Yes my Daughter Victoria and my Nephew Justin
Awesome
Does not sound anything like Trip to the Cottage????
It's been a while since I posted the video, but I would have labelled it based on what they said or what was indicated elsewhere. As for it not being Trip To The Cottage, yes, its not the tune more commonly known by that name. With that said, it's not uncommon for tunes to be mislabelled or multiple tunes to have the same name
Great Song, Thanks Folks
Great Tune, Thanks Folks.
Thanks for uploading this! I discovered Cleve Best’s Homemade Jam version maybe a year or two ago, and the Newfoundland Railway itself probably around the same time. Amazing rail line and sad that it’s gone, suffered much the same fate as so many other railroads. I also came up with these lyrics to fit in between the second and third verses: “Now we’re on to Clarenville, through the forests we will go. You can feel the wheels rumbling, as the cars rock to and fro. On to Gambo and to Gander, then Bishop’s Falls is next. We’re nearly halfway home now on the Newfoundland Express.”
Thank you for sharing Chris. Nice addition to the song with that new verse.
Thank you so much for uploading this! I'd love to see the entire album!
You're welcome! Will consider posting a few more of the songs in the future, though I'm on the fence about posting many songs from any particular album
keep it up
Will do. But likely in waves, e.g., several posts in a relatively short period of time, then a break.
very good from an irishman
Second one is old hag you have killed me
First reel is Irish. It's known by two names: Walker Street and The Traveler.
Thank you Mac. Ed probably knew it by one of the Canadian or Quebec names for the tune, seems there are a few of those as well (see tune #143 on TheSession), e.g., "Reel De Voyageur" and "The Laborer’s". Will update the video title as such
Very cool! I love that genre of folk music.
Appreciate being exposed to this music. Thanks
Doesn’t Spirit Of The West also sing this song
Yes, it is a cover of Spirit Of The West. One of SOTW's band members wrote the song
Fantastic…voice of Angel 🌹
Randomly found this, not even looking for this kind of music. Badass tune.
Best Newfoundland Bodhran player ive ever heard
THANKS FOR PUTTING THIS STUDIO CUT BACK ON LINE , IT'S THE BEST ONE ! I MISSED IT A LOT
I love the folk-rock version of Cooley's Reel/Centennial Highway Reel that Figgy Duff recorded on their 'After the Tempest' album...
B'ys, if you're going to play Rufus tunes, learn the tune. Especially when Rufus is right there! Great set of tunes though.
So happy to see this.
Dancers: Flip Janes, Paddy Mackey, Bill Barry, Frank Barry, Aggie Walsh, (Mercedes Barry?),(?), (?). And of course Phil Dinn on the bodhran and introducing the dance. So great to see this, thank you for keeping our dear friends alive.
'Promo SM'
Thank You, I have been looking for this version!!!
