Ummm where's the glue...
There’s a reason why cement trucks show up with wet concrete vs. a dump truck load of dry mix and a water truck to any job that is meant to last
What’s the brand?
I like it when I want to stop a video because I need to go and end up watching the whole thing.
how much water was added to each?
I'm just screwed!!
no breathing protection when you were cutting the test slabs = unsubscribed.
Grow up. It's his health, it's up to him what he does
@@TheCod3r you're not the boss of me, my dad could beat up your dad.
Stupid s***
Dry pour does work well, but it's a lot easier to get it wrong than wet pour. Dry pour requires very specific watering procedure, if you don't get it right, you could be in trouble. Wet pour you can't screw it up unless you do poor job on mixing. That's why these videos are counter productive. If you can't do proper watering on Dry pour, you should stick to wet pour for sure. Your dry pour clearly wasn't cured, likely didn't get the watering done properly.
Ashto is crying
How bout not cutting it and just use it
Thanks for the vid and these are really helpful tips! Look forward to watching more of your vids... Gotta say though... your lawn... a bit of a monoculture. Throw in some clover, violet, and let some weeds come up. Ditch the weed and feed. Birds, bees, earthworms, and other fellow creatures will be happier, and your lawn will benefit without the need for synthetic fertilizers. Just my 2 cents.
Once again (I posted this on one of your previous videos), a dry pour is not for slabs. It's for post holes, because it grips the substrate better
RE 4:50 You get voids with wet pour because it's too viscous, not because it's not viscous enough
Nicely done
The bricks were really thick. It works the same either way when your not doing such a thick piece. 2 inches of concrete dry or wet works fine. I tried it.
Can't help thinking that on the dry pour, there could be some tiny air pockets in there.. If they fill with moisture over time, and freeze in Winter, moisture expands, concrete will crack.... I'll stick to wet pour I think... Great experiment though. Thanks for showing..
So you only need 8/2 with ground for your 24k unit?
Since they brought the wrong pool... was this a better pool?
Amazing build video! Great job going through all of it and it looks fabulous! Great job! Definitely earned a subscription here. Well done!!!
Manufacturers know how to best use their products. That is why the instructions always say wet pour only.
Can this work on a wall?
@komarproject What is the surface area of the steel plate you used and the surface area (or just diameter in inches) of the hydraulic press head.
I'd recommend a dust mask if you do this often. :) Save those lungs!
Love the dog:) Thanks for the video.
The sump pipe that connects into the wye pipe looks perforated?
Absolutely beautiful. Would love an update on how the chickens enjoy their new home.
Great video, I have a project coming up this summer and had considered a dry pour. I'm so glad I saw your video. Thank you!
I also will not be attempting dry pours after seeing this. Clearly, the strength rating of the mixture (marked on the bag) goes out the window with this dry pour trick....
Thank you sooooooooo much. VERY INFORMATIVE AND USEFUL !!!!!
Sir you are cutting concrete and NOT wearing the appropriate PPE. The MSDS says that there are some harmful chemicals in that concrete that can cause damage to your lungs. I will be reporting this to the FDA........ JK, I saw some moron write a comment similar to this about adding chemicals to a tree to kill ash bore beetles This was very informative information, guess I'm sticking to wet pouring. Thank you for making this video! Keep up the great work!
wow thank you for taking the time to fill the internet with real information! priceless
Pouring a DRY vs WET Concrete Slab..... another way to look at it is lazy vs doing it right
I used to work for an engineering company that did blueprints for polebarns. After significant testing they found if you just poured dry concrete into the hole and buried it with the post, the first time it would rain it would saturate the mix, the weight of the dirt and post would compact it. This method results in an extremely slow and strong curing process. Granted I live in an area that gets lots of rain, this wouldn't work in a dry climate. We never had a problem with the poles. Every call back we had was for trim or screw dissatisfaction. This was about 20 years ago and I still drive by many of those pole barns to this day. They are all still standing and appear to be plum. The key is the slow cure. Makes for a stonger bond.
Wow that's good to know, I did not expect it to be that fragile. I dry poured two columns for solar panels, I'm hoping they hold up. I was adding water as I was pouring concrete and tried my best to mix it in situ though... so I don't know if that's considered a true dry pour.
LOL, people are actually doing that? I've done "dry pour" before, but I mix in water and mix the concrete inside the form rather than premixing and pouring the concrete. You can't just finish it dry and "mist" over the top LOL. Wow.
17:12 I don't know if anyone else saw the slab that he poured crack immediately when he drilled the bolt in. After all that hard work, that would've have made me delay the finish of my project. It's the small things that I get hung up on. Nice Project though.
Dry pour, just add water. lol
I'm impressed with your work but nearly screamed at the screen when I saw you mount the rear dropouts facing up. That's a significant safety hazard. They normally face down so if the axel nuts get loose it slides deeper into the dropouts instead of just ejecting from the bike. I would definitely buy and mount a set or chain tensioners as a secondary hold for safety.
Awesome job brother. Thank you! PS- Not to be nit picking, but you did not use rebar of any kind in the samples. I know the results will not change; it just caught my attention. LOL
Pretty silly of him to state on the wet pour that the plywood was producing or holding moisture, then not bring it up at all on the dry pour. Whole test is voided after that point.
I use electric fence around bottom middle and top of cage and for best results ground the fencer to the cage itself. Any predator gets a taste of that juice all of a sudden loses their appetite for chicken and forget their way back. Best protection and less expensive
For anyone being overly critical in the comments or claiming to be a pro… why are you watching this in the first place? Good video man
Finally a way to keep my attention! 😂
28 day need concrete to get his full Potenzial. (I know Concrete get stronger over long time but is not manny.
That coop should last 300 years ..or more. Maybe need to reroof.. BUT! if you put ceramic tiles for roofing it may just last 300+ years without a reroofing :)
As someone who poured concrete for 10+ years, dry pour is a joke, the industrial standard is wet. Dry pour is one of those 5 minute craft "hacks" that someone came up with. Avoid at all costs.
so why thus our building, bridges and roads not dry poured? Anwer: because its unreliable and only for the lazy ones 😂
Who takes a chicken to the vet? Lmbo. Have that chicken for dinner. Wow
does it have high rated scratch resistant layer?
A harbor freight mixer is under $300. If you're too cheap/too small a job to hire a truck, at least splurge for the mixer then sell it online for 75% of the price you paid. Cheaper than a rental and much better outcome.
