Finally got to watch this video at last well done yet again and to say you never done arches before you world never think it you seem to pick up things really well and never give up but its going to be worth it loking forward to next video steve
Felt good to get this bit dialled in! Really happy with the outcome thanks for watching as ever buddy
🙈🤪🤣
Sorry mate it been a long day i was meant to put £15 not £50 🙈🙈🤣
Easily done lol
Yes mate parkings like about £50 then they add booking fee even though you book it n do everything your self 🤷♂️🙈🤣
That's a joke!!
I’m sure it’s You’re never straight in a v8? 😂
Some nice work there man! Just finished doing jacking points and sills on my touring and the feeling of seeing a rust-free car afterwards is worth all the effort! Cheers for the videos
Great work dude, I hope my vids have been useful! Have you documented the build anywhere that I can see it?
@@HardlyExotic I have not posted it anywhere, but i got plenty of pictures🙂
@@Xxrocktheo send em over on Instagram if you use it!
@@HardlyExotic Ofcourse, whats your name?
@@Xxrocktheo hardly exotic as per here 🙂
I know this isn’t the rocker or jacking point video but thought I might as well watch this and just say thank you for these awesome detailed vids currently fighting the spot welds on my rusted rockers but I’m almost done and these vids give me hope
No problem dude I'm really glad they've been of use! The vids are very time consuming to make and film so I appreciate the kind words. Are you documenting your build on IG?
@@HardlyExotic No not yet but I’ve been taking some pictures of the progress so maybe I will. The car sat in my driveway for about 5 years no start and I just got it started this year. I’m 16 and didn’t really have the money or knowledge to mess with it previously so I’m just getting rolling on it now but my plan is to hopefully have it in stable condition by spring time🙏
@@hispanickid963 epic work buddy! That's a big under taking at your age but also it's the perfect car to learn on the job as lots of DIY info online for E36s 💪
Good work man!
Thanks buddy
im off to nec classic car show soon wasnt cheap but its once a year and indoors out the weather
saw an XJR-15 there once
I had to google what an xjr-15 was just now!
Yeh nec is a nice venue just a mission for me down here plus I've heard the parking expensive too. Its just a pain
Great start steve
There are still good car shows in the UK. Some think they can charge £40 per person to get in. 😮
Yet another time where the petrol head seems to suffer. 40 quid for a show is steep!
Great job bro 💯
Thanks 👌
Hi can u help, Im owner of 1997 e36 but its swapped with m52b25 from 1998 e39 523i, when i first got it the car started normally but it wouldnt past 3500rpm, after I chnaged oil and ignition sparks it went wild he was starting really fast and it had full power, I also disconnected and reconected the maf sensor. Now when im done with bodywork i had an inncident where i forgot to close the front haube and it was raining and engine was on rain but after rain it started normally and had full power, my friend and I went to test the car bcs we replaced the suspension and when i wanted to crank the car it cranked like it wanted to die but it had power and when we drove it was wild like an animal but all of a suden when engine got to work temperature it didnt wanted to pass 3500 rpm and from then i can barely crank up the car and it also doesnt want to pass 3500 rmp The things missing is the full exhaust, so the manifolds are first and last what i got for exhaust, i dont have air filted but kn sport filter
Could be a failed/ failing crank sensor. You need to scan the ecu for fault codes. If the crank sensor has failed, omly replace with oem bmw part
1:33 no I want drift car…..
Everyone wants a drift car
Great insight into what’s involved , I’ve got the same job on my 328 but other side
Good luck!
@@HardlyExotic 😂 thanks , it has got quite a bit of filler in there hopefully I can get away with only putting a section of it in
@@chrisnoye5252 sounds like a job for a knot wheel!

Great to see more e36 contents as scary as it looks but really enjoying it you seem to pick up skills really well and patience for it but keep up the great work steve i admire you for keeping at it be worth it in the end 🙂
Thanks mate appreciate it👌
Great to see a update mate think im scared of looking at your next video dont think anything scares you from posts ive seen 🤣🤣
I think I just enjoy a painful life 🤣
You're a sucker for punishment.... As am I bloomin rust! 😂
Dude I hate it. This car is something else 🤣🤣
@@HardlyExotic im at the end of my 97 328i convertible and i found more today .. Something else is definitely the nice way of putting it! ... But i love the thing like an addiction .. Rust addiction should get a freakin medal for patience 🏆
@@carsonstage4274 good man for sticking at it. It's a bugger too cos I really enjoy the fab work but the mess, dirt, crap you've gotta breath in, even if you're careful is a pain. It's definitely a labour of love!
@@HardlyExotic your videos have really helped keep my motivation so big thanks Mines been on the go for 3 years its my first bmw - i was lucky and picked it up from a 1 owner from new , was registered a few miles from where i live so its a local car completely original its even got cruise control which i found out is a very rare option. Driven it 30 miles before stripping the whole underneath - ive got priming seam sealing etc then its going back together im hoping March 2025 then big road trip. Really enjoyed your nurburgring video that'd be a dream trip .. We'll see! Your 328 will be sick and a rare Msport you gota keep em on the road as you say a labour of love but definitely worth it! We'll be the only ones standing mobile when electric cars bankrupt every car manufacturer!
Had same 328i conv in moira blue as yours. Top top motor.
The 2.8 is a peach of an engine 🙏
@@HardlyExotic My one beemer ppl waved at and let out lol. Don't miss the drips when driving in rain though 😨..
@@MrMaxidc haha yes those verts love to leak. I have a z3 2.8 currently which doesn't leak. That's the only reason it hasn't been stripped for parts 🤣
Nobody thinks owning a 90s car is like that😂😂😂😂
☠️☠️☠️
My dads got a Subaru Impreza 1999 and it’s got nearly no rust he’s had it about 10 years
90s scoobys are epic 🥰
Nice to see it being brought back to life! Not many cars nicer to look at than e39s... even nicer with it being an alpina!
Couldn't agree more!
I have an 88 and no actual mechanical knowledge but i like working on her with my youtube degree because that shit is simple i can usually troubleshoot the thing, but my gf’s 2013 prius is a whole new world to me
RUclips is all you need my friend 👌 F... The prius 😂
Wait till you buy one from the 80s that'ill be very fun😊
80s cars are very cool but rust and finding parts is a challenge!
Have you still got the MK1? When you said “full steam ahead” I heard “full Steve ahead”.
Yes, but nature is trying to reclaim it!
Thanks steve 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
Sounds like you had fun mate 👍 crazy how these cars can rip them selfs apart 🙈🤣
Was a hoot mate!
The man George barcklay
at that point you might as well just throw a s50, s52 or even a s54 in it
In the UK. S50 and s54 are 5k+ before any maintenance. Doesn't make sense for most people getting into these cars with a low budget. I don't know what s52 cost in the USA though?
Tell them to do one im just getting into this build you going to be doing now 😂😂
Haha OK okay I might do a second vid just for you Mike 😂
Tell them to do one im just getting into this build you going to be doing now 😂😂
I peddled one of these (Aygo) daily for a year whilst the missus has my e91 when she was on maternity leave. We bought it off my sister-in-law and I used to rag it everywhere. Never went wrong, but totally gutless on an uphill duel carridgeway 😅
Ya they're actually really solid wee cars. My mum ran one for a few years and the tax is low £20 for the year. Mega mpg, parts are cheap and the engine and gearboxes are solid as he'll the only issue is they do rust and the interior build quality is very budget lol
£50?! You can't possibly go wrong 😊
She wanted me to have it for free 🤣 I insisted on £50!
Yes mate i cant see you making any loss on this one really i mean i love your e36 contents but these are good fun aswell 👍
The views says the followers don't want more aygo content 🤣 but appreciate you following along my man 👍
Great video yet again steve not something you see people cover much but has these cars get older these happen and ask me how my e46 m3 ended up having a underside nut and bolt resto 😂😂😂 ps are we going to be seeing this on track soon
Thanks mate. The 46 m3 suffers badly but I've seen a few of these z3 do this to the floor. I reckon a tired diff bush was the main culprit. I did use the car at Thruxton today. Didn't film any footage as the track videos tend to do badly on RUclips but I had a blast
Hi, great video, may I ask? “why an e34 engine mount and not a e36 rubber or poly mount?”
E34 mounts are cheap and solid rubber. The E36 ones are oil filled and eventually fail, plus they're twice the price. Both are fine but the e34 makes a little more sense due to the price point. I wouldn't use poly engine mounts on a. Road car. Our UK roads are too crappy and the extra engine vibrations will eventually annoy you if its a daily driver.
Thanks for the reply, I’ll be ordering a few bits through your website shortly.
Well i wasnt expecting a video like this but like i said you full of surprises😅 but looking forward to watching some more stuff on this see how you get on with it i cant see you making any loss for how cheap you got it for i sometimes forget now days you cant really get cars much now for £500 or less anymore so you done well on this
I figured I'd chuck it up and see how it does. Terribly apparently. My subs want E36 Coupe rust repair related content mostly is what I've learnt!! It'll be a cheap fun little flip. As you say tricky to get stuff for sub 500 these days in bad shape so hoping with this all up together and fresh mot should fetch 1500
But this is part of why i enjoy watching your videos though 😂😂
It was totally unplanned but a funny inconvenience non the less 😂
You can’t really go wrong with that, you’re bound to make a profit.
Time will tell!
Great video something different kind of abit of blogging maybe do a few more of these type maybe not as much getting bull semen everywere though 🤣
I've no idea what I'm doing mate 😂 come up with an idea, film it. Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe 5hit 😂😂😂😂
I’ve always put that stuff in boiling water. It comes out the gun a lot easier and spreads further in the cavity as it is so much runnier.
Yeh that's a good shout. I haven't used this particular stuff before, but I wasn't overly impressed. I'd previously used some buzzweld cavity wax before, which was much thinner and offered what seemed like better coverage.
@@HardlyExotic yes that’s why you have to put it in a bucket of boiling water and put it in when you have a break then you can put a straw on and it will not blow it off .
As my drivers side jacking point is gone 😂
Can you use the sedan seal plate for a convertible coupe? Obviously it’ll have to be cut to size but is it doable?
Yes you can, you'll just need to shorten the front bit slightly as coupe sill is shorter at the front end
🙈🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great video as always but lack of sleep at night worrying what might be hiding around my chassis another thing 😅
Sorry 😂 Ill pray for your car 😂
Very good video that mate. i fear the white wagon may need a bit of treatment in the near future. I guess I know what I’ll be doing over the winter……😅
You and a grinder will become best of friends in the very near future, if you aren't already 😂
Keep grinding mate, it's never easy, work, life, family & cars 👍🏽
It's a tricky one to balance!
😂😂😂
You can do it mate look how much that e36 coupe as challenged you 😬🤪
Yeh you're right there 😂
