The long anticipated return of the Big Boy to Texas has come! The 1941 Built monster of a Steam Locomotive entered The Great State of Texas via the former Cotton Belt mainline from St. Louis into Texarkana, Arkansas. September 17th 2024 is when 4014 first crossed over the state line, starting it's trek to Dallas, Texas, where despite the many delays and setbacks, had a successful trip to DIT. Two days later on September 19th, 2024 it departed Dallas south on the Ennis sub for Hearne, Texas; This being a much better day as it arrived it's last stop and home for the next couple weeks in the newly built UP Brazos yard southwest of town.
