Two drinks, hot & cold with Flair58 + Femobook A5
Couldn't figure out if I wanted a hot or cold drink this morning. So I figured hell why not have both... Didn't heat the milk for long enough and incoporated too much air... Butched the latte art but hell it was tasty still.
Using a natural Gesha from Axil Coffee Roasters based in Meblbourne Australia.
Cups are from MHW-3BOMBER.
Grinder is the Femobook A5 set at 55 clicks (lighter roast for espresso)
Portafilter is the layflat adjustable portafilter from SWORKSDESIGN. Basket used here is the Weber Unibasket, I talked about that in a previous video.
Have a great day :)

Picopresso w/Hugh. IMS Basket Afternoon Drink Workflow

Just got my new Pico set up for travel and this is the fifth (?) shot that I pulled with the PICO. It is rather forgiving. I did grind too fine so decided mid way to go for a tighter ratio for a ristretto type shot. Turned out ok in a milk drink either way. This isn't my home set up, but just wanted to get the hang of it while i have the chance. Gear Used: WACACO Picopresso using a Hugh. x IMS ...

    Which grind setting did you use for the flair?

    is it safe for the pump if the coffee is too fine and dense? I want to buy this tool, but I'm afraid that the pump will easily be damaged

      Because you're pushing the pump, just kinda stop when you feel too much resistance. you do want to take care not to grind too fine, but it also has a pressure relieve valve. I dont want to say its unbreakable but long as you dont push it too much, it will be fine.

      @@CoffeeWithPeach because when we first use this tool, we have to calibrate the tool with the coffee grinder, meaning we have to start from the coarse grind size and continue to the fine grind to get perfect results, is that right?

      @@rhamaprasetya If you're too fine and feel alot of resistance when pushing the pump, you can leave it for a few minutes before pushing again. the water will deteriorate the puck and make it easy to get rest of water out. then just try coarser again. but yes, as with any coffee machine, you need to dial in, whether you start too coarse or too fine is a matter of the beans you use.

    Tidy! Have you had the issue where the wooden handle on the J comes off while grinding? Happens all the time on my J-Max and it's infuriating!

    • @CoffeeWithPeach
      @CoffeeWithPeach 2 месяца назад

      certainly has... it is frustrating however, if you grind at an angle or even close to horizontal, it takes far less effort so the knob doesnt come loose as easy. also horizontal means less fines = more clarity which is great! does take longer to grind this way though...

      @@CoffeeWithPeach yeah, I’ve heard that slow feeding can help. Being completely honest though, I’m not sure I can be bothered! Very tempted just to upgrade to a Niche…

      @@squidstar111 I'd check out the DF Grinders at that price range too... Grinders have evolved to a point where there are so many options at the niche's price. Me personally, ill stick with the Jultra. I enjoy manual grinding and the ease of cleaning everything haha... not as straight forward or simple for electric grinders IMO...
