#scubadivingskills #divingskills #DSMB Learn how to deploy a surface marker buoy (SMB). THIS IS AN ESSENTIAL SKILL THAT EVERY DIVER SHOULD LEARN. Especially in areas where there is heavy boat traffic. You want the boats to know when you are surfacing. There are a few ways to inflate an SMB underwater. The technique I will show you here is using your exhale. #nowastage 📍 London School of Diving
Maximum Operating Depth - OUR MOD | SCUBA THEORY
Просмотров 2,8 тыс.4 года назад
When we use this term in scuba diving, what are we referring to! As scuba divers, we are limited when we enter the underwater world. We are limited due to the way our body uses and absorbs the gas we breath. For this reason, we have what is called the 'Maximum Operating Depth' of a breathing mixture. Let's talk about GAS limits! SCUBA THEORY This is a new series of videos where I discuss some s...

What is Partial Pressure? | SCUBA THEORY
Просмотров 7 тыс.4 года назад
What is Partial Pressure? As scuba divers, we enter an environment that has a direct effect on the air we breath. As the pressure around us increases, as does the pressure of our gas. To understand what is happening, we must understand a term known as PARTIAL PRESSURE. A term coined by John Dalton in the early 1800. Let's talk about GAS! SCUBA THEORY This is a new series of videos where I discu...
Ambient Pressure & Our Breathing Gas | SCUBA THEORY

As scuba divers, our whole environment changes completely. We are entering a high pressure environment which effects the pressure surrounding us. This surrounding pressure is known as ambient pressure. The main effect of this high pressure environment is that it affects our ability to breath. Let's talk about PRESSURE! A classic dive site for those of you travelling to Malta! Located on the Island of Gozo, it is a must see bucket list tick off. The Blue hole descends into 15 metres of water at which point you exit out to sea following the wall on the right to find the Azure Window reef, created at its time ...

What a wreck! We headed to Malta to check out the popular recreational wreck UM EL FAROUD. One of the best dive sites when scuba diving in Malta. Um EL Faroud was a Libyan oil tanker reaching 110m in length! It suffered damage from an explosion that killed many dock yard workers in 1995. After sitting in the dock of Valetta for 3 years, it was finally scuttled off the coast of Wied iz-Zurrieq m...

HOW TO "BACK KICK" | SCUBA DIVING SKILLS
It appears that you are expressing a sense of disappointment when referring to the lakes in the United Kingdom.😅😅
That's not how you should do it...
Increíble!! lo que no vemos😊👍
Thanks good video
This is the video that finally explained this in plain English. Thank you!!!!!
What about if i use wing bcd and i rotate all over , what is your advice
Descending in a vertical position, it will also compression and decompression is imbalance.
Veeery helpful, Amy❣️ Thaaank you.😊
We love you videos Amy! Where are you?
this is laughable
Thank you, I just did a refresher course after not touching my Open Water in 10 years and the instructor was shockingly abrupt, rude when I was struggling to descend. You’ve been a massive help thank you ❤
But why does PPO2 go over 1.0? How is it possible to breathe more than 100% oxygen?
Great Trips🤿🤘🤿
very nice! Thanks
Well done Amy ❤❤👏
Nice video
Thanks for the help😁🤩
Tq its so useful ❤
Thankyou Amy! You have helped me so much! We should we look down before the mask clearing?
Best explanation I've seen so far
Very good tips! It wasn't as clearly explained in my open water course. Calming the brain to not override is so much mental practice too!
Thank you for making the video. I am a rusty old diver and needed the reminders.🙂
Explained very nicely. Finally, I get it
i am training for my divemaster course the skil isnt a problem for me, but the thing is when demostrating the skill i canot clear the mask once i must clear is multiple times to complete the skil any sulution
Take a deeper breath and blow through the nose with more power at the beginning when you start to look up. Experiment with the amount of force blown out through your nose... be mindful however not to be too forceful! You can experiment with the force at which you blow out through your nose whilst always keeping the demonstration slow. Remember clearing your mask multiple times does not mean you are demonstrating the skill incorrectly. Clearing it the first time just makes the demonstration clearer.
Also good luck with your dive master course! 💃💃💃
Amy,,, you are incredible 🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍 adore your videos
Amazing
I really like hearing your English accent pronunciation on little bit
Wow... I really appreciate your mask cleaning tips
Great advice. Thank you.
I love your "practice, practice, practice, practice" diddy, and have adopted it into my training. Cheers Amy! ❤
Great explanation! I’m gonna subscribe to your channel as I love it when someone explains things nicely!!!
thanks for this intuitive video, and I need your advice on this..I always lean forward when descending using an integrated BCD "size ok , well weigh and well distribution " . however, when using a belt , I descend more vertically..does this mean that i need to forget about integrated BCD ? thanks
Great Video
I am taking my advance nitrox your videos are great reviews
you should never put your finger in the spool like that that's what i have been thought.
Awesome
Very good way of doing DSMB. I will give you 100👍 if possible! Good job Amy!
I tried this in a swimming pool and water would just flood my nose and sinuses no matter what I did. That’s why I could never become a diver.
Great explanation
That smb is for surface only because it has no relief valve.
The bottom is open, extra air can escape….
Can the cylinder actually be switched underwater?
I've watched about 10 videos and so far, yours is the best. Thanks.
Looks like a great dive spot, I’ll add it to list dive site list 😊
are you a certified scuba diver
I found with the backplate and wing bcd I cant completely empty the BCD to descend because I end up rolling backwards. When I leave just a little in it and empty my lungs its easier to have a little forward tilt.
thanks amy👌
Hi. I just discovered your channel. It is nice to listen to you. Is there a video where you talk about compensated regulator?
i was guilty of not breathing out enough, and when this clicked and i was breathing our fully i sank so much betger^^
I don't think I'm flexible enough. You look to have excellent flexibility in your hips, but my lower back is hurting just watching this! Lol
Amy, thanks SOOOOOOO much for this!! After my initial open water course I was still unable to clear my my mask confidently without breathing water up my nose. Which then meant I was anxious during my first dive (following certification) and was starting to think maybe diving wasn’t for me. I watched your video, practiced as per your guidance in our hostel pool and pretty much immediately got the hang of it and now feel confident - No longer concerned that I may die if my mask comes off during a dive 😂 I was actually able to be present and enjoy myself during my last dive. Just doing things slower and knowing there is no rush was a game changing piece of advice, perhaps for life too! Anyway thanks so much again 🙏🏻 Emma
Hi Emma! Thank you so much for your comment. It warms my heart when I read comments like these. Mask clearing is always one of the hardest to overcome so well done for pushing yourself and having courage to keep going. When you begin to feel truly present underwater is when you feel the magic of scuba diving! I am so happy for you 😊#beasloth
