In an apartment building, it turned out that a reinforced concrete balcony was sagging excessively and had structural deficiencies. As the balcony is directly connected to the internal concrete ceiling, negative bending reinforcement was possible to ensure the load-bearing capacity.
To further correct the sagging of the balcony, pre-tensioned re-bars were used. The team from Iten Spezialhochbau first relieved the balcony by lifting it with a hydraulic press. The re-bars were inserted in grooves, anchored, prestressed, and grouted to hold the balcony in the desired position, even after the support had been removed.
