Replacing a transmission wiring harness in a 2005 Toyota Tundra 2WD (A750E), It does not go as planned. It all started when the truck started "shifting into neutral" when accelerating from a stop (1st gear). Then the CEL came on and the code was for the 1st gear shift solenoid (short or break in circuit). Upon inspection of the harness connector, 2 pins were corroded causing a break in the harn...

Replacing transmission oil
Good job. I replaced the strainer on my 2014 Tundra and broke 7 bolts. I tried to weld a nut on the broken bolt but it didn't work so I drilled and tried using bolt extractor but broke a small piece of the corner of the transmission block. I was able to drilled 7 holes and tapped them. The corner one I just drilled through and use a nut and washer to hold the transmission pan. No leak so far.
Bro where is parts 1-3?

How well does the shift kit work in the Tundra?
Hahahahaha take that wrench off the crank 😂😂 don’t ask me why I laugh
Can you do this with the car on the floor or it'll roll once the transmission is out?
Can this auto be modified to be manual shift Only Can't get any info on then net about it
Great content, very informative and definitely helpful. Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks for posting this. Im about to Check my connection for oxidation. I got code p2716 all of a sudden for the pressure solenoid and started shifting poorly. Before cracking it open im going to clean the connector Edit: Well turns out the connector was corroded. One pin was so bad that it came off in the female end when I disconnected it. Guess which pin it was? The one that goes to the line pressure solenoid which causes P2716 when faulty. Thanks to your videos I feel confident about taking this on myself. Sorry yours didn't go as planned
This was a huge help. We got a false positive seating on the torque converter. Threw all sorts of codes. In the process of uninstalling now. Hopeful the pump is still in good functional condition as we only cranked it up 3 times and noticed it wasn't pushing fluid.
Thanks for creating this! Great overview and EXACTLY what I needed.
I'm in the midst of gutting my Chiron to an SKR 1.4 Turbo. I can tell I need to cut a hole for the USB port. I also printed that TFT 35 holder! I like it. I junked the power supply and hot end. I replaced the carriage with a CR10 one, so I can easy mount up the Bondtech DDX with Slice Engineering Mosquito. I'm going to use sensorless homing on X since I didn't want to fiddle with attaching one to the X rail. I'm hoping to turn a very unreliable machine into something very solid.
What rear sets and foot pegs are those?
Its recommended not to drop the pan on this gen Tundra, the “filter” is actually a strainer and up in the rust belt the odds of bolts breaking is very high.
Thanks for this video!
Very good job alot of effort. I did my toyota avalon 1997 .it seem more screw and ..
Thanks for this. I have an 02 and from the looks of it, the process seems to be the exact same. Im sure the A750E is very similar the A340E. I know the A340E has a dipstick tube whereas the 05-06 Tundra does not. Any specific reason why you do the top two bellhousing bolts last? I'd think that's a lot of weight being forced on them if not totally supported by the jack. And I think that was part of your issue in removal. The transmission needs to be totally supported so that it doesn't bind up when pulling it back from the engine. Look up the formula of Weight x Arm = Moment. It means the rear and of that transmission is in fact significantly heavier if its not being supported properly during the final removal. And instead of screwdrivers its best to use some wood block wedges made of oak or maple.
What a pain! I don't look forward to having to remove my trans pan because I know mine will do same, have an '03 4Runner and pan probably never off so all bolts are probably seized.
Awesome btw . Dorman does make a new connector for the female end for 20 bucks. But I've been watching your series a lot I respect the effort. Nice !!!!!
How long would you say it would have taken you if you didn't have to drop the transmission ?
To do just the harness it would have been a few hours, maybe the better part of a day
I would love to have your energy but I think I may cut the floor board and see if I can make it work but I lost 5 pins it looks terrible
I saw one RUclipsr dunk the connector in baking soda and they claimed it cleaned the pins well enough to take out the male pins .. kinda like how you clean battery terminals
so what ended up happening? why did you drop the trans, the bolt broke?
Yea, the bolt on the harness connector broke and there isn't enough space to drill it out. It came back together nice and I've been putting some miles on it
@@alsoron5323 I saw someone cut the floor board . But it takes some will power to do such a thing 😂 that would allow you to drill it.
Wish me luck...I have to replace this same wire harness.
do you have any resources or things to look at? in the same boat i think.
Mt first transmission was a 2005 dodge caravan. So many part removed and cv axles just to take the tranny out. This one seems easier. Thanks for the video.
Wow, I saw part one, And I Was like this aint so bad, Eh Yai EEEEEEE NO! got progressively worse.
Interesting series and well done. It is quite intimidating to see after I have the same corrosion shown on my harness and P0986 shift solenoid E control circuit high on my 2006 Tundra. After going through all of this would you recommend anything different? I expect my bolts would break off as well.
Did you ever find the negative z value settings for the z probe? Im trying to upgrade motherboard as well.
Hi Ron, thanks for sharing this! Did you get the filament sensor to work from the hub?
