Shane........maybe. But Ed will never forgive Ross, let alone bring him back. Almost 20 years after the fact, Ed still rants about him on stage. If he hasn't moved past it by now, it's not happening. And it's very hard to fault Ed for that.

But after watching some of his public temperature tantrums, he and his brother (does he really play guitar or is his main function in the band to pose to the audience?) are not worth the cost of two tickets. They have been running on fumes since 2006.

I still remember finding out about it on the official CS website back in 2001. I’d honestly be surprised if we ever see another lineup change. I kind of hope not. I’m tired of the revolving door of guys coming in and out of the band. We can still appreciate old videos like this with the original lineup, but forget about a reunion with Ross and Shane. It’s not happening.

Fuck you dude if he couldn't play it then the performance wouldn't sound so spot on! Rhythm guitar does not mean pussy, it's a vital part and Dean likes to play rhythm! Get over yourself if you think Ross is the only one important to the band. After all Dean has his own band Magnets and Ghosts now and plays guitar phenomenally on his 3 records. Don't diss the guy, jesus.

Retro Reginald the rhythm guitar parts are very important to the song. Dean is not doing anything flashy or overly difficult, but his contribution is still important to the song.

The chorus and verses wouldn't feel as full without a rhythm guitar. Just cuz he's not playing lead lines doesn't mean he isn't essential in a live performance.

MrDeppness at least you can hear Dean in this one. If you watch their performance of Why pt2 on Leno from around the same time, you can't hear him at all.

Dude GIVE UP. Ross is not coming back. Fuck that fucking idiot. Jesse is just as talented but in a different way. RESPECT him. I doubt you could play guitar for Collective Soul like Jesse does. So shut the fuck up. Ross put on some KILLER solos, but it's time to move on. You're not a fan of Collective Soul if you can't support the band though something as major as a band member change. How do you think Ed feels to have his wife cheat on him with his own best friend? Seriously dude have some compassion and understand Ross does NOT DESERVE to come back. EVER. Go watch Ross's solo stuff and follow him if you love him so much, but get far, far away from Collective Soul with that attitude of yours.
