Steve vai battle Tony Macalpine Live with CAB Carvin sixty Anniversary Concert Bunny Brunel Virgil Donati Brian Auger
VAMO TONY TIENE UNA REMERA DE ARGENTINA PAPAAAA
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💯💯💯Tony Macalpine é incrivelmente Sinistro.
Got to love it! Two world class guitarists takin it to the max, Steve has more media attention so I think we are more conditioned to hearing his sound, However T Macs sound is awesomely unique as well.
i like tony his tone is rounder more meaty
seems like they're havving alot of fun eh!
I've seen Vai in Italy introducing Macalpine this way: "let me introcuce you one of the best musicians I've ever had the pleasure to play with: Tony Macalpine". in my mind I thought:"WTF!!" acually he could played guitar and keyboards THE SAME TIME. two monster of the same size like Gdzilla and Gamera having fun toghether. nice one :)
Who’s the drummer?
Think it's Virgil Donati
How does Tony get through airport security with that right hand thumbnail?
Two of the best!!!
Two different styles . Vai has his signature sound he owns and McAlpine certainly has his with his tapped appegios etc . Disrespectful to their talents to pick who maybe better . End of the day it’s music and both have earned the right to be respected and not judged against each other or anyone else .
Whoever is capable of ever winning the evergoing battle of cacophony?
vai was more musical. but this track is suited best for someone like satriani i think. needs a stronger pentatonic sound. that bassline is begging for some classic pentatonic licks and then what we get with these guys is atonal sweep picking lol.
Felt like crossroads and Tony won my heart.....Sorry I love them both!
No 0
Two epic guitars on one stage, can you now imagine if Satch was thrown into the mix?
yawn.....
@@pusanghalawSatch is "no" where near Tony's level... and he taught Vai... Neither can compare to MacAlpine's virtuoso.
MacAlpine on this one 👍
Where
Billy Cobham? Hell yeah!
DAY-UM!!!
All we would need is Shawn Lane to arrive..game over in 30 seconds
Speed shredding is not the pinnacle of the world.
@@ingwarmagn3393 yes it is. And Shawn was fast but very tasteful if You d actually listen to what he was playing.
I dig both guys, but Steve Vai DEFINITLY killed MacAlpine on this one! \m/
Ahah steve vai Is a good player , Tony mcalpine Is a very good player , Scott Henderson Frank gambale Greg Howe , Brett garsed are great players , Allan holdsworth and Shawn lane are the greatest
Hi steve
Hi Tony
You left out McLaughlin in the greatest. Honourable mention to Beck
I love watching two incredibly talented musicians having a blast ripping off faces with one another!
Love Vai to death! But he got outplayed by Tony. Thing with Vai is that he's worked out a library of uniquely Vai-esgue signature licks and phrases. Nobody else uses those like him. People adopt them but Vai owns them...if u know what I mean ..that being said. He tends to use that vast library and cannot get out of it. Not a bad thing, but can sometimes be limiting. Guy's like Tony don't have such a "unique" library, so can just play anything, which makes them more versatile (not the word I'm really looking for). Still, love love love Vai!!! (And TM)
Agree 100%
you are right !
True. He knows to stay in his own lane, then he can define and own that lane.
I can not see how you can make that statement he got out played .
well said
Tony is killin it ... absolute beast !!!
00:48 when you are waiting for Jan Hammer and Tommy...
is that Patrice Rushen on Keys???,, wow
It's only apparent that a guitar virtuoso who plays Jazz, Jazz fusion, Classical Speed Metal, Blues, Heavy Metal Played the Van Halen riff live on stage lick for lick is a genius and that's Greg Howe check out string insanity by great howe he incorporates all those influences...
Apreciez și sunt de aceeași părere...Greg Howe cel mai complet
Hi greg
I like Tony much more than Steve but I think Steve’s solo was better constructed. It built up from nothing to something. As cheesy as he is, he understands what he sounds like. Tony messes around a lot.
Tony is bit off key
and you're a bit off heterosexual
T mac takes the hotter solo and is surely more farmiliar with billy cobham. My favorite guitarist john tropea is on the original and tommy bolin plays on it, too.
Tony 1 - 0 V-eye
Macalpine...!!!
Ok these are my two favorite guitarist and they did Spectrum all they way baby!!!
tony is using an argentinian tshirt? :D
Macalpine solo suit the song better
My God. Two titans conspiring to produce an absolutely astounding guitar duel. My hats off to Sir MacAlpine and Sir Vai. I stand in awe.
Vai is such a poseur.. think he must've worn out his bedroom mirror.
Those Carvins sound sofaking awesome!
macalpine is the best by far
Hi tony
Тошик приделал Вая по полной. Макалпайн был полностью в теме, а Вай со своими избитыми фишками.
Верно бро, всё так. На 6:32 видос обрывается, потому что у всех падает челюсть, и Ваю нечего больше играть в этой жизни.
Give the edge to McAlpine for speed, but for technical range and creativity nod goes to Vai (check out longer 2 part version watch?v=UIenY-zNR5k)
lyrically? well said i been a fan of tony for so long 25 yrs idk exactly but well put when u said lyrically its true
i agree pop culture is too simple to comprehend some people
this music is called 'Stratus'
was on live at the Astoria in 2003; wasn't an interview but as Steve introduces the band he says he will maybe get a lessen from Tony and he meant it !!!!
cant remember but it is on youtube somewhere. will try to find it and give you a link.
Hi, what interview were you watching? I would like to watch it. Love both of these guys but T-Mac has always been the preferred player for me. Seeing Steve Vai say that about him would be awesome.
boring...2 great guitarist (among the best in their styles when they play they own things) but definitively not at their ease on a chord vamp trying to make it sound fusion like...in this style there are many players that would have do something more interesting than this technical demonstration (dana rash, andy timmons (way more melodic) maybe greg howe , scott henderson and so many...sorry but I do love those 2 gtr players and as a fan I do love what they do on they own but not that.
Was watching an interview with Steve Vai when Tony's name came up and Steve said Tony scares him, can you imagine one of the best and well known guitarists ever scared by a lesser known and i mean no disrespect because i agree with you Tony is up there with the best and in many ways beyond them.
What interview?
tony mcalpine.@@MrPyroguy1
that's true about him and a lot of others in the business too.
la wuea idiota.
