Driving Encounters of Southern Ontario Compilation 105
I am not claiming to be a perfect driver. Just show casing for entertainment and educational purposes.
Honking and cursing can and will occur. Speeds are approximate and are in km/h. Wide angle lenses cause distortion so images are not to scale. If you are offended by anything in this video, please find another video.
As always, like, comment, and subscribe, and of course drive safe!

With the days getting cooler, it's always nice to have a reminder of what's coming. Something us Canadians all love... SNOW!!!! Okay, maybe love is the wrong word, but as we continue our journey through the start of 2023 (in the Southern Ontario Driving Encounters universe). It is the season of snow, which means the season of playing dodgeball with flying ice. As we get into the winter season, ...

Compilation 100 is finally here and it's got a new look to it. New intro, new music, new everything! Figured I'd wait a little bit to upload this as school has been extremely busy lately and I likely won't get to finishing Compilation 101 for a little while. Next compilation likely won't be until the end of April. In the meantime, enjoy!

It's the last compilation in the double digits, and for this, I spend an entire night in Toronto. This was not intentional fyi, I just happened to be driving around there that night and brought it a lot of good clips. There will be some changes coming to the videos as we enter the triple digits, but for this one, the formatting is the same. Stay tuned for the next compilation though and other u...

In my 7 years of dash camming, this is the first live crash I've caught. Thankfully everyone was okay, but both cars were write-offs. I left my information and waited for police to arrive, but police refused to show up because "nobody was reportedly injured and they don't deal with that anymore".

Yup, you saw it right! I went a little outside my Driving Encounter Jurisdiction (jk, there's no such thing as that, lol) Last 3 weeks of school were chaotic and Christmas was immediately after, so I am working on videos, but figured I'd add this one in the meantime so that there's something to watch anyways. Travelling all across the province in this compilation as I take a trip out to Waterloo area for the day to the St. Jacob's Market. Also for those who are big fans on Schitt's Creek, I found the motel, and I found the town (but the town I forgot to save the clips for). Might feature the town in a future video as it's just northeast of the GTA. The motel though for those looking is about 15 minu...

0:55 Almost had someone do that making a right on red last Friday. 1:42 Not used to anyone coming from that way I guess. Still, you should look though. 4:29 I'm guessing that's why there is no left turns. 4:48 Wrong lane, the right ones have a red light too. Just like that Range Rover. 5:45 One of those Commune Autos. Oddly enough, I rarely see them screw up though. 6:18 That's a new one. 9:02 Bad Drivers Caught On Dashcam "Yes. Cars drive here." 9:25 I did that once. Got multiple cars honking at me. 10:33 It's been a while since I've seen a Chrysler Crossfire. When I worked at McMaster, I used to tag this mouthy kid's one a lot. I mean, don't like it, don't park in a roadway and pay to park. 11:34 🤣 Old man mobile. 14:10 That's one of those bumps where I'd hit my head on the roof of my car.

Don't come for five years. They let way too many come and now our infrastructure can't keep up and all our systems are overburdened. Check back in 5 years and make sure you have an needed skill/desire to blend in to our society before immigrating here. Leave your old country and it's politics/religion and culture behind and embrace our liberal western values and traditions or don't waste our time please. If you cant do that you shouldn't come...I love that we are an immigrant nation but we have been getting some pretty shitty ones these last few years that seem to want to build their own countries traditions and cultural norms in little bubbles over here and that's not acceptable whatsoever.

1:27 I once had a plow back out without looking. I slid right into the ditch to avoid hitting him. I was lucky to be able to drive out after without having to call a tow truck. 1:49 How do you do that? 🤔🤦‍♂ 2:14 The way he sped up, I think he could see the light. 3:22 That almost sounds like the Home Depot commercial music. 7:12 I was looking for a no left turn sign. But I guess there isn't one. 7:42 Rental truck driver. That's how. 8:47 Get off the phone. 9:36 Surprised you can go that slow in a Mustang. 10:27 Surprised they didn't get blasted by an air horn. 11:14 Was that a dog or a coyote? 12:30 It's illegal to pass someone on train tracks. 13:00 It'll still pass an emissions test. 🤣

1:27 Oh dang! Never good when you slide into a ditch just to avoid someone who's unaware of their surroundings 1:49 Right?? Not like it's very confusing through there either 2:14 Very true, unless he saw it less second and was like "oh shit" 3:22 Hahaha, good ear! That's exactly what it is 😂 7:12 Weirdly enough, no. There might've been years ago, but nothing from what I can see on previous years of Google Street View 7:42 🤣 8:47 Honestly though! My grandfather almost did this when I was a kid. Thankfully there was someone in front of him but he started honking 😂 9:36 You'd think for a Mustang there would be a quicker pickup. Must be a knock off or something lol 10:27 I'm surprised too honestly 11:14 Pretty sure it was a big fluffy dog, but I thought it was a ghost when it happened. 13:00 Unfortunately 😂

0:36 Almost like they slowed down to think about whether they ran the light or not. 1:47 Driving like there are no road rules in a parking lot. 7:56 You can only see the bottom of his shoes on dashcam until you're on him, I can only imagine how much you could see IRL. 10:00 Yeah, there's always a way to do one somewhere else when there is a sign or it's in a place you shouldn't make one. Some people just can't use their imagination. 10:30 The contractor renovating our washroom when we told him a blizzard was coming and his home was in Oakville. "I'm not worried. I drive a pickup truck." 🤣🙄 11:03 Kind of weird how it continues on for so long after the arrows on the ground. 12:17 🤣 Cleared the windshield at least. Unless it didn't snow in it.

0:36 A slight buffer to determine whether their fight or flight response will kick in. A freeze if you will 😂 1:47 Or like they own the lot 7:56 Honestly shocked I even saw him. Had I been looking away for a brief second, or if an oncoming car had bright lights, I would've hit him for sure. 10:00 Sometimes you just gotta get creative, or read between the lines of the law lol 10:30 HA!!! Sounds like the one guy I went to high school with and how he thought his little Ford Focus worked. Needless to say he decided to park it on a snow bank in the parking lot one day and got it stuck up there 😂 11:03 That section of road makes no sense to me. Further down they added a left turn lane into a school, and they made the oncoming lane into a sudden sharp turn to accommodate. It makes no sense and it's in need of redesign desperately. 12:17 I think the windshield was cleared, or at least had a peep hole in it, HA!

Guess he doesn't give a sh!t if anyone hits him. 3:37 If there is a red light camera, I think the ticket for blocking an intersection is the same fine as running the red light. 6:10 I like to say in these situations "Did I have a choice?" 9:50 Good old Canadian redneck ingenuity. 🤣 11:00 I wonder why you got cut off? 🤔 I'm going to Toronto this Saturday for a Jays game. 1:04 2 of the same looking black Rams ran the red light. Looks like another glitch in the Matrix. 2:09 I don't see those anymore around here. The only two that used to have them have been replaced by arrows. 2:47 I'm picturing Dashcam Riprock's videos where you'd hear the window roll down and he'd put the middle finger emoji in the video. 3:12 Sure, take the slowest way possible to cross, instead crossing straight across. 3:17 Still convoying I see. 4:16 Darn, can't see the cab number. I get Fluke drivers at work all the time. 7:28 That doesn't look like a road that a truck that size should be on. 8:45 Park anywhere cones is a new one....... Wait (thinks back to my parking enforcement job) maybe not. 10:08 I did one recently and they turned them on. Only the second time that has worked. 11:12 I go through those a lot. No extra lanes though 6:48 LOL 14:24 Might be able to zoom in on it LOL

1:13 Where did they want the cyclist to go? 1:43 If the time on the dashcam is correct, those people are making illegal left turns. 3:29 Congratulations, you finally found a legal place to make a left and managed to f$$k that up somehow too. 🤣 4:03 U turns are illegal within 200 meters of a bridge abutment. 5:53 No left turns to get in there, I wonder if it's also no lefts out of there too. 12:17 I think I've seen that guy on Twitter before. Reminds me of the drunk guy dancing away in the middle of King Street downtown a couple of weeks. He wasn't panhandling, just being a drunken idiot. 13:51 I was just looking at footage from when I got stuck in a traffic jam because the QEW was closed for a large crash. Must have been that many people riding the shoulder that night too. I won't be getting to that footage for a while though. Even had tractor trailers doing it too. 14:31 Went to two Jays games last year. Took the Go Train both times.

Exactly! I have had to make a turn like this on occasion but I always inch my way out until I can see. I don't trust people enough to wave me on and say it's clear, cause 9 times out of 10, they don't know what's coming up in that lane either

0:46 Some roundabouts here have pedestrian crossover (yellow flashing lights) now. I wonder if that's for the same reason. 1:58 Can't say I've seen that many wild turkeys before. 2:57 Almost clipped the median. 5:59 Nope. No branch covering it. Must not know what stop is in French then. 6:55 It's a fartmobile not on purpose then. Just the muffler has holes in it. 8:43 I just edited a clip where an Audi was doing that to me and the person in front of me stopped to turn left. Well the Audi almost went in the ditch. One of those times I wish I had a rear dashcam. Oh well, guess I'll see what I can do. Got a new one for Christmas. 9:16 My dad did that in New York. He didn't think they could do it legally there also. I haven't been to Quebec since the 90's. And it was only passing through on the way to my aunts house in PEI. The best story I have of that trip was my dad trying to order at McDonald's in French and when he thought he was done the cashier asked if he wanted fries with that. She knew English. 🤣 Sheesh, that was so long ago I think I ordered McDonald's pizza there.

    • @southernontariodrivingenco9557
      @southernontariodrivingenco9557 11 месяцев назад

0:46 It appears that way. There was another roundabout I used which will likely be in the next Quebec compilation whenever that comes out, and it's the same story there. To no surprise it created quite the jam up in the roundabout. 1:58 I saw about half that a few days ago in the countryside, but otherwise, no. Funny story, that same area I was working in a farmers field, and my one coworker nearly stepped on one. Scared the shit out of him lol 2:57 In the moment I thought he wasn't going to make it 5:59 Must not, cause a red octagonal sign definitely isn't universal... 6:55 If a fartmobile is intentional, can we all agree to call this one a shartmobile?? 8:43 Had those moments of wishing the rear cam caught it before getting one. Also had that moment of realizing the dashcam wasn't plugged in for one of the potential clips of this compilation. Hard cut off and the guy started flailing his arm at me out the window. What kind of dashcam did you get? 9:16 HA! My dad did the exact same thing in Quebec in '04. Tried ordering a medium coffee with milk and sugar in French, and the cashier sarcastically repeated the order back in English. The entire restaurant then proceeded to stare and judge him. Also as far as I know, the state of New York you can make a right on red, but in NYC, it is illegal. In my opinion, they should consider putting that same law in Toronto.

@@southernontariodrivingenco9557 1:58 🤣 6:55 Good idea. 🤣 8:43 It's a VanTrue Element 1 Light. I'll have to figure it out first. Hopefully I can use it the same way as I do the current one. 9:16 🤣

1:14 I watched some sea gulls eat a whole Subway sandwich once. This guy dumped half the sandwich out his window in a parking lot and they ate everything. Bread, meat, lettuce and flew off with the wrapper. 🤣 2:06 A good old meandering bumcyclist. 3:34 Signals left, goes right, parks, signals right. 🤣 Gets honked at, moves a little, signals left, moves a little more, then turns left from the curb. 🤣🤣 7:48 Guess just a lazy person. I was going to say how but that's my answer. 8:10 He didn't want his Camry weighed? 9:14 Which police service? 10:28 I was looking for a no left turn sign for the entrance but couldn't see one.

1:44 When you were taught to ride the yellow line. 2:09 We used to do active shooter training when I worked at McMaster. They usually put up signs all over with the police logo on them that say training in progress. 4:36 I don't know why anyone would try to turn left there when it's so busy. 4:57 It does look like Bison Transport. So they aren't usually too bright. 5:56 I'm pretty sure it's still who got there first. 6:30 "One left lane closed ahead." Um, no it's not ahead of the sign. It's before it. 🤣 7:31 I've done that sometimes but not that close. 😈 That's actually illegal if I remember it right. I looked it up for someone doing that to a fire truck. 8:14 I got stuck in a turn lane a couple of weeks ago. I just made the turn anyways and made a u turn just down the road. 10:45 Old people entitlement. 12:31 Just thinking of Salty Seattle Cyclist's videos. He'd say "Wrong way f---face."

1:44 Apparently, eh? 2:09 Yeah I didn't hear anything or see anything on the news, so I'm assuming that was just training as well 4:36 That whole area is so busy anyways, I'm shocked there haven't been more crashes. It was fine when it was just Tim Hortons and the hotel down there, but now it's chaos 4:57 The Canadian version of Swift? lol 5:56 That would make sense to me, but it's such a grey zone 6:30 I don't remember if there was another one further up with construction or not, but that is still funny. I didn't even notice that lol 7:31 Yeah, I think it's illegal too. Legally I think there's a certain distance you need to keep between emergency vehicles responding. 8:14 That's honestly the best option unless there's nobody behind you at all. 10:45 Mixed with crackhead energy. I say that cause that area has a lot of crackheads around 12:31 I just recently found his channel. Been watching ZeroEnigma for a while. He's a cyclist in New York if you're not familiar with his content

0:58 I did that at the service center in Ingersoll. But I didn't back up. I just went out and around again. 3:18 Same dummy? Man, turn in your license. 4:06 Haha! The number of people lately I've been finding driving around in their own little world. 5:25 Good. Go drive distracted somewhere else. 6:31 I don't know if you've found motorcyclists have been getting worse. I mean, it's not even the sports ones doing stupid stuff now. 8:23 Guess they're travelling together. 🤷‍♂ 10:44 I used to have that happen quite a bit with the bus that I used to take between Mohawk College campuses. It would break down quite a bit between Hamilton and Brantford. I remember one time during a downpour the whole wiper arm flung right off and the driver had to pull over because she couldn't see where she was going. It was a rickety old casino shuttle bus. 13:02 And in an exit only. 14:48 Sounds like they don't know how to drive a standard.

0:58 Saw a lot of people do that when I worked at the ONroute. They'd accidentally take the truck parking exit. 3:18 Toronto drivers just don't give a shit about anything I swear, lol 4:06 Haha, honestly though! 6:31 Yeah, I've been finding that lately too. And they wonder why they get into these deadly crashes. 8:23 Possibly! One had a Quebec plate and the other was Alberta. So either they're somehow together or it was a classic case of follow the leader. 10:44 You'd think they'd do the proper maintenance on some of these busses beforehand. 13:02 It was an interesting move for sure lol 14:48 Sounds like it, but they were coming from a car meet, so my guess is they were just chest beating
