W video. Hope u ate well today brotha
Suggestion for your next trip report: Consider getting a gimbal for your phone -- it'll make the task of keeping it steady _much_ easier, and reduce the motion sickness potential of the end product (time-lapse segments in particular).
Yeah I am considering this when I get the money to. Right now in the meantime i am trying to be more stable for the ones that I am filming now.
I remember going to Montreal, amazing city However they wouldn’t allow me to go down to the platforms to Railfan :(
indeed very amazing. considering moving there after university tbh, though i'd need to learn french.
You might want to stand still while filmning, walking and filming produces nausea inducing feelings.
I have saud this before but yes, I am working on having better filming and my videos i am filming now have better filming.
BOWDOIN station is pronounced BOHHHHH - DIN not BOW A DIN
see the pinned comment.
Thanks for sacrificing yourself for us.
What were they smoking when they opened the line 15?
Well, to be fair, line 15 was origionally supposed to go underground in the beginning and use the same right of way that REM will use. but it stopped using that when they started buliding the REM.
Pathetic
I hope exo doesn't close down the 3 lines
I have a feeling that West Medford is probably the least used station as of late given both the Green Line Extension and Wedgemere getting the Winchester Center passengers during the construction of that station, which actually just reopened. Since Anderson opened the least used station for many years was actually Mishawum, but that was one of the stations that became a Covid casualty, it’s a shame because there actually is stuff around the station that can be walked to, where Anderson is more a park and ride with nothing other than access to 93. I don’t think wealth is the reason for lower ridership at wedgemere, but rather the closeness to Winchester Center, which will naturally capture many more passengers.
So I used Kendal Green one summer for a job in Weston. Hasn’t changed much in that time. Interestingly enough, until Covid this was actually one of three stations in Weston, Hastings and Silver Hill, both of which are indefinitely closed and were rush hour only for that matter, being the other two. (Hastings would have been the feature of this video if it was still in operation). A few reasons I see for the low ridership. One is Weston is one of the wealthiest suburbs of Boston, and even the nearby town center has nothing of note. Two is that the station is in a location not terribly easy to access (117 is the nearest major road and it does not actually connect to 128.) Two is Brandeis/Roberts is nearby and much better suited to commuters in that area. Three is Riverside station isn’t far from Weston either, and obviously has much more frequent service on the Green Line. There was a plan floated before Covid about a new station to consolidate the three Weston stations into one new station. Not sure what became of it.
"Bran-dice", not "Brandy-ice". Named after Brandies University, which was named after US Supreme Court Justice Brandeis. You got Worcester pretty well. That's one of the hardest Massachusetts localities and most people get it wrong. I just watched a video by a Chicago-based train and transit fan who called it "Wooster", a fairly common mispronunciation. There is a "Wooster" in Ohio, but it is spelled and pronounced that way. I don't know how the original Worcester in England is pronounced, but I suspect it is similar to the Mass city. Lots of Mass (and English) place names were locked down centuries ago and often the Mass names are pronounced the way the English namesakes were pronounced in the 16th or 17th centuries. Weston appears well-off because it is. It is the wealthiest towns in the state. and probably in the top 20-50 in the country. It might not have been obvious from the neighborhood of the station, but there are many parks and protected land in Weston, and (according to Wikipedia) over 90 miles of bike, hiking, cross-country skiing and horseback riding trails in the town!
lol i was born in massachusetts. im from here!!!!
I've always loved the Paris Métro and this kind of reminds me of a mix of the Paris Métro and the DC Metro. Great video by the way! :]
That looks so cool! I love the green 💚 By the way, your channel is super underrated, and I always look forward to your videos :]
Awwe I am so glad!! Very glad you are enjoying them, and thank you so so much. it does mean a lot to me!!
Camera to shaky
I agree. It is something I am working on in my future videos. I filmed one yesterday that is set to come out in late january and the camera is far less shakey.
Re-upload?
Yeah. the old one showed my face for a few seconds so i censored it and reuploaded.
HOLY SHIT I CLICKED ON THIS THINKING IT HAD WELL OVER 10K VIEWS AND IM ONLY NOW SEEING IT ONLY HAS 351??? YOU ARE CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED
Wow thank you!! I appreciate it a lot. <3<3<3.
The SL does not have a separated lane through the Ted Williams Tunnel. You were probably moving faster for a brief stretch in the tunnel because SLs merge into the tunnel from lighter traffic and the bus drivers are very good at remaining in the merge lane as long as possible. In my opinion, SL services are pretty solid for getting around the Seaport, but are very hit or miss when it comes to getting to/from the airport or connecting the Seaport to East Boston and Chelsea.
So i am working on a school bus travel review and hint it's so stupid lol
lmao wow i tried making one actually last year during my last year of hs.
The Silver Line buses that are used today on SL1, SL2, and SL3 are 2022 NF XDE60 which are diesel/battery hybrid. I'm pretty sure they only run on electric battery in the underground transitway between South Station and World Trade Center and then they automatically switch to diesel when reaching the surface
when the station is so rinky-dinky dogshite that they didn't even bother putting in a second platform but called it a day with a slab of concrete on the track itself also, the station building is actually someone's house.
Hahaha. The next one is similar lol.
@@arsenicCatnip413 oh god
That being said... your videos jerk around too much....that being said.
Yeah I am aware. I have fixed my narration problem and my future videos that I am currently filming are no longer as jerking around.
Its weird 1 short platform and no platform for track 2
the next least used station also has no platform for track two.
My son and I took the cap coder to Hyannis then a bus down to Provincetown. It took hours but fun.
Me and my friend did this on the day we filmed this video!!
Great video. I did the same thing and I was really annoyed when I had to walk way way down to that furthest car. Seemed ridiculous because I was passing all these empty cars.
I love the video
wtf. this video wasn't supposed to come out until noon.
I got a notification at 12am saying you uploaded and I was to tired to look so the first thing I did was to watch lmao
It's crazy that the Red Line currently has 3 types of rolling stock cars which are the 1500-1700s by Pullman-Standard, 1800s by Bombardier, and the new 1900s by CRRC
6:40 very insightful information thank you for sharing
Okay never mind this conversation with your friend is really funny you should do more
@@Taalul this friend is the other trans jewish convert in massachusetts btw
@@arsenicCatnip413 yeah I guessed
Back of the day you can get a free transfer to ride that bus and did not have to pay a fare at back bay
Here's an advice for future reference. STOP shaking your camera/phone back and forth as you are filming. It's nauseating to watch when you do that.
I appreciate it. Just to note, I was *very* wobbly especially when i filmed this specific video since i filmed it shortly after getting off crutches. this will not be an issue in much of my future videos (with the exception of the next least used one since i filmed that on the same day as this) but this is something i’m ashamed with myself and know that i am taking this in mind when filming in the future. this sunday im filming a future video that will come out in january and the number one thing i will keep in mind is to be more stable with my camera work since i do want to have better content than i do now.

thank you!!

not really
Rather crummy photography, jumpy / blurry etc.
Thank you for your feedback. I do agree that this could've been a bit better (especially in the beginning)

omg homestuck fan hiii!!!!!!
@@arsenicCatnip413 yesss lol!!! :D
FYI, it's the "least used" because it's in a very wealthy town. Wealthy people rarely use public transportation. No negativity intended here -- just a fact.
lmao this is also very true. one of my school friends live there and say that most people got BMWs for their 16th birthdays.
Very nice! My first two initials are CJ, happy karma 😁.
Be lucky you never had to encounter South Station before the renovation. You can see it in the original 1970 version of “The Out of Towners”, the one with Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis (and Billy Dee Williams!).
Also, not having to change from a Diseasel locomotive to Electric at New Haven is so great.
The Salem Witchcraft took place in today’s Danvers (Salem Village). The Trials took place in Salem Town.

Are you going to Hamilton
i’ve already been, but hamilton isn’t least used so it’ll only get a short.
When I will probably be there
I grew up midway between North Wilmington and Wilmington from 1964 to 1976. I learned to ride a bike in Wilmington and somehow survived; for a couple years I commuted into Boston for choir practice on the B&M. Wilmington station (Boston to Lowell) still has much more frequent service, and the infrequent Andover/Lawrence/Haverhill trains tended to come via Wilmington on the Wildcat branch (the trains on this branch ended at Reading). So it's not surprising North Wilmington ridership is small, but with irregular service through here to Haverhill it's good they stop here; fills a long gap in that line. Creative and intrepid of you to bicycle down from Ballardvale. In the '60s there just a ratty old asphalt platform at North Wilmington, no trains for years. Elia's Country Store was then in the gray building across the street from the station, but now is set back behind a parking lot to the left; it is still a competent local market and deli. Looking west (beyond a strip of Elia land and a town/MBTA parking lot, the big recently cleared land is proposed for 128 apartments. In Google Street View you can still see the 1950s-era commercial strip (then also owned by Elia), which in my day was big enough for a barber shop, deli (sub shop) and the Town Crier newspaper. As you began bicycling toward Wilmington, the strip mall and RMV on the south side of Middlesex Ave. was more of a business park in the 1970s; 100 years ago there used to be a tannery (N Wilmington fit on one Sanborn map page). You are so right, Middlesex Ave/Hwy 62 is a bit of a stroad. At least it has a sidewalk along one side (adequate for walking to school, and for kids on bikes but jerky to ride on); too busy a road, shoulder too narrow to ride comfortably. Farther east between the Town Common/High School/library there begins a somewhat older, mixed Colonial and railroad suburb part of town - Hwy 62 angles left and makes a beeline to the Wilmington Station, whereas Middlesex angles right and is more bucolic (but either way you emerge onto a busy strip of strip malls and highway commercial). The town bumps along on a series of eskers (glacial deposits) and swamps. One bit of nearby trivia - there used to be an abandoned, narrow-gauge railroad roadbed out past my backyard - you may be able to find it from the middle of Wilmington cemetery heading NW to Federal Street, on swampy town land. It was intended to transfer people and freight between the Boston and Lowell and the Boston and Lawrence (the Western branch) but the Boston and Lowell built the standard-gauge Wildcat branch themselves and put the local venture out of business before rails were laid.
