I like how Joffrey was sometimes surprisingly reasonable and displayed some intelligence. Gave his character just a little bit of complexity I think.

Out of context he seems soo innocent in the scene with tywin, Like if tommond was 10% less of a coward, It's soo odd, usually he'd be more petulant

The problem with imposing men like Tywin is that they impose themselves on their family too. Tywin's obsession with power and control meant he would snuff out any aspect of his children that could overshadow or overcome him and his narrow-minded vision, even if they were net positives to House Lannister. That's why he kept trying to force Jaime into being his golden heir, despite Jaime's clear lack of competence or interest in such matters. That's why he forced Cersei into political unions that ultimately only seeded strife and brought enemies closer to his family. That's why he undermined Tyrion's evident genius and cunning as he did not fit his ideal. And here, he decides to belittle and impose himself over Joffrey just to exert his superiority, despite Joffrey making sensible observations. Tywin, for all his talk of legacy, did everything to undermine and extinguish any real growth within his family.

Tywin not taking the dragons seriously was an extreme oversight from him, borderline out of character. I would expect assassin's to be sent out immediately to attempt to kill the dragons.

Honestly. Just a little bit of good parenting, and aging. And a little bit of Tyrion actually shaping him up to be a better man instead of always mocking him. I believe Joffrey would've been a great king.

I actually see some potential in Joffrey. I believe he'd actually could be a prudent decision making and a good leader if he had a proper adult to guide him but it seems like all the male figures of his life that are involved in the political decision of the crown (Tywin, Tyrion, Jaime, Robert) seems to ignore him or chalk him up to being an imbecile when I reality the kid's cruelty and impetuousness is a symptom of his insecurities, as he mistakes cruelty for hardline decision making and machismo. And his behavior is further exacerbated by his mother's doting and ingratiating. What Joffrey needs is for ego to be grounded into reality, and that can come from a strong father figure who is involved in the Game to guide him through such difficult decisions. I also believe that Tommen had also been befallen of the same unfortunate fate as he too was also put in the difficult position of being a leader with little experience and no guidance, though unlike Joffrey who externalizes his insecurities through cruelty it seems that Tommen internalizes his insecurities which in the end led to his ultimate fate. 😢

One of the few moments where Joffrey shows some intellect. A Royal Army may be expensive, but it makes mounting a defense a lot easier.

Looking back on it, It is weird how uncooperative every major house was with eachother while still somehow having to be beholden to the crown, not just a standing army but more communication between the realms would have gone a long way

its funny how in the current setting of GoT it took a mere 300 years for the denizens of the realm to see Aegon and Balerion as nothing but legends and myths. When in reality it couldn't be more true

The way Joffrey looks around completely incredulous when Tywin admits that Daenerys *does in fact* have 3 dragons. It's like he's saying; "Is this dude fucking serious? You guys see this shit? Is he seriously "unconcerned" about *3 FUCKING DRAGONS?"*

Joffrey if he made it to Season 8 Joffrey: See? You see!? Dragons! I told you grandfather! Tywin: What do you want, a knighthood? *scoff* Joffrey: Men, seize him. I want his head on a spike! *guards hesitate and remain steadfast* Tywin : You are dismissed, men *guards leave* Tywin: As for you, you little shit. I suggest you go cower with your mother someplace dark while me and your Uncle Jamie try and figure a way out of this mess.

The reason the other lords have their own armies is for two reasons. The first being for kings like Joffrey and Aerys II who both mistreat the people the other lords armies are meant to deter the kings from becoming tyrants under threat of rebellion. The second is so the lords can defend their lands and people they lord over themselves instead of waiting for their possibly tyrannical king to maybe send them soldiers to help.

I haven't read the books. In the show, it's somewhat implied that Joffrey isn't interested in women. He never showed any real romantic or sexual interest in either Sansa or Margaery. But there isn't any indication that he was interested in men either. He seems to only care about his own power, and he only seems to take pleasure in exerting his power in sadistic ways.

It was a rare scene of Joffrey acting wise in the face of and against the position of Tywin. Of course, it could just be that Tywin was downplaying the threat so as not to set off the loose cannon that is his grandsons. That wasn't a typo, it was an incest joke. Now Cersei remained a fool to the end. Foolish here in doubting the girthy threat of a dragon, like Balerion's skull that outsizes you isn't under the freaking Red Keep. He grew that large, hence they can grow that large, YOU have no idea how long it takes them to grow that large, and still the misplaced bravado. Foolish in the end when she believed elephants would save the day. Although I don't 100% fault her character for that, everyone became stupid in those last seasons.

Viserys had nothing but hate and jealousy for Dany. He wanted to be considered "The Dragon", when deep down he knew wasn't a dragon of any kind. Viserys was too stupid to understand that these people were only returning the love and respect that his sister had shown them from day 1. No one would want him to be king after seeing how treats his own sister!

Tywin said that dragons haven't won the war in 300 years and first I was like... yeah? But then I realized they did not win in Dorne and also in the Dance it really was armies at the end, not the dragons. Even the small Stepstones thing was at the end not won by dragons.
