Double Cross-Grip Takedown
This is a very unusual takedown done from a double-cross grip. Tori cross grips uke's sleeve and lapel. This was first seen in 2004 when Dmitry Nosov of Russia used it against Masahiko Tomouchi of Japan. In recent years, a player who has had good success with it is former World Champion Nemanja Majdov of Serbia. At the 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Slam, Zelim Tckaev of Azerbaijan did a fantastic version of it. Here's how it's done.

Fukuda Roll
Просмотров 1452 месяца назад
The Japanese like to do a roll where they slip underneath uke and flip them over using their legs. World Junior Champion Yamato Fukuda does an unusual variation on that roll that is far less risky (of being countered). We call this the Fukuda Roll, and here's how you do it.
Parlati's Drop Ouchi
Просмотров 2 тыс.Год назад
Italy's Christian Parlati has a unique drop ouchi-gari whereby he drops to his left knee and his right leg would then do a circling action to take uke down. It's that combination of a sudden drop and the whirling action that catches his opponents by surprise. Check out how smooth he is with this movement. Cardoso's (Legal) Leg-Block Tomoe Nage
Просмотров 1 тыс.Год назад
Under today's rules, you are not allowed to use your hands or arms to assist in a throw but there is a loophole. If tori is still holding onto uke's sleeves when the arm touches uke's leg, it's considered legal. This is why Cardoso's (above) leg-block tomoe-nage is perfectly legal. Gerchev of Bulgaria, who also likes tomoe-nage, sometimes does the same thing, making sure he is still holding ont...
Stojadinov's Uchi-Makikomi
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.Год назад
Andrea Stojadinov (SRB) has a very unique technique that resembles uchi-makikomi. It's like a seoi-nage overshoot and it traps uke so that when you roll, uke rolls with you. She's not the only one who does this. Michael Korrel (NED) sometimes does this too. But Stojadinov is really an expert in this technique and she does it very frequently. Kamps was the first to get belated Gold

The Doha World Championships 100kg final between Teddy Riner (FRA) and Inal Tasoev (AIN) was very controversial as the throw by Tasoev was not given a score. The IJF later corrected that and subsequently decided to give Tasoev a joint gold medal (with Riner). Although this is highly unusual, it has happened before. In the 2021 World Junior Championships 78kg final, Coralie Hayme (FRA) was given...
Tasoev gets belated Gold

During the Doha World Championships 100kg final between Teddy Riner (FRA) and Inal Tasoev (AIN), there was one situation where neither the referee on the mat nor the IJF Refereeing Commission gave any score. Following a thorough expert analysis, according to the current refereeing rules, a score could have been awarded for Inal Tasoev’s counterattack. Therefore, the International Judo Federatio...

Grigalashvili's Counter against Side Takedown
At the eighteenth second he was already in dreamland, why continue?
Because ref didn't call ippon. If you are instead of white judoka you should be continue too. It is judo.
amazing how the reality of real judo is totally different to the rubbish thats gets taught
Clear one for me...
thing of beauty
Stojadinov is too young and strong for old athlete from kazakistan ( I suppose). She put her to sleep immediatly without reactions of the rival. Very deep sleep.
Age isn't important. Both are same of the weight category and it is important. Stojadinov is younger and more quality judoka than her opponent. But for her opponent is honor that she could to start of the tournament of the highest level.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
This isn't Sumi otoshi. Uke is not falling over his corner heel. This looks like Sukui nage / Te guruma
Thank you! Will try.
Yes.
Refs are a joke
That was clean
Je crois cest un blocage
What a beautiful variation!
I use this move every time once I won 5 games in randori using this I even beat a orange belt 16 year old (I’m a 13 year old yellow belt) who always beats me
There is no wrong side, only wrong kuzushi
In Georgian Chidaoba this throw calld AMOGLEJA
I like Maruyama, no kumikata, just shows up, grabs and throws.

PREVENT BRAIN DAMAGE IN SPORT !!!!!!!! REPORTED TO RUclips THAT IS A CULTURE WOULD HABE JUDO BANNED FROM OLYMPICS IF THEY CONTINUE
そもそも何で再スタートで戻ろうとする相手の襟を掴んで倒そうとしたの?
That's within the rules of judo. Just because u don't like the sportsmanship of other player doesn't mean u just knee him
No wazari
How does she do that! I can't see how she locks
It's all see very good. At 0:05 Stojadinov's right hand catch opponent's collar and put it under opponent's chin and this collar cuts to opponent neck in the same time. It is key for this action. Then Stojadinov controlls the opponent and she increases pressure to opponent's neck when she pulls strongly this collar and she adjusts opponent's position for the best choking effect.
@@judojudo3808 wow, are you a fighter?
@@PaulNdirangu-j4o I was the judoka. Now I am old. Sometimes I am ref on the some competions.

It's a bow and narrow choke, which is often used at turtle or back-control position.
Boom!!
The strongest morote seoi nage ever, imo.
Bad officiating. Schtewpid England
Nowadays his every throw in this compilaton would have been ippon.

Collar chokes are so weak.. should be banned.
Weak? Can you see in this video how sttong and effective it is?
One thing I’ve noticed training with judo guys they mostly suk on the ground
😂😂😂 WTF bro 😂😂😂u need to learn judo before Open Ur mouth
Stop, she's already dead!
she was already asleep at 0:14
Shi**y ref
First two throws, are having ippon score
Purtroppo non è punto la sua gamba sx doveva scavalcare quella sx di Riner perché l'azione fosse sua. Così mi hanno spiegato
It have too many win by Hansoku-Make for having 3 shidos with the new rules. It is not a good maner to win and it is not good for judo. I prefer the old rules with Shido, Chui, Keikoku and Hansoku-Make, so 4 penalties. They should examine that
they should make a youtube channel just for idiot bjj refs, he looks like he's ordering food service while the girl is out due he didn't stop it
It's Judo

sad situation but lovely feet

To the obsessive people like me who want to learn more about this choke it's called Kataha jime. Tsunoda typically goes for this technique after putting her hooks in her opponent and flattening them out from top turtle, most of the time this is used as a set up to her Juji Gatame but her opponent (Pont) was really good at defending her arm attacks so she switched things around and focused on the choke and it paid off.
From this position Tsunoda can't go for her favourite juji gatame. But she change it fantastic. At 0:05 she got her left hand grabs Pont's collar and she got this collar under Pont's chin (it's a shame we don't see it from the opposite angle). Then she turn on Pont only and she help by right hand and right leg blocks Pont's shoulder and Kata Ha jime is completed succesfuly. I agree with you it was amazing action.
and she is send 108 years in prison for attempted murder..
As to why the ref does not intervene to prevent brain damage, or at least a splitting headache, is completely beyond me. MMA refs are, as a class, better at protecting people who are clearly unconscious.
The brain will have zero brain damage from a few seconds of lack of oxygen.
@@cinattra Loss of consciousness (which indicates at least mild brain injury) needs to be avoided. The referee failed at his job, which is to protect the participants of any match.
@@nomedigaasi This is show business, baby, well I think they both enjoyed it.
@@kalmansovari6878 it’s irresponsible of the referee to fail to manage the match, Judo is supposed to be a sport, not a war.

Bravoo
This would be illegal in judo nowdays, as spinning on the head and "bridging" your back to avoid ippon are both grounds for either hansoku make (disqualification) or immediate ippon to the opponent (effectively the same result).
What just happened? Lol
Classic combination
