I want to go there
very nice place
Thank you. Have a nice day.
Hi which month was the video taken in?
It was March this year. Thanks for watching.
the best metro station in Syd
Agree. loving it.....
Yeah. I used to like Newtown a lot, but I fear its lost its edge a bit. It's still "nice", but as it says in the notes, 'counter-culture has become trendy'. As someone who has always wanted to subvert the dominant paradigm, I feel I now have to go elsewhere. And almost my surprise its in the West of Sydney that I now more commonly find its leading edge.
Thanks for sharing. Where are the west of Sydney that you are referring? I am very curious and would like to take a walk there. Sydney is a beautiful city that has so many possibilities to offer. I Leo Sydney so much and couldn't wait to learn more about it and share the Sydney I know in my channel. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and have a great weekend. 🌹
@@smallworldBigwalk That's an excellent question and there's quite a bit to unpack there. To give some context, geographically when people talk of "Sydney" they often think of the harbour, the CBD and its surroundings. It's the places tourists and influencers constantly photograph and vlog about. .Sydney's centre (or sometimes even its entirety) is thought of as such. Yet its population centre is actually around Rosehill and moving towards Parramatta. Yet they get called 'western suburbs', when they are really the 'central suburbs'. Historically that image of Sydney belongs to the 1950s, a time when you needed to 'go into the city' to do anything important, if you lived 'way out there'. Sydney Harbour was once a working harbour; now it's just a pleasure lake, cruise ship destination and tourist ferry route. Places like Darling Harbour, Woolloomooloo, Barangaroo, Surrey Hills, Enmore, Kings Cross and the Rocks were once genuinely gritty/edgy places. But they have now been gentrified, pacified, and made photogenic. It does wonders for property values, but something gets lost in that process, and I think it might be authenticity. None of this is a criticism of your clips. You have often made real efforts to go to places in Greater Sydney, that are outside that box. It's often in those 'other places' where that edge, that authenticity and that grit still manifests. It's often more about the people than it is just about the place. Metaphorically I'm less interested in fine dining than I am in getting a real taste of the authentic cuisine. I want to get a taste for what it is like to live there, than just bask in its superficial charms. That probably makes me unusual, as the demand is probably more for the familiar, the pretty and the famous. But great insights and art always arise at the edge. The ancient Greeks thought of themselves as 'civilised', while those outside their walls were mere 'barbarians'. Western Sydney is outside the walls of 'Nice Sydney', and that's why it is more interesting to me. And it's not just Western Sydney, places like the Illawarra, the Hunter, the Southern Highlands and the Central Coast are all full of sights and stories. I won't go into more rural areas, as your clips seem usually more about urban walks. So here are a few suggestions, selected for being amenable to walks Parramatta - the mix of cultures - the first grain - the first Government House - the Rum Rebellion - the ferry ride - the history of real individuals recorded along the riverbank - the towers and transport - the parks - Eat Street - the vast health and education precincts - the urbanity of a big city within a big city. Camden / Campbelltown / Liverpool - the preservation of Camden as a delightful village - the quaintness of Cobbitty - the historic airport precinct - the vast Mt Annan Botanic Gardens - Green Valley (the dumping ground for the 'barbarians' ousted from inner Sydney suburbs to facilitate gentrification - check out "Whatever Happened to Green Valley?" on RUclips, made decades ago by the famous director Peter Weir, who gave them the equipment and a bit of help to tell their own stories) Penrith / St Marys / Blacktown - The Nepean River river and river walk - the Penrith commercial centre - the Mulgoa Rd precinct (entertainment, clubs, eateries, adventure venues, sports venues and, for such a lively place, co-located with aged care facilities) - St Marys, a place in transition, the stepping off point and metro connection for the new Western Sydney Airport - Sydney Zoo - the parklands - and the vast amount of industry. It might not have the impressive buildings of Harbour Sydney, but it was mostly people from Western Sydney that built those. There are heaps more. Cabramatta and Bankstown are great places for authentic food and cultural events. New developments which represent modern approaches to community (for better or worse) can be found in places like Oran Park and Edmondson Park. Haven't even mentioned places iliked the Hills District, but I'm less familiar with it. And I suppose places like Olympic Park, Auburn, Wentworth Park, Rhodes, Burwood, Ashfield and Strathfield are sort of in the West, even though east of the population centre of Greater Sydney.
@@tacitdionysus3220 Thanks for your reply. I will try to walk more and know more of the city I love so much. Many places that you mentioned are new to me, I will try to explore them in the future. Thank you very much and have a great day. 🌹
Hello, my friend😊It’s been a while. I finally opened RUclips again😂👍 Mitsui Outlet Park has so many shops that you end up wanting everything, right?🤩 It’s such a fun, dream-like place❤👕🍽️ Seeing Uniqlo somehow makes me feel at ease😍 The architecture varies by location, so it was fun to look at☺️ It didn’t seem crowded, so it looked very easy to walk around🚶♀️ I’ll definitely come back to watch your videos when I have time😸 Sorry for always being at my own pace😭 Have a great day👍🌤️
I ended buying nothing at all. I used to like to shop but now I like to experience and feel the places I go to. Shopping is no longer a must whenever I travel, and I want to believe that less is more, although it's still a long way to go. I will post the outlet I went in Osaka and they are very identical in many ways. Don't worry about the frequency that you post your videos, sometimes I also feel lazy or might be too busy to do it. Just take it easy and enjoy it when we have time or feel like to do it. Have a great weekend 🌹❤🤝
Where’s all the people?
I had the same question whenever I go to these outlets. The outlet in Osaka was the same, wondering how these shops can survive?
We visited Sydney 5 years ago, and it remains a wonderful representation of Australia's charm. Your vlog captured it perfectly! Like and support from Bangalore.
It's very kind of you sharing your encouragement. 🌹Australia is a great country and Sydney is my dream city to live. Thank you very much. Your words made my day. Have a great weekend. ❤
Lovely video! However, all the areas in the video are in Paddington, not Woollahra. Also, Vaucluse House and South Head Heritage Trail are not in Woollahra, they are in Vaucluse, NSW.
Thanks for sharing. When I was editing the video, I add the actual suburb in the time stamp, these three suburbs are very close to each other. All are very pretty suburbs. Thank you for you feedback. Have a great weekend. 🌹
Nice 😊
thank you
Used to live not too far from Woollahra , didn't like it very much, it's a pretty fucked up suburb, along with Bondi Junction
Thanks for watching. Sorry to hear that you didn't have good experience living in this neighbourhood. I think one of the best thing in living in Sydney is that the choices of where to live is unlimited. Thanks for sharing. Have a great day.
Victoria, Australia is one of the places I want to visit🥰🇦🇺 I loved the passage with the round ceiling that felt like a spaceship😍 I was surprised to see such a meticulously designed station😮❤ The city is truly impressive😊 The long escalators are also something unique to urban areas👍 I’m sorry I can’t watch your videos often😭 Thank you for always making enjoyable videos🩷 Have a great day🌤️😸
Victoria Cross ≠ Victoria. They named several things after the Queen who spent most of a century on the throne.
No worries. It's good to focus on your studies. Sydney is a great ciyy and hope you'll have time to visit it one day. The new Metro Line is the focus of local news recently and I have been to all the stations a fe times already. Thank you for your encouragement and best wishes for you and your future studies. ❤🌹🤝
@@whophd Thanks for sharing. I am curious how they named all the stations. Do you know? Thanks for watching. 🌹
Amazing wha they've done to the place
Yes,how amazing it is. The Metro Line really changes many peoples' life when it comes to commuting to City to work. Thanks for watching.
Why r u still sticking with one place
Because I had to go back to the platform level to go to another exit. This station is not confusing but it requires some walking to go from one end to another end. Thank you.
U r confused or what?????
No, I am not confused. The signs are very clear but it is very big and deep so I need to walk back to the platform level to go to another exit. Thanks for watching. Have a good day.
Seems rail transport in Sydney has a fixation with having to walk kilometres to catch a train. Pity the elderly that have to make the trek. Central is a rabbit warren of tunnels too. Awful.
@@harrygoldun5779 It's quite common walking a long way underground in many major cities in the world. I remember walking more than 15 minutes in Japan trying to get to an exit and got lost many times. Luckily we have many different means of transportation in Sydney. Thank you for you your sharing and have a wonderful day.
That blue light tunnel is just plain lazy. They seem to have ran out of budget to get it designed properly.
It is a luminous tunnel and the colour changes in different time of the day. The metro station is very modern and beautiful. Thanks for watching.
It looks bloody amazing
It was originally supposed to be a tunnel full of shiny advertising screens, so the loss of budget led to an improvement 😂
I agree the change in colours changes the mood and vibe in the tunnel and there is also music players in the tunnels. It’s beautiful and unexpected especially with the changing colours.
Bro what? The tunnel is the coolest part
Wow~!
Thanks for watching.
Thanks for sharing. I don't know this area too much. It was my first time walking through this part of Hong Kong and couldn't help falling love with it. It was very pretty and I wish I could spend more time there. Things are changing constantly, sometimes for better and sometimes not. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts with me. Have a great day. 🌹
It’s a sophisticated urban city🏢🤩 The buildings with lots of greenery caught my attention🌿 When you enter the alleys, there are delicious-looking restaurants, and I would like to dine there😋 The illustrations on the walls and the lanterns are beautiful! 🏮🎨🩷 The latte art is also cute☕️ It seems like I can almost smell the delicious aroma😍🍽️ Thank you for the enjoyable video🥰👍
Sydney is an amazing city and I really love it more and more. Spice Alley offers different cuisines from mainly Asian countries and I really like the vibe of it. It's not too far from the Central Station so very time I go to the station, I would stop by and take a look at the wall arts. Thanks for your encouragement. ❤🤝🌹 I have been busy chasing the new metro station in Sydney. These new stations are quite grand and beautiful. Look forward to the spring, I cannot wait to enjoy the best season in the year. What about Japan? I love the fall season in Japan because of the read leaves,. Japan is great because it has four seasons and we only have two in Sydney, cold and warm.😁😁😁
I’ve only visited the airport a few times, so I’m happy to see it in the video😊✈️ There are various shops, including some that look quite high-end. It seems like it would be fun to go shopping there❤ Since it’s spacious, walking around would be good exercise👍 The high-end brand stores have impressive entrances😮👜 Thank you for the enjoyable video😍
Thank you , my friend. I have been to many airports and this is a comparatively small airport but full of her own charm. I like this airport and the food was also very delicious. I sometimes do shopping at the airport but as I get older and older now I don't shop too much and have learned to enjoy the moment. Thank you and take care, don't rush and stay cool. Have a great weekend. ❤🤝🌹
Thank you for another enjoyable walking video🥰 The low buildings make the sky look wider, which is nice🌤️🏢 The town has a nostalgic feel to it😌 The use of colors on the buildings is stylish. Brick-colored buildings really catch the eye⛪️ I’ll take my time to watch all the videos when I have more time🙌🏼Have a wonderful day☺️👍
Newtown is a unique neighbourhood and I like it very much. In fact, I had not come here for a few years and I don't know it is because I was filming or it has been changed, I saw a different Newtown this time. There are many interesting suburbs in Sydney, I have a long list to film and cannot find the time to do so yet. ❤ Thanks for watching. ❤

I like old towns and Tainan has many of them. Thanks for watching.❤
thanks for the video as im going to Taiwan in October, but only for 5 days. This city looks lovely, I looked it up and it's 3 hours by train from the capital. How long did you spend it the country?
This is the city for the history and the most delicious food in Taiwan. If you are going to Taiwan for the first time, I would suggest you stay in one city ,say Taipei to fully enjoy it, and maybe plan to see more when you go to Taiwan again. I think one can easily spend a few weeks in Taiwan and still find it very interesting. If you really like old buildings and yummy street food, Tainan is the city to go. I've never been to sydney but sorry to say why do this place look so depressing? It's like some poor cities in the U.S..
This suburb is very close to where the richest people in Australia live and some of those terrace houses in my film cost more than 5 million USD. I lived in the U.S. for some years before and the poor cities in America I have been to do not look like this, in my experience. Have you been to Europe? Paris? Old districts of some cities sometimes are more interesting to visit. Now we are in bloody cold winter and the weather is not too good. Thanks for watching. Have a good day!
@@smallworldBigwalk Totally agreed with you, I've been to US, some really rundown suburbs do not look like this at all! They have lots of old furniture and rubbish in front of the houses, old broken cars etc! This place are clean and cars are new on the street. Each house is well kept.
@@abylai2493 These suburbs are all very expensive, I don't think they look like some poor cities in the US at all. Thanks for your sharing and have a great weekend. 🌹

The buildings are so cute and just my taste😍🏡 I wonder what kind of people live there☺️The design of the railing on the second floor is very detailed and has beautiful patterns👍❤ The moments when delicious-looking food appeared were also fantastic🍝😋 The architecture of the church is beautiful⛪️ Every part of the town is picturesque🌲🤩 Brick buildings are rare in Japan, so it felt fresh😊 Thank you for the enjoyable video❤❤
Yes, I like these old terrace houses and can you believe it that some are priced for $5 millions USD for sale in the market now. This area is very close to where the richest people in Australia live. I went to one of the most expensive street in Sydney and Australia today, and I wouldn't have been there if not for filming. I like my walking tour videos because they motivate me to walk more and get to know more of this beautiful city. It’s a very urban area, but it also has nostalgic old buildings and a calming townscape😊🏢 It was interesting to see Japanese anime characters within the colorful walls👍 The old-looking stairs had a charming atmosphere❤ It was also soothing to see it as a resting place for dogs🐶🐕 I was surprised to find a pool in the middle of the city😮 It’s a fun town with many discoveries☺️ Thank you for sharing the enjoyable video🥰👍
Thank you, my friend. ❤❤❤ Hong Kong is an amazing city full of the past, and at the same time embracing so much of the present. I always find myself lost in the time whenever I stroll along the roads in Hong Kong. I particularly enjoy the old part of Hong Kong and often find it captivating. Some buildings are charmingly quaint and some are too quiet to believe they are actually located in the centre of the city, just next to one of the most expensive building in the world. Hong Kong always has the power to blend the past into the present without any sense of dissonance. Have a good night. 🌹🌹
❤❤❤❤ nice
Thank you for watching. 🌹
It was interesting to see the birds in the market😂🪿 It was great to be able to buy a variety of ingredients🥰 The big fish looked delicious. Can you cut a fish? 🐟 I can't, so my dream is to learn how to cut a fish and then buy a whole one😊👍 What a great place to walk and get some exercise while buying fresh ingredients!❤ And being able to buy accessories too makes it perfect for a date💍😊 The colors are all so beautiful and captivating🤩
I cannot cut fish,so I always have them cleaned before I bring them home and cook. One thing I need to learn here is that chicken is sold as a whole and you need to cut it by yourself and I find it very difficult so I lost interest in making some chicken recipes that require cutting the chicken in pieces. This market is fun to stroll through and buy some fresh veggies. But I don't come very often because it's a bit far from home. After this trip, I think it's better to come early in the morning so there are more selections of veggies and fruits. Thank you my friend and have a great Sunday. ❤
Gee you get around! We always look forward to your videos. Thank you!
Thank you very much and it's very encouraging to see feedback like this. Thank you. I have been uploading videos and really enjoy what I do. Whenever my channel pops up on my RUclips page while I am watching RUclips on my TV, and I will click it to see my vide on my big TV screen makes me feel happy. These are my collection of memories far or near and that's what makes me continue to enjoy it. Thank you my friend. Have a great day! 🌹
I was amazed by the beauty of the university buildings😮❤ The buildings with many glass windows reflect the sky beautifully🌤️ The town, rich in nature and sophistication, is perfect for a walk🚶♀️ The castle-like beautiful buildings attract many young people😊 I also want to go there and take lots of photos📸 The “Welcome” sculpture is cute too! 😍 Thank you for the enjoyable video, my friend👍
University of Sydney is one of the most popular site for wedding photos taking, I guess many of people met their best half when they were in the uni. These days the weather has been wonderful which has encouraged me to do more walks. When the weather is right, everywhere is beautiful. I hope that one day you will come to Australia and enjoy the beauty the country can offer. It has the best cafe vibe in the world. And the people are nice and friendly. What is your dream destination when you make your first trip overseas? I did mine long time ago and Japan was on my top three list. I suppose Japan is the only foreign country I have been to for more than ten times and still remains on the top on my trip plan. I want to live in Japan for a period of time, I want and I will. Japan is so much fun........lovingn it..... Have a great weekend my dear friend and look forward to watching your video again, ❤🌹🤝
@@smallworldBigwalk It's great that the University of Sydney is popular for wedding photos👰📸 I might be lucky to visit a place like this! ❤️💍 The top three countries I want to visit are Finland, Australia, and Hawaii (USA)✈️ In Australia, there is a cat that rides a SUP in the ocean🐈🌊🏄♀️ I would love to visit because it is surrounded by beautiful houses😍 The friendliness of the people is also very attractive🤝🩷 Why do you like Japan and want to live here? 🇯🇵 I'm so happy to hear that you like Japan so much🥰 You might like Japan more than I do☺️👍
@@Ginger_Hangout I can see that you like beaches and wondering what makes you like Finland? I went to Finland in 2012? gosh, it is already 12 years ago? Or maybe even longer than that. I love this city very much even I only stayed there for 3 nights. I went there because I wanted to go to the Baltic States. It was a wonderful trip and I always want to travel back to Europe again. I used to go almost every summer. Now it's too far from where I live now. Japan is fun to travel and I guess it's fun to do a short stay as a tourist. I used to plan to go to Japan to attend a short-term language school but never did it. I like the food the culture and the vibe and the shopping. It's easy for me to like Japan as a tourist but I think it's very difficult for the people who live there and work there. Come to Australia and I know you'll love it because your videos show that you like beaches and western style accessories. When you do come, don't forget the cafe vibe. I remember in the early stage of my travelling journey, I met many female solo travellers from Japan. They were so brave and some of them didn't even know English. Your English is good, you can travel far when you can. Go for it my friend.❤❤❤
It was 40 degrees where I live today🥵I cooled off by watching your video, which showed a place with a temperature of 10 degrees😊👍 I’m very attracted to the area with many individual shops🥰 There is a wide variety of fruits! 🥭🍋🟩💛 I always get confused when choosing fruits at the supermarket, but in this place, shopping for fruits is fun because of the many options😍 The sidewalks in the shopping street are also wide, making it easy to shop🚶♀️ Thank you, my friend, for the fun city walking video☺️
When it comes with fruit selection, I think Japan has many many choices. When I am in Japan, I love to buy fruits there, especially apples, my top choice. In Australia, we also have a good selection of fruits and vegetable because we have a state called Queensland where most of the fresh produce is grown there. I went to Queensland last year and really enjoyed my time there. We have had a terribly cold winter but I know heat over 35°C is also unbearable. You are looking forward to cooler autumn and I am hoping spring to come. The days that I have turn on the heater have broken my record. Bankstown is a suburb in Sydney that I like to go for the vibe and food. Thank you for the encouragement. Have a good day ❤️🌹😘
It’s interesting how the seasons are the opposite in our countries😊🌻⛄️ Seeing everyone dressed for winter is refreshing🧥 It’s so hot every day that I miss the cold of winter🥺💓 By the way, the station is very beautiful and impressive🤩 I thought the three-dimensional walls were beautiful😮❤ When I went outside, I saw wide roads, but it seemed like there were no crosswalks like in Japan🚸If there are no cars coming, is it okay to cross?😊🥾
This winter has been a long and cold one, I don't enjoy too cold or too hot as when the weather gets too extreme, everything seems difficult. Luckily it has been quite sunny in the day time so I get to go out and film some interesting footage in the morning. We do have cross roads and all the vehicles have to give way to pedestrians or they will be fined. Some parts of the Central Station is in open underground, maybe that's what you refer to. Thank you for watching and have a great Sunday. ❤🌹
@@smallworldBigwalk I see! 🙂It depends on the country🌏🚙 Thank you for answering my question🥰 Have a great Sunday☺️🌤️❤️
@@Ginger_Hangout I meant cars have to give way to people....typo ,I think it's the same in Japan, right?
@@smallworldBigwalk Yes, it’s the same in Japan🇯🇵 Recently, I attended a lecture for my driver’s license renewal. During the lecture, they mentioned that more than half of the people in my area do not follow the rules🤔 Indeed, when walking, the probability that drivers will definitely stop is about fifty-fifty😂
Hi ex Lindfield resident, Lindfield has changed so much since i left in 1978 as a 12 year old child, still lots that haven't changed.. but do you know what is happening with Lindfield Flats? 21 Lindfield avenue.. 20:19 on your video, see they have removed the rear staircase and lots of the lower floor brickwork.. I lived in top right hand flat 1970-1978..I actually fell from the roof in about 1973 to the ground somehow survived.. am curious what is going on flats appear to be empty..I would really love to know what is going on .. The flats meant to have heritage protection that seems to mean very little these days.. Thanks for the video, The old Methodist church is now a Korean church & Chromhurst Special school is still there although much more developed.. Just about everything from St Alban's church to Korean church has changed esp the northern side of Tryon road.. There use to be tennis courts & squash courts .. they been gone quite a while now..
Thanks for sharing. It is always exciting to see people share what the place I filmed looked like before. Many places to me are new and knowing what they were like made me feel what I do is meaningful for someone like you who has left a place you used to live and can have a look what they are like now. Falling from the roof sounds quite horrible, I am glad you survived. I guess they are going to build more units there. The housing price in Sydney is going crazy and I wonder when it can stop. Many beautiful houses are being knocked down to build more flats and I hope those churches can be there for many years to come. Everything is changing fast nowadays, sometimes I have hard time to catch up. Thanks for watching my video. I am trying to record something and I can watch them when I get older and older. This is how I decided to start my channel.
❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Thank you. 🌹
