Say what you want about english dub in the ninties, but Slayers Next still holds up. Great characters, plot, world building, and villains. It inspires my own fantasy world building to this day. It’s awesome when a show you loved growing up stays awesome as you get older.

In the manga it was hinted at that the Talismans/amplifiers were needed to channel the full Gigaslave. I guess it was part of Hellmaster's plot and Xellos had to bite the bullet and give away his precious present from Ruby Eye. It is also funny how nobody in the Slayers universe questions artefacts like the talismans or tries to find historic sources to learn about things. I mean, hello, magic stones cast with the blood from all four mazuko lords? That is not exactly over-the-table goods.
