This collision has nothing to do with the batter-runner not being in the running lane. The running lane is there to prevent interference on a throw, usually by the catcher. Neither the fielder nor the runner did anything wrong.

INT..the runner is running inside the line. That's INT right there..On the initial play, the runner's responsibilty to avoid.

@mae2759 actually the first basemen isnt doing what he is supposed to be doing. do that at a higher level and you wake up in the hospital.

I've been a Little League Umpire for 10 years and at this point I am now the Head of Umpires for my local Regional League. Also I have put on several Umpiring clinics these many years and in this play the Umpires made the correct call as there are no infractions to little league rules at this point. Great Call.

wow. you guys are all dumb... the runner is out. there is clearly no running lane in this league. you don't need to have your foot on the base. there's no obstruction... the runner and fielder both have a right to the base and the base line. so... yeahh

There was no malicious intent by the runner, however the runner should have been utilizing the running lane in foul territory. The contact was incidental because the fielder was going for the ball and during the collision, he tagged the runner and maintained possession of the ball. Out on the tag.

runner is out fielder was going for the ball the runner has 3 feet to each side to avoid contact. on little league any conact from the runner to a fielder turns into an out when the fielder is going for the ball if not going for the ball then its obstruction and the runner gets a base.

hes out, perfectly legal. however most little league plays of this sort the first baseman usually just lets the ball sail away and retrieves it afterwards bc he does not want to get run over. the things people do for an out lol

The BR is given opportunity to attain the bag. The first baseman has posession of the ball at time of the contact. The BR is also outside the 45ft lane. Interference, batter is out, runners if any, return.
