Hey what is the dry time for the red uv emulsion? Im at 29 degrees right now my storage place is like at 24 degrees
There is not really a dry time since everyone's environment and techniques they use are going to be different. Some areas it can dry in a few hours' others need a day or so.
Hi,what's that lamp you used called?
This is a UV LED lamp. You can find the link to it in the video description as well as all the other items used in this video.
Hi my Emulsion was extremely loose unlike the video and others I have seen could I have received a poor batch? will that effect printing
Great question, we don't think it would be a bad batch. Emulsion is made in batches of 300 gallons so if it were a bad batch we would definitely hear about it. If you are concerned about the quality of your product, please contact customer service at info@screenprintdirect.com
My Ecotex PWR wasn’t thick at all when I used it is that normal
Hi, if you think you are experiencing issues with your products, please contact customer service at info@screenprintdirect.com
Hello, I dry the silk with a hair dryer but I burn it. How many minutes do you dry it for?
We recommend letting the screen coated with emulsion to cure naturally unless you have a heating cabinet. We do not recommend using a heat gun or hair dryer to expedite the process.
I hear that flash dryers are only good for temporary curing if you're printing multiple colors. Will a flash dryer provide a thorough heat curing by itself?
Great question! For our Rapid Cure inks, they require a temperature of 270°F, which your flash dryer is fully capable of reaching. When printing multiple colors, it’s important that the ink hits that temperature to ensure proper curing. You should have no issues using a flash dryer to fully cure your prints.
I love your ideas on Multi colours. Speaking of inspiration, Adinspiration is great for finding fresh ad ideas, especially for creators like you. Have you heard of it?
I sent an email going to 4 days now no response from anyone
Our customer service department responds to emails withing 24-48 hours. Please check your spam and or junk folders since we have a lot of customers find their emails in those places.
Hey! So ive been having a doubt for the last 2 years jeje when you do the emulsión coating does it has to be in a dark place? Or just for the drying
We always recommend handling emulsion in dark rooms. For educational purposes it's easier to show the steps with proper lighting.
very nice video❤❤❤❤
Thanks!
what type of paper is this? thanks ❤
Hey great question, this actually isn't paper. It's a film that is used to make plastisol transfers.
what type of paper is this?
This is actually a film that is meant for making plastisol transfers.
Very helpful😊
Awesome! If you ever have any questions, feel free to reach out.
So you don't have to pre heat the transfer sheet before applying the plastisol ink... ?? Thanks 🙏👍
You don't need to "pre heat" the sheet but you do need to semi cure it once you print your ink on it.
Where can i buy this plastic ink
Thats a great question, this ink ended up being discontinued. For a good alternative plastisol version our Rapid Cure White would be your go to.
That ink will work on products other than fabric?? You don’t need to heat cure it?
Absolutely! This product works on a variety of surfaces, including paper, poster board, wood, and canvas. The inks we use are specifically designed for these materials, as well as for garments. When printing on paper, poster board, wood, and similar surfaces, you can simply let them air dry. For garments, just cure them as usual for the best results.
Thank you! I’ll be getting some soon.
Great video . thank you and keep doing more like this short videos for question and answers about screen printing .
You're welcome! We're always happy to help.
As gorgeous as you I’d love to take you out to dinner n check out your menu sometime before this new year ❤❤

Impressive
It sure is!
Good video thanks
No problem! Glad it could help.
Is that the pwr water resistant stuff
It's the same purple magic you know and love-ready to use, with an impressive shelf life, and as you mentioned, water-resistant!
Can you use the press wash for the pallet too?
Press wash has been used by other screen printers to clean ink and gunk off of their presses. What we recommend for platens is platen tape! Easy to apply and the mess sticks on it, when it gets dirty you just peel it off and toss it away.
i used this emulsion. its not forgiving. it doesn’t washout easily.
Sorry to hear that. What issues did you run into maybe we can help you out.
@@screenprintdirect I worked in complete darkness, except for my red led headlamp, to apply a thin coat each side of my 160 screen. I didnt expose it at all and took it outside at night, again no light except for my headlamp, and hit it with the garden hose spray nozel. Nothing washed out. It was totally unexposed and nothing washed out. Waste of my time and money.
We purchased one and the blade wasn't inserted straight so I struggled to print.
We are really sorry to hear that. The good thing is, is that the blades slid in and out easily so adjusting it shouldn't be too hard to do.
Great video and do more videos like this in future .
We definitely will be!
How did the hose get the image out??? I tried n mine just didnt clear out lol
Great question! This is one of the trickiest parts of the process. Your exposure time is crucial. You need to have your exposure time dialed in to have an easy washout like in the video. If nothing appeared on yours, you may have overexposed it. This means that you had it exposed to the light for too long. We would recommend doing some research on the emulsion you are using. If you are using an Ecotex® emulsion you can look on the container label for some exposure times or go to the product listing on our website which will give you all sorts of information for each emulsion's exposure time with certain types of exposure units.
@screenprintdirect I did a step wedge test and figure the perfect one would wash out but none really did. They kinda just stayed there lol n did follow instructions
Which software do you use for making slides or what u call it stencil 😮 I think?
Thats a good question. The most popular program that screen printers use is Adobe Illustrator. There are some that use a program called Corel Draw as well.
@ thanks
Really 🎉
Great 🎉
🤙
Thanks for recomendation!)
Happy to help!
How do you do this with a 4 color design?
Halftone prints are traditionally just black and white images. If you do want to add color to it, you can. It would just be a matter of making another screen for that color you want to print. Most people tend to use white as the base for the color if they are going to go that route.
Why yes, I usually clean my screen after I'm done with a project. Right after closing 25 tabs.
is that the 50watt UV light off amazon. How high are you setting yours and for how long?
Great question, it's actually a 30watt UV LED. It is our own brand light. All of our emulsions have been tested with this light. Exposure times are going to vary so we can't give you the exact time but for example our PWR emulsion at around 14 inches above the screen will expose in around 30 seconds.
so if 21-10 wash out that means you're above step 7 therefore decrease your time ?
Yes, the key is to try and get to the 7 steps so if you are below 3-5 you want to bring it up as close as possible. Same as if you were over like you mentioned 10-21 you want to bring that down to 7.
Explained nothing
It does give a brief overview of the emulsion. Is there something specifically you are looking to find out ?
What about the AP emulsion? Is that good for everything?
Great question, AP Blue is a good emulsion as well but it's going to be best for Plastisol, UV and Solvent based inks. It can be used with water-based but won't be the best used for that. We would recommend PWR if you are going to be doing more water-based printing.
@@screenprintdirect Thank you so much for the breakdown! 💕
Once the transferred has the powder is heated to a gel, how long is it good? Can I store a bunch and then pull them out when ready to print?
Thats a great question but yes you can store them for later use. One of the things people use transfers for is to print their neck tags in large quantities and when they need to label shirts they will do so whenever. Another is printers that are doing live printing or promotional items in public, they tend to print them in a large quantity and then press them at a later time.
How much is the height of the light screen thank you
You are going to want the light around 14inches above the screen.
How far does the light need to be when burning the screen?
You are going to want the light around 14inches above the screen.
How do you save and print it??
You can save the files just as you would any other file.
hello, how long do you recommend if im exposing my screen with sunlight??
That's a question that's hard to answer. The sun is much different in terms of exposing. Its not a steady light source so timing can vary and will never be 100% the same. We recommend using an exposure calculator if you are going to be using the sun to expose.
What kind of hose nozzle are you using to wash out your stencils?
That's a really good question. When you are just washing out your screen to get your image to appear you don't need anything special. You can use your normal garden hose type nozzle. You want a soft spray nothing hard or intense.
Can you find the link to the screen printing service?
Of course! Here is the link: screenprintdirect.com/pages/pricing-calculator You can also find it if you click the description of the video. Let us know if you have any other questions.
@@screenprintdirectthe link is not clickable. Maybe you can re do it or put it in your bio
Thank you, this is very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
What is a paints using your?
Good question. We are using ecotex water-based inks. These will be your best bet when wanting to print things like posters, cards or cardboard boxes.
@@screenprintdirect Thank you so much!)
Could it work with plastisol?
Good question! Yes, this would work regardless of the ink being used.
this should be viral🎉🎉!!!
We think so too!
So you can’t use a flood light with this emulsion?? Or should I burn it for longer time to make up for the difference
It depends on the specifications of your flood lamp. The important part is that the light gives off the proper wavelength to harden the emulsion. Time wise you would need to experiment with your particular light to get it just right. This link has a little cheat sheet for our emulsions on specific lights we have tested with. shorturl.at/2pfLK
@@screenprintdirect I tried a handful of diffrent burn times and exposures but still can’t get I right I’ve ruined 4 screens so far 😭
