THESE TIRES ARE TOO BIG!! DID I MESS UP TAKING THIS JOB???
Thank you ❤
My tire shop just did a screw repair. I drove off. Looking at it yesterday. 1/3 of the paint is scratched off my black rim! Ahhh how does this happen. Is this ever to be expected? Have they misplaced their tooling? They are new rims on a new car.

Mine are fun ❤
Hello, I have a car with factory black rims. What should be the best balancing method for this type of rims and one that does not cause vibration at high speed?
This was good!
A drop center tool pays for itself the first time you have to use it.
I found pretty much what you did. A narrow taper collet is an improvement from course taper. The finger plates for me did not improve things much more. Finger plate good for expensive rims where you don't want to touch the face of the rim.
I like that double roller setup where one of the rollers follow the tyre. what brand machine is that?
So why are you not showing off the? SAE
Can I ask you how to measure the remaining imbalance value (g.m) after finishing the static balance process?
Do they have a SAE Version of these wrenches
yes 4 piece set and cheaper
Thanks for the review. Just to confirm - Is this made in China? I know there is some fine equipment available from China, but I have been SO BADLY burned that I am to the point where I only buy stuff from China if it doesn't matter if it works. Otherwise, I do without.
What brand is the pin plate?
The finger plate system I have is from Haweka. I have been having great success with them.
@@geardriven1016 I've been looking at Haweka too but couldn't find individual 5 finger plates for a 28mm balancer. Did you get one plate or a whole set?
Ngl I hate the case Not readily available for when it's in a drawer and will get very dirty very quickly
I use toolbox widget. It’s the best organizer for wrenches in my opinion. I never use those cloth organizers.
I think thay should make one of the ends fixed still a flex head but just with same end so you could break the bolt or nut free so as to save the rachet end
I’ve never broken one using it to break loose bolts or nuts. I’m not too worried about it. that also kind of defeats the advantage of a flex head to me though?
Curious if these are made in sae as well? Cant seem to find them if so. Thanks
to my knowledge they don’t make them in SAE. sorry, but I’m sure they will
Yes they do make sae I bought both standard and metric.
Static balance seems to work well on very skinny tires like motorcycles or older car tires that are relatively small compared to today's tires. The wider you get, the more the dynamic imbalance has "leverage" over the wheel. Suspension type can also dampen or enhance dynamic imbalance. Solid axles and non stearing axles seem to not be as sensitive to dynamic imbalance vs independent suspensions and steer axles. And as you said, speed plays a big part as well. Good video by the way. You explained it quite well.
yes, that is pretty much correct. when a wheel is narrow dynamic balancing has less benefit. so for something like a motorcycle wheel will be perfectly fine with a good static balance. the wider a wheel the more a dynamic balance becomes affective and logical. most car and truck wheels are wide enough that a dynamic balance is best.
Nice !
Thanks! thank you for watching my video
I just picked these up. Mine (especially the 8/10) is floppy to the point of being useless. Won’t tighten further. Are yours floppy like that?
no, mine are not floppy at all! contact your rep or snap on and get a replacement! Thanks for watching my video
@@geardriven1016thank you. Dealer ordered another set to warrant it today. For the price I sure wanna love em lol
We're still waiting for your engine mounts replacement video ;) I'm curious how good or bad this engine support bar was.
I completely forgot! I’m really sorry. I ended up doing it a little differently then planned initially by lifting one side at a time to give me more room with each mount. I did it by loosening the opposite side to give some play and then lifting the engine with a jack. the engine would then pivot off that other side and that ends up giving more room given the tunnel gap then just lifting the whole engine. the passenger side was pretty easy but the drivers side was a lot tighter and required more finess to position the new one in the right spot. I know the support bar would work, but given the space it would take up access from the top would be a bit more awkward given I did this on the ground. I found most people use an engine hoist, but after research I would mount the arms on the strut towers to the radiator support frame, where the hood latches are. those are the strongest spots I could determine. I was really pinched for time so I couldn’t video tape the process ( doing it by video would easily double the time it took.). I have used it on BMW’s though and it worked great with no issue. I want to make another bar lift hook for it as some cars need 2 points of support. i could not get it from the manufacturer unfortunately so it has to be hand made. I would also recommend getting a good thrust bearing for the lift hook to make its use easier. I still vouch for its quality 100%. I have complete confidence in it with use. I still believe it’s probably one of the best supports for German cars and cars in general aftermarket wise with the variety in ways you can position it. but no engine support is perfect for everything. if I do another oil pan on a BMW or use it on another car I’ll video it, thank you for reminding me. sorry for this but I will find an opportunity to demonstrate.
@@geardriven1016 Thank you for the update. I appreciate it!
Thank you. I'm thinking about buying one in red, and this video was very helpful.
I’m glad you found this useful. good luck!
Bel video.....x esperienza nel settore tutto deve rientrare nelle tolleranze..... è prima di eseguire un bilanciameno il centraggio sul bilanciatore deve essere la priorità di tutto!! Buon lavoro
I just got a speed plate set and low taper collets and I get the best, most accurate and repeatable results from using them both. I also have traditional cones and a lug centric adapter but nothing compares to using the collet and speed plate together.
agreed 100%
Nice vid. I'd like to see those special clamp pliers in action
I’ll try to do a quick video for you

What is the point of this video. You don’t specify what you select to begin with.
Ive only know about Koken and havd several of their ratchets that I'm most impressed with. Then i found Nepros. These things are like works of art I haven't gotten any yet but I am sure to. The wooden handles screwdrivers such beautiful works of art
How much $$$
it retails for $800, but if you have a dealer and ask I bet he can do better for you.
Somone said they stopped going to the shop I had my tyres changed at because they only do 'static ballancing'. Now I know what that is I think I may see if I get get them looked at to make sure they are properly fitted as I do a lot of motorway driving. Thank you for this great explanation. I have trouble with vibration and very responsive turn on my wheel and I was not sure if it was the tyres or something like the power steering fluid needing changing. I confess I know little about either 😂
I’m happy that you found my video informative. these days unless your running big tires like off-road or mudders all wheels should be dynamically balanced. if they did a static balance only, it’s a very good chance that’s your problem. wish you the best of luck and thanks for watching! @beany87
Thanks for sharing this. I’m shopping for a used balancer and changer. Are you happy with your machines (snapon/corghi)? Any tips on things to look for or avoid? Its for hobby and occasional sidework usage. I have 295/35/21’s at the moment. Thanks!
no problem, my tire machine has been great, but look at the specs on limits of size just in case, but it can handle pretty much any size a table top can do. I’m pretty sure it will do, I’ve done 24” wheels and they were right around that width. if you can get new Corghi has a sale till the end of the year. if your in the North East I have a great dealer. as far as balancer it’s had a few issues but it’s ok, if I can I’ll be buying the Corghi em750(think that’s the model) next and selling the snap on. this combo should work great for you. Corghi is a great brand. don’t get a cheap balancer, I hear of people having issues with them. be sure to get the assist arm for the tire machine. best of luck.
HI, how is your tire machine holding up over the years. Did you have to do any repairs? would you recommend it for someone who does 7 cars a day?
it’s been holding up great. I’ve had to do no repairs to it, I’ve just cleaned it when it gets dirty. I think it should handle 7 cars a day with no issues. just make sure to keep an eye on the oiler for the cylinders, I use compressor oil and it’s been fine. it’s been a great machine. make sure to get the assist arm if you do low profile tires. I can do a regular cars tires with balancing in under an hr on the ground. with a lift faster. for the price it’s hard to beat. there’s a new duck head on them now that is better, I’ve upgraded to it. feel free to ask any other questions.
thank you for the response. What's the new duck head? I'm torn between choosing this unit or a cemb sm825evo or the m&B 325ti@@geardriven1016
Lost interest in the review when this dude needed a razor blade to open the plastic wrap. Lol! Man the eff up guy.
These are really great looking. I like the 12 point design over the spline drive that all of the other ones are. The flush reversible switch is also very nice as I also accidentally reverse my icons. One thing I did notice though is you said you have to bring the entire set back to swap it out. I’ve seen that floating around online but that’s not the policy and I’ve never had an issue with it. I’ve warrantied 2 of my long spline drive box ends and I was in and out in 5minutes with no receipt. They swapped it out of another set with no questions asked. I do hope they start making this set in foam or a hard tray. I may pick them up if they ever have a sale! Thanks for the review!
thanks for watching. that’s what I was told so my bad if I’m wrong. I’m still hearing of people having issues with warranty because of availability though, it might be regional I don’t know. these are not cheap, but I never will need a different set. fyi, my dealer said in the future they will change them to 100 tooth like their new ratchets! but that’ll be a while.
Some nice looking wrenches congrats
thank you.
$605 if anyone is wondering
800$ actually
Not on ebay, maybe on the truck. Thats why they are so willing to finance you. They way over mark items. @@yaamothaa
There’s two different sets. The new ones are 800
So to answer your question are they worth it? probably not, but you are going to convince your self that it is because thats what humans do.
They are definitely worth it. The pain of quality only hurts when you buy them. The pain from buying cheap hurts every time you pick them up.
Clearly you have never owned/used Snap On tools. I use tools all day. Every day. There is a difference.
They should've included a 21-22mm wrench and made them with one side fixed and non-ratcheting. The bevel on the stick out looks shallow and thin, which is a good thing. . Did your rep give you a discount? Can't wait for the six month review. Thanks
yes, I agree, I wish they did offer a 21-22mm ratcheting wrench. snap on offers a high performance ratcheting wrench but like these only goes to 19, oh well. my rep did give me a decent discount, not great but it was something. I’ve used the 19mm a few times so far and really like it!
@@geardriven1016 Were these about $800?
Dang, I never thought about using one of those. Thanks for the tip.
glad you found this useful! best of luck!

Okay?
the only thing is snap on is the most likely tool company to have parts to repair a tool… the irony just builds

@@joedirt1712me to Joe 🔧🔧🔧🔧🔧
Thanks for the video, Just curious as why you scooped it? 3:14
Too be honest I don't remember, there was probably a reason but I think it was just copying how tire levers have a small scoop to them. If you don't want to go through the hassle of making that tool look at motorcycle tire levers, I found them after I made it and all you would have to do is bend them, they should do the same thing! Best of luck!
@@geardriven1016 Thanks, I appreciate it

I had never heard of VIM until the past week through some Sema stuff and honestly it looks like they have some awesome stuff!
VIM is top notch! and makers of very useful tools for German cars. highly, highly recommend them! I love their tools and have quite a few of them.
I can see engine light is ON on your car too and thats my problem.
Sorry to hear that! the car has the ignition on accessory so dash lights will illuminate. This car didn't have a CEL when doing the video.
Excellent presentation. I have the Tone ratchet in a shopping cart but haven’t pulled the trigger just yet.
Thank you! the Tone ratchet is nice, and very good value, that is the only ratchet of their I own but I do like it. I have an upcoming video you may like if you liked this one!
Great video 👍
Thank you!
I have the same koken sockets, missing alot of important sizes...a bit disappointing for what you pay for them..
True, it does skip a few sizes which is a bit disappointing. I find pretty much all the Japanese sets I've bought skipped sizes which can be quite annoying. I might be wrong but I think you can individually add the missing sizes except 9mm. This isn't a set I plan to use as a primary but as an auxiliary set where applicable to hopefully reduce the chance of loosing parts..
Like the vim tools
VIM makes excellent tools! If you haven't you should give them a try!
