Some footage from FRO. Hadn't rode in 2 months, felt great to get back out there. One of my favorite sections that flows pretty well and not too technical.
FRO St Kierns 1/2/2020 and Fender Bender

First ride of 2020 at FRO. Met up with two guys I never met before and had a good time despite some crashes. Just after the crash at the end of this vid, I damn near broke my toe on a tree. Made out with just some bruising thanks to my Sidi’s. Good day on some of my favorite trail with good guys.
Vortex Razor AMG, PST Gen 1 and Nikon FX1000 turret comparison

First time I’ve had this many scopes at once, didn’t see a lot of turret comparisons between these three so figured what the heck. Missing from the video is a Burris XTR II that I own which I’m also very happy with. I’ve since sold everything but the AMG and the XTR II. The AMG is amazing, very very happy with it. The Nikon was also very impressive in its price range. I will probably be getting...
mình rất muốn mua lại khẩu súng này của bạn,bạn có thể bán cho tôi không vậy
Outstanding video. I just tried it and it worked flawlessly. Ty very much!!!
A new way that looks easier to assemble.
Lots of history…. Get to work
I have her..she has a 1 in 12 twist - different than most. 55 gr is your best bet for factory ammo. it will shoot WAY better with reloads to match the gun. 52 gr match king w/38 grains H380 powder, magnum primer drives tacks. 50 grain TNT w/36.5 grains varget is best for lighter bullet..
Dude … you should have dropped your magazine and pulled back the slide before you even started your video . Very dangerous
If the safety nazi in you really needs to know, I did exactly that and I have always done that before I handle a firearm especially inside the home. I then locked it back with the mag in so that I could show the empty chamber for the video. This video is 10 years old and has 94,000 reviews and hundreds of comments, yet your the first asshole to even try to tell me I’m being unsafe. Congratulations, you get the asshole award. There is absolutely nothing unsafe about this video. Try again.
Best video on this subject. I got to this video every time! Thank you!
Stumbled across your video recently. I have struggled with reassembly of my MK III 22/5 for 6 years. Tried this immediately. Worked perfectly. Thanks.
It's a key for the internal safety. If you watch the ruger mark 111 video from ruger, about 50 seconds into the video it shows it.
Do you need the safety key to disassemble the mark3?
There is no safety key that I am aware of.
I cannot fit the main spring housing into the dowel for the life of me and I am about to sell my gun, I followed all the steps is there anything else you would suggest
Great video, the only thing I would add is instead of using a screwdriver to open the lever and take a chance of scratching up your gun I use an empty .22 case or a paper clip slipped over it and pull out. On a new gun I (very carefully) used a dead blow hammer. Like he said after taken apart a few times you probably won’t need it. It’s like pouring piss out of a boot. It ain’t that hard, just turn it upside down. The directions is on the heel. This video did make the task a whole lot easier. GOD BLESS!!!!! SHOOT SAFE!!!!!
These videos would be better if there was no talking. Thanks for the info. Just fired 5k rounds through a can and now it malfunctions every shot. This was a big help thanks
...great shooting from a very accurate rifle. Looking at one in .223 for F/TR class comps...
My Ruger is from the early 1970s. I called it my shoe string disassembly. I just looped a string around the lever to pull it out, not your screw driver pry out. I still have it today.
The "dingus" is the hammer strutt, and I have had lots of trouble with it and didn't know that the mk111 could be put together this way but the next time I clean my pistol, I'm going to give this method a try.
I have a 11vss... i can do this or better with way shitty glass.. haven't shot it in 5 years.. but when i put it away all 3 were touching or on top of each other every time.. its really that good. My model was top of the line for savage.. maybe the most accurate riffle in 22.250 period.. the barell trigger action and stock are all supurb if weight isn't an issue.. mine is probably one of the heaviest in this caliber ever.. but if u want 1 hole at 100 shes basically a lazer that weighs 12 lbs.. no regrets. Its fantastic
This has to be the best and simplest way to re-assemble the Mark III. Thank you very much for making this video, and spending 20min to figure out the simplest way. My Mark III is 8yrs old and still a little tight because I rarely shoot it. I can count with 3 fingers how many times I shot this firearm🙃only because of the re-assembly being such a PITA, if fact I almost sold it because of that, but decided to keep it. Now I'm so glad I did thanks to your video! Very, Very Good Job on this Video Asha E. 👍👍👍
Interesting. Your method of assembly is a little different then what I do. I have never seen it done ur way but I like it. Completely different but seems to work better with much less hassle.
Volume is too low. Hard to hear you
Had my Mark III Hunter for several years. Still get frustrated with re-assembly. Issue is always the hammer. It does not move smoothly, Your video is my go to. You provide an alternate technique that is very helpful. Still my favorite pistol. It shoots so well that I’ll keep it. I did however, buy my daughter the Mark IV. Thanks for the video.
if your going to make video ----do it right -----no excuses--- why even make video ?
Thank you for the great info.
Great job. Best way to do it hands down. Good job bro!
This is the smartest breakdown of the Ruger Mark III that I have seen BRILLIANT. Thank you so much for a great explanation. Certainly worthy of this fine gun. This dispells the other attemps at explaining this really simple process. Only 4 steps to field strip this gun and in Less than 30 seconds. Take it down with time to spare and NO tools other than maybe a paper clip. 60 seconds to put it back together and no paper clip😏 Thanks Great Job Ruger are you watching?
On a side note I have bought 2 other rifles both Rugers the first is the Predator series in 308. Cal with 155 hollow points Private Partisan Ammo from Serbeira 3/4 in groups. % Deer so far with that rifle all broadside shots that drop the animal in its tracks.. Very happy with it. The other is 270 WIN American standard. The first 3 shots at 100 yards had a 3 leaf clover pattern with 150-grain Remeninton Corelokt ammo. I have not hunted with it yet too happy with the 308. Nice video by the way!
Dude done good 👍 Watched a couple of videos before this...not helpful Had it together before this vid. Ended!
Thanks for the compliment! Much appreciated. Hard to believe I’m still getting comments on this vid so many years later. Glad it helped you out man 👍🏻🤘🏻
Wow great explanation
Nice! Haven't seen this part before? Happen to know where it is?
Of course I know where it is lol but you’ll have to do some exploring and find it. I’m not going to give any trail locations on here for all the world to see. Find me on FB or Insta and send me a message if you want more details.

ASAh thank you so much for the method to get my gun assembled. It worked and I Appreciate you posting this process..
🤣🤣🤣🔫
Nice. Thank you
"A DIngus"....Always wondered what that thing hanging down there was called.
I can't believe this video has ANY thumbs down. This makes assembly incredibly simple. I spent 2 decades having to step through the dozen steps in the Ruger manual to reassemble my Mark 2. After watching this video, I can do so from memory in about 5 seconds. Thank you!!!!!!
Thanks very much! Glad I could help you! I almost forgot this vid existed. I can’t believe how many views it has now!
Those are communist tears. Let them be upset!
A MILLION THANK YOUS FROM THE YEAR 2021!!! ✨🙏🏽✨
I've seen the other video Asah was talking about and ...it IS A PAIN. Asah, you made this dead simple...THANK YOU!!!!!! Sadly, there is always a sadly, I've got just enough of a mismatch in my bolt/frame pin holes to make it a major swear word event, blunt instruments are quite often required.
That first mile or so doesn't drain well, so in the Spring, its always muddy. When I was out two weeks ago, the mud was wicked slick.
More great single-track. I recognized the first part. At least up and over the ridge. But the down hill portion was new, at least to my eyes. Do you wear a neck brace like a Leatt?
Pat Farrell negative on the neck brace. I probably should but not sure I’d be comfortable.
@@BoogiemanMoto I find my Leatt to be very comfortable most of the time. On really hot days, it cuts down on air flow. I asked because mine clunks against my helmet and my GoPro picks up the sound and I thought I heard it (or something like it) on some of your videos.
Pat Farrell yeah I noticed that clunking sound too. Not sure what it is. It might be my hydration hose bouncing off the pro shot mount.
Another great one. Lots of rock gardens in this one.
Another great video of a great trail that I need to learn
Great video, neat trails. I ride FRO all the time and don't recognize any of these trails. Can you give me a hint or two where you were riding?
Pat Farrell started at Lower Darkwater, made our way west across the valley. This trail is in St Kierns area.
Cut the crap, there is no easy way!
Asah, I have watched all the videos and how to reassemble this gun and have found yours to be the easiest of all. There are many ways to do this, but yours works the best for me. I saved it to watch every time I reassemble mine. Thanks for taking the time to record this for us who don't shoot the same gun all the time and need a refresher some times.
I agree! Yours is the best Ruger MKIII video. Thank you very much!
I was ready to pay a gunsmith to save my wife's MK3 until I saw this video. I went through hours of frustration and 3 instructional videos, with no luck. That was including the Ruger dude and the 16 second dude. Your hammer up and hanging dingus steps saved the day. You are awesome!
Dave Neff Thats excellent, thanks for the kind words. Glad the video saved the day for you.
pretty good conditions for January
Pat Farrell Agreed, although it’s a little deceiving. There was tons of ice on the haul rds and some of the two track trails.
Excellent, Thank You!!!!
Thanks for the vid. This has been the only time I did not have to struggle getting it back together.
All seem to have nice turrets. You can tell the AMG turrets are on another level and should be at the price point. I dig the Nikons turrets but would be nice if they were a little more audible. Im a big fan of my Leupold M5 turrets they are waaay better than my old Athlon Cronus BTR turrets. Nice vid man!
Thanks man. Yeah my buddy had a Leupold Mark 5 for a bit, definitely liked the turrets on that minus the capped windage. The AMG is definitely in an entirely different world than the other two in the vid, without a doubt. Glad you dug the vid and the comparison. Sorry took so long to respond, somehow completely missed your comment.
I bought this same rifle and caliber 2 years ago and it truly is a tack driver. I use Prvi Partizan Rifle, 22-250, 55 Grain, Soft Point PP22250 ammo and have similar result as the guy who posted this video Fun Fun Fun at 200 yards at the rifle range in Holbrook Mass!
Asah, Goodman, dissambled and reblued my Mark III, was ready to use it as a gooes decoy achor. Watched numerous re-assemble video's with limied success. Came across yours, and it was the ticket to get that pistol back together. Turning the pistol up as your described and compress the spring was the ticket. Thank You Much...
