I was that kid who played this as the minute solo piece for all state auditions at Atlantic! It was an absolute honor to get to play in front of you. I really look up to your playing and hope to be able to play this piece as beautifully as you do, you've seriously mastered the instrument in my eyes. Thanks for being such an inspiration to young players like me!

I played this as an undergraduate in about 1992. Really stretched me musically. It really stretched my accompanist, too-- that piano reduction from the full band score was written for somebody with three arms and 7 fingers on each hand.

This has just become part one of a three part audition for my colleges concert band. I have two weeks to prepare. Update: I made second chair top band of three bands out of five other euphoniums.

So many notes and amazing technical playing but with so much going on does anyone in the audience notice how much work you are doing? It's kind of hard to hear all the dizzying stuff going on in the middle and it should be heard more for all the stuff you're doing! Yeesh. EDIT: On further listening to this it's like the score of the piece is drowning you all out with the trumpets and the percussion. Totally not fair ;)
