The Buffalo Overlander

This channel follows the adventures of Kevin and Donna, a South African couple, who have had numerous overlanding adventures, the biggest being driving their Landrover Defender through Africa, Asia and Europe, from Dundee in South Africa (Kevin’s place of birth), to Dundee in Scotland (Donna’s place of birth).
They have written a fantastic and exciting book, which is a great adventure read and has received incredible reviews, called “DUNDEE 2 DUNDEE”, and they have now built their Overlander truck, “THE BUFFALO”, with which they continue their adventures in Africa, Europe and the Americas.

In this episode, Kevin and his brother Derek go on a ‘Boys Roadtrip’, down the Garden Route and up Route 62, visiting places like ‘Ronnies Sex Shop’ and other great stopovers

We just decided to go this route and wanted to get to camp …. Maybe next time

Hi thank you for the really nice pictures! I have one question: What is the hight of your expedition vehicle? I could by an IVECO that is 3,60m high … do you think it is to high for a trip like yours? Why I ask you: You can read so many things in the internet, from people, that never have been there … but they think they know best! You have real live experience!! Hi Andreas…. So, when we built our truck, we did go big, but we also had to be wary of size and weight etc. Our rig is 8m long and 3,3 m high (including railing and aircon on roof). We have come across other trucks that are higher, and we have also seen how they battle to get to certain places . I would say that 3.6 m is a bit on the high side, but if you do get that rig just be aware of the restrictions. Feel free to send us details of the rig and we will give our opinion and advice with pleasure . 👏👏. Thanks for the follow

@@AntonVisser-vz8uf aah ok, we added an extra roof Fiamma fan, and just had a general check over and tightening up of pipes and fittings etc. Also added 2 vents to the outside fridge cabinet and replaced one of the outside storage locks that we broke 👏

Do you do all your bookings beforehand or book on the go?
We actually don’t most of the time because we never really know exactly where we will end up . But some places in busy times like Kruger, Kgalagadi etc we do book in advance
