That's smart thinking, you want an old shit box when you start learning to drive. Get something made from metal 😂 something that sits higher than the average car. Stay away from Toyota because everyone swears they are good cars but the fact is they started having major effects with their engines after 2004. Aluminum blocks that cause the cylinder head bolts to walk the threads out due to vibrations over the years. I'd suggest a Ford, Chevy, Honda, or Nissan, I don't suggest Dodge because well if you're not buying a Cummins or a hellcat then you really shouldn't waste your time any further. All Dodge vehicles have the worst gas mileage. If you start with the average cost for common repairs for vehicles you're looking to buy, that would be the best way to go about it. 4-cylinders will usually cost you the least during repairs and obviously less money on fuel. 6cylinders are money pits and have to be babied to keep em from falling apart after 100k miles. And V8's suck on fuel but usually don't ever need anything but oil, tires and gas. You'll do one spark plug set, one fuel pump, one alternator, one water pump and radiator, one set of eight coil packs one set of ball joints upper and lower one set of shock struts, one transmission filter and fluid flush at 100k miles and that V8 truck will still be running when your kids get out of School 😂😂😂

F87! Especially if you can track down a CS. That car is special. If you asked G87, that'd be a harder choice. After my G87 M2 track comparison, I thought really hard about tracking down an M2 CS as I think it's the ideal successor to my E46 M3.

Anything other than the descriptive naming of the year of production makes absolutely no sense (to me). When you are born, you are only one year old after a year has passed.
