3 Different Ways To Install Shelves, Traditional To Modern
Welcome back to Adi's Little Shedshop, in todays video, Mrs Shedshop and I had to pop to my mums to install some new shelves on her "bare" wall, because apparently she needs more ruddy shelves,(seriously the whole room is floor to ceiling shelves). So I started by putting up the first shelf in the traditional way with the good old spirit level and drawing a line on the wall, then I found out we were drilling into BREEZE BLOCK. AAAAAAARRRRRGGGHHH, its almost as bad as Fly Ash or Coal Ash bricks, anyway we move onto the second shelf and we are putting it on the wall by measuring from a fixed position the drop and multiple points this works when you don't have a spirit level to hand. Thirdly...

    Hi I bought the 1800mm to try. It was well made maybe a little lightweight but acceptable. It was very straight but not accurate. The horizontal was close but the vertical way out. Thanks for the video. 👍

    Having a 45 degree vital on levels is more of a nuisance than helpful. In nearly 50 years on building sites, I never needed one once, it was always horizontal or vertical that was needed. A 90 degree vital on both ends is much better.

    Good bit of kit, especially if a mate wants you to pop round and set bike up. I used to work for Falcon/Claud Butler and did 200 odd bikes a day, obviously their stands were industrial and not as flexy but these for the money are stable and up to the job. This you can chuck in car boot, on your drive whatever and it's fine. Currently turning an old Raleigh Banana into a fixie but been working on my mates vintage Kona MTB no problems with tube width at all.

    I have two suggestions. 1. Always start and finish AT THE VALVE. This way the tire bead can drop all the way into the center channel of the rim as you are lifting the opposite side over the edge of the rim for the initial or final lift. This is especially necessary for tubeless tires/rims. 2. Stand up! Hold your arm straight! Push down with your body weight on the palm of your hand! Use this method for the initial few inches when removing or the final few inches when installing. This is the way that the inventor of the Tyre Glider says to use it. But it seems like good advice for the Tyre Monkey as well.

  • @dperreno
    @dperreno 13 дней назад

    Tyre Glider - if the tire is tight, you are supposed to stand over the tire, extend your arm straight, and use your body weight to push with your palm. And putting some dish soap (washing up liquid for you Brits) on the bead would probably help as well.

  • @nicholasbaptiste8208
    @nicholasbaptiste8208 15 дней назад

    You are not supposed to take off both beads at once with the Glider.

      Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I have to say I am surprised at the inner tubes being sliced I can honestly say I have never had it happen, all I could recommend would be a bit of air in the tube before you put the tyre back on and make sure you have pushed it back inside the tyre. Good luck with that and keep watching for more videos soon

    You know when someone knows what they're talking about on the subject of tyres, when they have the writing on the tyre near the valve ( to help find the valve, and relate the position of the hole in the inner tube to the prick in the tyre) and pushed the valve to make sure the bead is below the inner tube

    for taking off i think i find usual tyre leavers easier but putting on tight tyres there is nothing like the glider makes it so easy. Money still works as well but it's not quite so nice on the hands to push as the wider contact point on the glider

      Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I have definitely had trouble with them both before on mountain bike tyres as it goes but I've managed to get the tyre glider to work more consistently. This actually was the first time I've managed to get a tyre off and on with the tyre monkey properly, other than that it has always failed. It is a real shame to hear you've had that much trouble with the "Glider", I really enjoy using it, even on those tyres that don't want to budge, keep watching for more videos weekly. Thankyou for watching and your comments.

      I've always had success with the tyre glider. As the video says, you have to "break the bead" by pushing the sidewalls towards the well, and then it works fine. It's absolutely great for refitting! All my bikes have 26" wheels.

      Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, it is a real shame there are a few flaws and some that are almost worth sending it back for, the depth stop mainly. My problem is it's still a really good saw for the price and I'm sure I can work out a better way of using the depth stop for trench cutting. Unfortunately Rutlands have a really nice cordless version coming out soon and it has a much better trench cutting facility. I would've bought that if I had have known. Thankyou and keep watching

I have to say tho there are definitely some tyres and more so rims that are not equipped for use with them, which is a shame. Back in the 90's I don't think I can remember a single tyre that I ever had as much trouble with as the amount that are around today.

Not here in Essex I can tell you, oh no, if it needs changing here it's probably a pothole that you didn't see because it was full of rain water. Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I hope you have managed to get a successful use from the tyre glider, I think it really is the best thing since the tyre lever, especially if you have dexterity issues, the learning curve can be a frustrating one tho. Good luck and keep watching

    I extended the base of our old shed with some more 2x2 slabs, wouldn't recommend using pallets! I let the Mrs put the window in.....easiest bit! Yes last two roof panels were a pain, used a flat prybar. Top tip, don't assemble in cold weather as the plastic will be brittle.

      Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, we were going to use slabs but it was possibly only going to be a semi permanent placement as the Mrs is already thinking of knocking down the old wooden shed and getting one of the better Keter ones so it'll probably all have to move for some concrete to go down. It does have some 50cm Rebar stakes that have been added since the video tho which is handy. That's a top tip and never even thought about the cold, I bet it would just shatter with a little love TSP from the mallet.

    I'm not a contractor or even play one on TV, but I do know if these aren't put on very level ground, it is a bitch to line up drill holes, roof or door. Need to be anchored down or it will be the property of the little old widow who lives a block away.

      Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I totally agree with that statement these are extremely hard to put up on uneven ground we helped with one before we got ours and learned that lesson there which was quite handy because normally I would just eye it and say that'll do, this time took ages levelling the floor out and screwed the flooring to the pallets. Since filming we put 50cm Rebar stakes in to make sure it doesn't end up in our neighbors. Thankyou and keep watching

    The screw might be a reverse thread so double check in the manual

    • @adislittleshedshop
      @adislittleshedshop 2 месяца назад

      Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I think the blade arbour is going to be a reverse thread, unfortunately there is a screw to undo before getting to it which I haven't re-attempted yet and the manual is ok but doesn't have the most detailed pictures or instructions in, shame really because it is a really good saw

    Would it not depend if your left handed or right handed.. think it should go other side unless mother is left handed ;) Also if horizontal your mother can rest on it with her lower arm when gripping.

      @adislittleshedshop 2 месяца назад

      Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, usually you would be absolutely correct, unfortunately she only has use of her left hand for the time being but as soon as she is able to use her right side it will definitely be getting second one put in so there's a choice then. I think what I should have done is put a second one in horizontal for her to rest on too. Thankyou for watching, I might just do that

    Can you put the window on the other side? Are the sidewall panels interchangeable

    • @adislittleshedshop
      @adislittleshedshop 3 месяца назад

      Hi thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I'm pretty sure you can put the window in any one of the 4 corners of the shed as the panels are interchangeable. If you are thinking of getting one definitely read through the manual first but I reckon you can definitely pop it in each corner as long as there isn't a brace in the way.

      Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I'm so glad someone else has heard of Rutlands, it's like a little best kept secret company. I know they source they're tools and pop their name on them with a little tweak here and there but........I love them. What's the bandsaw like? I've often wondered and then been told No! Another thought has just come to me, free wood ? If you can find anyone who's breaking caravans, the boards underneath the cushions I think are marine grade ply ?? Would that work ?? For you. Cheers Les.

    Use the sides, top and panels, work it down to a smaller size ! Re-size the draws to fit, smaller as a storage unit, for bits and pieces and odds and sods.

    The most laughable video comparison I've ever seen, sometimes its better to use a little bit of brain cell rather than using brute force. This is a BIG LMAO.

      Thankyou for watching Adi's Little Shedshop, I will take that on board, I do try to make them fun tho, otherwise they can get a bit boring, this truly was a struggle tho and it comes down to wrong rim type. Thankyou tho and keep watching
