what brand had more solid base the rock n roller all terrain or the gator all terrain ? which come with better stock wheels?
Good question. Strictly speaking of wheels, the gator cart is more robust but it is much heavier. Overall, we recommend the RockNroller R12 for all around performance with our product, the looks, size, and weight. In conclusion, both carts are designed very well. It’s basically choosing Pepsi or Coke. I hope this helps!
whats the limit of the c-stands we can stack on it?
Hi Nick, you can fit 3 c-stands on the hooks. I'm sure you could add more if you extended and stacked creatively. Hope this helps!
Can the two shelf pieces fit side by side on the bottom level of the R12 cart? I need to use the R12 fully extended for load-in, and would like to put shelves under gear when loading in. Once I'm on set, I'd set travel cases aside and shorten the R12 to fit the shelves. Can this be done?

Is it possible to buy just the top unit? The two shelves are more expensive than what I paid for my R12 Stealth!

I used some red loctite to install the small set screws. It wasn't mentioned here but I feel like I now don't have to worry about them falling out.
The 1/4x20 bolts for the handles may be under a lot of strain when moving a lot of weight. Seems like 3/8" would have been a better choice.

Is there anything that holds the bottom shelf securely in place. It looks like it could be easily knocked out of place by someone's foot.
Hey David. The bottom shelf is held from rubber grip on the edges. Surprisingly is doesn’t move with normal use. We did R&D some rubber feet and latches, but they seemed to more of a hassle for users than they were worth. You can also DIY some Velcro straps or something if you wish. I hope this helps!
@@lavacart Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if it would slide around, or be accidentally knocked out of position prior to loading with gear. I have the RnR Steath12 model, and always load it up fully extended (multiple lights, camera, lenses, audio gear, etc.). I would love to have a cart on set after gear is loaded in, but my SUV gets quite packed, so I'm debating if hauling this LaVa system will just be too much extra to pack and haul.

Do you find the hard surface covering to be an issue vs a carpeted surface to prevent scratching equipment? What about size..too small? (obviously the cart will expand to a much greater length.

Do these shelves only work in the short mode of the cart?
Hey Peter, yep this system is designed to mount on most carts in their standard retracted length (About 30") Unless your are using an R8 or smaller cart. In that case you would extend your cart to fit the bottom shelf, then the top deck would mount at the correct span. I hope this helps.
