i have a theory that venoms "power" is simply to expand himself, attach, and trap things within his grasp. If you watch knull you can see his hands are wrapped around with black goo with the sword intact and his whole surroundings looks like venoms web tentacles being attached from top to bottom. And the reason why i believe venom the black symbiote is at the bottom of other colorful symbiotes is because hes merely seen as a tool of knulls prison, do you remember the part where all the symbiotes came together and formed into a ball to roll out i also have a theory that all the colorful symbiotes were only able to beat knull and his xenophage who were literally "unkillable" was to combine together and stick all the xenophage and knull trapping him in the planet symbiote and what happens when you combine all unique colors into one you get BLACK which then became a common symbiote and most likely did not have any unique properties just like any colorful symbiote thats why theyre seen as weak and so black became so common that the colorful became rare to encounter that they formed ranks between each other and color decides who is the strongest
