Just curious.. How’d it go? I just wrapped the roof rails on my q5 this weekend using 6 inch wide wrap. It was a kinda difficult process trying to tuck the outside part into the grooves but it all worked out

@@Fexyy I haven't found the time for the roof rails yet, been working on springs and exhaust, but Im about to order some 6in wide tape and going to give it a shot also... I did the door handles and have wrapped the front grill before I got an rs style one, so im hoping ill be able to handle it just fine

I keep a hairdryer next to me so once its on there the heat helps to tuck the film under the rails and such, but it'll also make it much stickier so got to be a little cautious

@@LavaGreyQ5Nice, I hope it works out. I haven’t gotten to wrapping my grill yet but I plan on doing it this week. How difficult was it for you? Did you take off the grill completely?

@@Fexyy Grill wasn't too hard, it just took me a bit to figure Out how to make the seam not too noticeable for wrapping the chrome that goes around the grill, just took a bit of patience.. Honestly it took the same amount of time as it did to install the rs grill.

Hey man. I used a Big piece of vinyl.

No doubt!!! It took me a few weeks to finish it but it was well worth it. Next car will need to come blacked out from the factory lol.

I was thinking the same thing. A wrap shop told me that they would not wrap the ridge part and would cut it so you cant see any chrome from the outside. You would still see chrome when you open the door tho

How did you wrap the chrome pieces on the back glass? The seals are extremely tight.

It's been about 10 months since I did this and still looking good. No bubbles whatsoever (fingers crossed)

I placed a big piece of vinyl on top and cut it the same shape as the back glass chrome. I used the knifeless tape to make the cut around the inside of the corner and then just lifted the rubber with the squeegee and tucked the vinyl in.@@Twayne8127

hey man just seeing this comment. Yes, I laid a big piece of vinyl on top and trim to cover the surrounding chrome of the grill. Then for the vertical lines on the inside of the grill I cut small individual pieces and used a very fine squeegee to tuck them into the sides. Still looks good after almost a year... the horizontal lines were already black. The logo was purchased on ebay.

Shane Nicholson just seeing this, sorry. To do that corner I didn’t use the vinyl tape. I placed a big piece of vinyl on top and cut it the same shape as the bottom part and corner. No issues. I was using Apple leather case.
