One of my favourite descents in the UK. Fastest time down it according to Strava, for sure room to knock a few seconds off it though. Be careful if you’re trying, cars are sketchy, so are the cat eyes.

Haha, I didn’t cut him up, he rode into me! Even admitted it himself
Look at the hoarding, he comes out about a foot as Alec was passing. The camera angle can make it hard to tell with the fish eye effect.

What ratio do you use?
Yes I use BananaWax Drag & Friction Reduction Professional TdF Racing Chain Wax on every bike I have.

Amazing video and commentary! I discovered your channel back in Dec 23' (by far the best series I've watched to date). Watching your previous videos and listening to your perspective on strategy and tactics has been extremely helpful to me especially during a race last weekend. What mount do you use for your insta360 or what would you recommend for the bike?
Usually I just use the mount under my wahoo computer. But for this and cross I just stick a sticking pad onto my stem! Simple as that
How does the camera rotate seeing your face and the road?

@@ricodave not really, as I race a lot of crits where I have to accelerate a lot I was already well suited to a race like this
@@alecpedalerbriggs9876 that is ideal isn't it, love these videos Alec, thanks for saving the footage. I'm used to elbows on a football pitch but that looks like a different level. You must have to put a lot of faith in the other riders.

this was good to watch as its my first time competing in my first fixed gear crit race tom!
ok... so far what I learned is 1. get a good start 2. get in around 5th, 6th in the race 3. race will slow down, so hold your DAMN place 4. sprint like maniac at the end of the race am I right?
