I'm surprised no one is mentioning how at the very beginning of the documentary Saville started rambling about brain damage. Come on, the only reason Savile was the subject of the show is because everyone at the BBC had known he was a nonce for decades. He was too soft on Savile, he could easily have made him snap and maybe he did but the BBC wouldnt air it as they were complicit in his decades long reign of perversion. In the docu Theroux had to approach Saville tentatively because at first they got off on the wrong foot with Saville making threats to sue. They knew if they pushed too far to soon then he would have ended it. The closest they got to reveal the man behind the mask was the late night chat when Saville revealed his no tolerance policy when he took some lad into the basement of his club to rough up. Now that could be just bravado or truth but either way it revealed a darker side he kept guarded from the public. It wasn't until the end of filming driving back from Scotland did Theroux dare question Saville about the rumours. Which of course he would never have admitted were true. Im surprised after that docu aired his victims didn't come forward. If proven true in the courts then his final years would have seen him locked up. On the follow up docu after he died it showed Theroux kept in contact & on occasions visited Saville in Leeds & he came to Theroux's home. Not something you would do if you believed him to be a sexual predator. They even captured Saville on camera cornering a mum & her young daughter putting his arms around them both at an Italian restaurant he frequents in Roundhay Park. Still at the time this didn't arouse suspicion.
