Dance Dance Revolution home play using an Ltek dance pad and Stepmania5. I have been playing now for almost 3 years. Just posting some progress ^_^

I started playing DDR when i was around 14-16 during the supernova PS2 days. That was also the last time (2006) i played. fast forward to march 2018 and seeing it in DnB i decided to buy this DDRGAME soft pad. As a kid i never once beat a "10 footer" so this was major for me- and the start of my DDR journey.
Is your l-tek penny modded by any chance?

man it's so hard to find a video of someone good playing on these pads. the videos i've watched make the pads look kind of "flimsy", like they have some give to them when you step on them, and i'm looking for the "solid" feel of an itg dedicab. looks like you put together your own base for the pad? does that help with the pad feeling more solid/stable? i figured that no matter what, i am going to have to build a more solid base for the pad and construct my own bar or come up with my own bar solution.
Thanks! The base is a very old DDRGAME Energy metal dance pad, I took the bar and got it professionally welded and covered the pad with a rug/runner place mat to keep it from sliding around. This has worked for me since I purchased the Ltek pad in 2020. I didn't buy the Ltek bar simply because it's over priced, I can't speak to how durable it would be. Since purchasing my Ltek though the company has come out with several better versions of my pad for the same price, so if you can figure out a bar setup for yourself, I would definitely recommend the pad. I play using stepmania software.
I don't know about older pads, but the pad I got last year is both sensitive and well able for high level play. Someone 100%ed ITG Matt Silver on this pad, it's easily the best you can get outside of more serious rigs.

@@Crimson0010 sadly old retired DDR player here but I have been looking into playing again it’s been ages since I last played but even tho I’m way outta shape I was still able to do the heavy songs recently like I did back in the day just not as good and was breathing heavy so maybe playing this will get me back into shape 😆
great video. did you put something underneath the pad? Just like other users have commented, I also live in 3rd floor and I'm a bit worried about the noise.
In short, there's no way to play DDR quietly. I live in a basement, so can make as much noise as I please. The thing under my pad is an older pad that has a better handle bar.

Hi^^ Can you tell me if this dance pad makes a lot of noises? I live on the 4th floor and I'm concerned that my downstair neighbours will be mad at me for being noisy if I get this dance pad (I'm just playing normal, no hardcore modes.)
Yes it does, you can try to play in socks/barefoot and get a dampening rug to put underneath it but truthfully this pad is best played with shoes in my opinion. I used to play barefoot but i felt like there wasn't enough force or surface area being hit for the pad to register correctly so i saw more misses.
