$5 vs $50 Chess Coach
Ever thought about shaking up your chess game with a coach? In this video, I'm dive into the world of Fiverr chess coaches with radically different price tags: one at $5 and the other at $50. Hold onto your pawns, because we've got "am_quality," a new coach with a rating of 2000, squaring off against the legendary "Katopipia." With a colossal 243 5-star reviews, a seat on the Georgian National Chess team, and a spotlight in The Washington Post, Katopipia means business. I hired both coaches for a one-hour session to analyze one of my OTB games. Will these coaches' expertise really match the gap in their fees? Let's find out!

years ago, i spend 10 bucks for an 1 hour lesson. As an 1600+ player, it was really a wasted time. He just said analyze ur games and showed on of his games. never ever again i take a low price trainer.
I'm 12 and started a year ago swell and I'm rated 2478 on rapid and 2582 on blitz and we don't talk about bullet... but I loved this video and really made me consider other strategies!
As someone who teaches chess full-time, and has 2500+ Rapid (2400 Blitz) on Lichess, this is great stuff! Gratz on your improvement man :-) Great analysis of the road there!
Dude come back already
I'm at ELO 350 lmao I absolutely suck ass but suddenly started to love the game for some weird reason, and now I can't stop and I wanna get better no matter what and I'll do the puzzle thing :) we'll see how things go

Ah yes the start of you're chess journey Enjoy the time below 1200 elo while you can once you go up that elo chess will start to make you depressed
Wait, chess is supposed to be fun?
5:28 can someone give me the clip of this?
Not gonna lie but i got to 18xx elo in just 3 months of trying hard. I remember it took me about 2 days to get used to it and climb from 5xx to 6xx.
I went from 400 to almost 1300 in 9 months!
Bravo I think it took me a 11 months of playing
@10:04 gomu gomu no storm attack music????
I started playing consistently October 2023, made it to 800 in about 6 months, stayed stuck between 850-950 for about 6 months. Last night I finally made it to 1000 in rapid. My goal was to make it to 1000 in 1 year or less and I did it! I don’t really solve many puzzles, maybe I’ll try that lol
Very good video, I’m finding out that chess is a whole world.
7:49 don't study to much .chess is a game to escape from boring real world
Well done, I’m on the same journey and have almost 1700 elo within 4 months
what did application did you use?
Damn my chess coach is a Gm and is only 35 an hour and went to school for teaching chess
I went from 280 to 520 in 5 days, then my performance drastically decreased lol
I lose like 50 elo in a day and gain like 60 elo its just a matter of your confidence and your ability to execute the game
Iam at rank 153 now.. , problem is that i cant fingure out if i can checkmate or not
Dibbert Groves
I have almost 1200 games of blitz, zero rapid 😂 900 ELO. 2000 puzzles. 🧩 I will play my first rapid today as 400 😂
I first learned the rules of chess in 1972, played a handful of games, but then no one around me ever wanted to play, so I forgot about chess. If you noticed I said "1972." That was the year that the amazing (American) Bobby Fischer won the world championship, and that was a *HUGE* deal. Even people that had previously not cared about chess, begin playing. Chess club memberships exploded, and Bobby Fischer was instantly the idol of many young (especially) boys, including me. It was in the days of the 'Cold War,' and the Russians/Soviets had dominated chess for about a quarter of a century, so an American taking the title was like the worst slap-in-the-face the Ruskies could have received. The Russians had dismissed Fischer as a serious contender, and Fischer said that really irritated him. After Bobby Fischer won the world championship he didn't play an 'official' game of chess for 20 years. 😆 (Also, I'd recommend finding 'The Tonight Show' interview (Johnny Carson) with Bobby Fischer. Fischer's appearance was recorded in Nov. 1972, not long after he won the world title, and just before he basically went into hiding and eventually began his downward spiral. If you have a love for chess, it's an interview you'd wanna see of one of the best to ever play the game. Actually, it's good on historical and (then) current events value, too.) Now I'm 64, retired, and ran across a chess video a couple of weeks ago, and now I have a renewed interest, and even a sudden love/obsession for the game. I did (somehow) remember (almost) all the moves/rules, but I had never learned _'en passant,'_ and my memory was a little foggy on 'castling.' I downloaded probably 8-10 chess apps and begin playing against the computer, and I *SUCKED.* Even on the easiest settings on different apps I won *ONE* game out of my first, probably, 15 games. 😆 Finally, I changed my tactics - instead of just thinking I was ready to beat anyone, I started doing puzzles - a *LOT* of puzzles. I also started watching many tutorial videos, and just games of other players on like Chess com. The games that *weren't* 'Speed Chess' and those that were played by players not many years beyond my ability seemed to help the most. Although now the games of total beginners don't seem to do much for me. Sorry to write a book here, but my point is, take the advice in this video. If you noticed he made a big deal of pushing puzzles, and that was for a reason, obviously. Also, the 'Solo Chess' challenges on Chess com seem to help me a lot. They force you to not only visualize, plan and think ahead, but they also do it in a very interesting way. Ways that you really wouldn't encounter in a game. I don't even care about any rating at this point, and I may not even be to 800, but I already know my playing ability has increased by a good amount, and that's in well under *TWO WEEKS.* I believe if you _only_ play games you'll naturally get good......eventually, but if you do lots of puzzles, studying, and watching good tutorial videos, *while* you're playing games, you get much, much more from your invested time. Oh, it also seems to help me when I go back and analyze my games. Even if it's just stepping through the moves fairly quickly. Just last night I missed a checkmate and never knew it until I analyzed the game. I did eventually win the game, but missing a checkmate isn't really something you wanna be doing - EVER. *LOL* Thanks for the video. 👍
After learning a few openings and lots of puzzles my elo sky rocked
I do far more than you (train hours per day) but progress far slower 😢. It took me three months to get from 640 to 850, where I am today. But i have the feeling that I will get to 900 within a few days.
Thank you
I CANT GRIND PUZZULES CAUSE I DONT HAVE MONEY ANY ALTENATIVE
Lichess
lichess has and always will be goated. Free puzzles too
Shredder Lite app on iOS is free and has puzzles
i like the chess tactics app
what is lichess ?
0 Elo is impossible, that means your title is clickbait, that means, no need to watch it ;)
This video is bad. Early on you say to spend zero dollars on chess, and then you say we must.
🥱 good lord, what an achievement.
London is cringe asf
Queens gambit IS WHERE ITS AT BABY
You say to do puzzles a lot and that u shouldn’t spend money but then you can only do about 3 puzzles a week
0:30 - That bell curve is absolutely laughable...the vast majority of players are between 500 and 700, not f*cking 1500 lmao
The bell curve shows where the majority of people stop improving at chess which inturn shows that basically it gets harder to improve the more you get good at chess
2 years: 3400 elo
5:26 Bro was frustrated because black moved first😂
1:42. Greek gift.
Puzzles. That is really effective. I was able to beat my opponents with tactic recognition
I’ve been stuck at 217 for 13 years
@ProtonHobby fuckin trying man.
