    My considered success is my older female and younger male in same room, sleeping, eating, playing independently and ignoring each other. The male now has a playmate, so he leaves the elderly cat alone, which she prefers…

    My cat got in fight and his face got bitten really bad so I took him to the emergency vet and they cleaned him up and gave him antibiotics and pain meds and some anti inflammatory meds, but he won’t eat anything since injury is on his left side of his face. I’m trying to syringe feed him but he howls. His pain meds make him groggy. I bought some cat broth so I’m trying to get him to eat broth through small syringe. I’m so stressed. I’m just hoping he’s getting enough of hydration.

    My cat just had a surgery and has to wear the cone of shame, he’s too stupid to figure out how to use the fountain or 3 things of water I’ve set out for him… SO we’re gonna be giving him water this way. When I take the collar off he gets too excited and forgets to drink, if I could just let him without it’d be a nonissue.

    I mixed the food in with some bone broth so I wouldn't be watering down the amount of calories. My cat has ulcers on his tongue. He is hungry, but it is just too painful for him to try to eat by himself.

    I would love to see an explanation for what is termed an 'aggressive' cat. I have to sedate my cat just for the vet to take a look at him for his annual. Last time I forgot I still had to pay for the visit even though the doc couldn't do anything with him (fair enough). I have to give him pills and a powder which requires me to mix it with food. He won't even touch any meds with food.

    This can be dangerous for first-timers injecting such a large amount of food at once. If the food goes into the lungs the cat could aspirate and choke to death. Best if food is administered to the side of the mouth and not directly down the throat and a little bit at a time, especially for people doing this for the first time.

    I buy the gallon jug of chlorhexidine from chewy for $20 and it last me almost 2 years bc a little goes a long way. I also use it to clean my dogs ears as well. I was in the vet office 2 or 3x every 6 months bc of her paws. I moved so we had a new vet and she recommended this & since ive been doing this we haven't been back to see the vet for her paws. I soak two paws at a time for 5 to 10 mins depending on how bad it is. I also use a syringe to irrigation in-between the paw pads and the bottom of them. If it's yeast I'll usually apply anti fungal creme after the soak.

    My dog minds a lot! I seem to be doing everything right, not sure why he's feeling pain so often. My needles are 8mm in length, but he's 11 years old with pretty thin skin so I think that's about right. This has been torture for the both of us...

    I realize this was done 4 years ago- I am just now having to put these on my Kitty (who is 14yrs old) because of her incessant scratching on her neck. 😢 …. She has horn toe paws, every pad, all her feet. Will putting caps on her hurt or bother this issue for her? I have read they typically don’t hurt a cat… but with having to put claw caps on, I don’t want to hurt or injure her. Again, I know this was done 4yrs ago… doesn’t hurt to post a question and cross my fingers! ❤

    What kind/size of syringe is that?

  • @opaqueJigglypuff
    @opaqueJigglypuff 2 месяца назад

    1. break down the food with some water 2. take the syringe apart into two pieces, use olive oil to lubricate plunger and inside of tube 3. use teaspoon to put food into tube before compressing with plunger. 4. if syringe clogs, food might be too coarse for it, use a clean blender to break down the food to a finer degree 5. if still clogs, use a sifting mesh that is slightly smaller than the syringe hole & use a spoon to mince it through the mesh, get rid of the little chunks of debris that wont sift through. 6. use that micro-fine paste to save your baby from themselves and give them a fighting chance.

    This was helpful. And I just did it to my own elderly kidney cat. And it was successful. And also, I'm not sure if I ever want to put him through that again. This really stresses him out and the quality of his life is already pretty bad. I'm having a hard to knowing when to keep pushing him to eat or when to just let nature take its course. Does this ever succeed in getting a cat to eat on his own again? I'm ready to let go. But I also don't want to give up on him if there is still some life for him to enjoy. How does one know what the right choice is?

      @@vistacendhani I was able to syringe feed him for a couple of weeks without much difficulty. He seemed OK with it and it certainly revived him for a while. But then one day he'd had enough... and he practically said "No" to me in plain English. It was extremely plaintive and heartbreaking. He died soon afterwards.

      Hello, Amazon sells similar products, but not exactly what you see in this video. Specifically, you should look for a wide tooth metal comb, as well as a smaller tooth metal comb. There's a brand on Amazon called "Ropo" that have similar combs for a reasonable price.

    My cat had her skin stand up and was dehydrated. She was elderly and only approx 1.7kg. In 24 hrs I managed to syringe only 36ml water and approx for ml of supplements. Is that enough. I gave her last squirt before bed and she had an appointment in the morning. She was pts due to tumour. But now I'm worried because I didnt give enough water that she would have felt crap. On top on pain of tumour in her eye.

    Hi doctor. My bunny is 3.5 year old and 2.05 in weight. She has starting stage of Overgrowth teeth and doctor suggested this medicine "meloxicam and serratiopeptidase" and to give for once in a day for 3 days. She suggested 0.4mg per day. His tooth fixing will be next month only. So do you think 0.4mg is fine for rabbit per day? He is like a world to me and I really wanted to confirm before I give something to him..🙏🏻❤️

    My husband and I just got married and we are moving in together in our new home in June. We both have cats that haven't lived together as of yet. Mine is female and his is male. His cat is 6 years old and mine is 8 months old. I went to visit with my cat in their current home, and he absolutely hated her. He hissed and growled at her. She hissed back at him, but I noticed she was way more afraid of him than he was of her. It's gonna be a rough couple of weeks/months, but hopefully these tips will help us out.

      You can put caps on back claws as well. The application process is the same. We typically only put caps on front claws because those are the paws they use to scratch, but some people do apply them to all four paws.
