Rail Festival 2023 at Carillon Park, Dayton, Ohio
Rail Festival 2023, first day June 24th. Carillon Park's new 3 foot gauge "American" type locomotive is shown climbing the 3% grade and crossing over the 1/8 scale railroad tracks. The Carillon Park Rail and Steam Society (CPRSS) trains are shown around the track including a live steam Shay locomotive and the CPRSS's main loco, physically a model of a GE Dash-9 in the BNSF 7695 "Golden Swoosh" paint scheme. The full size (prototype) BNSF 7695 is actually an ES44DC. The loco is pulling 10 passenger cars. Carillon Park is located in Dayton, Ohio. Video file reference: 20230624 124200

This is a full length video of the train ride taken on Dec 30, 2022 during the Carillon Christmas Event held at Carillon Park near Dayton, Ohio. The train is a 1/8 scale, 7.5" gauge miniature train owned and operated by the all-volunteer members of the Carillon Park Rail and Steam Society (CPRSS.org).

This is a full length ride video taken from a passenger seat on the train. The train is a one-eighth scale train and the track is 7.5" between the rail heads. Construction of a 3 foot gauge RR at Carillon Park has temporarily closed the longer rides the 1/8 scale train usually travels. These other routes will be restored and will be operational in the Summer of 2023.

Carillon Historical Park in Dayton, Ohio is installing a 3 foot gauge RR. Workers are shown installing a rail on top of ties just behind the Park's main building. Carillon Park Eaglet Flies - Day 87, Dayton, Ohio.

The first eaglet has flown from the nest on June 26, 2019 and returned to a tree nearby. The second eaglet is shown flapping its wings in the nest. This is the second year the eagle parents have nested at Carillon Park, Dayton, Ohio. The nest is easily seen while walking in the Park. It is directly above the Wright Hall building housing the 1905 Wright Brothers airplane - how appropriate.
