its when the attacker hops about on one leg that you know its not real....no one waits for the next attack like that unless pre arranged as in Aikiido.......and if they stopped all the bowing and kneeling get twice as much done...no other Japanese shows so much reverence...get on with it...even the oldest school in Japan not so tied up with the formalities

Can you just imagine full speed. Breaking sword with his downward strike. Then to point enter.
Who uses Katatori Strikes? Instead of over head. It’s over shoulder to the side. Either side.
I do this in the Octagon Pattern. Left side. Right side.
I’ll never forget breaking my Bokken on Sept 12 2001. There was one face that I striked at.
I hope that the face was Dick Chaney

Most aikido people know about sword as much as they know about boxing.
Rinjiro shirata, Koichi tohei, Kanshu sunadomari, Hiroshi tada among others, were also excellent.
